Falafel wrap, fries, extra falafel
Aman H.

Our to-go for falafel! We've tried other places in and around the neighbourhood but found that in comparison, the others are quite dry. These wraps are full of flavour and VERY filling--two people can just share one. The restaurant is always kept clean and they follow hygienic measures-- and the staff is very, very friendly! Will always return. ____________________________________________ IG | @goodvxbesonly_

Food was fresh. They are always nice and kind, never grumpy. Flavours are great. Tough to find a better shawarma!

Pita and Hummus - Chicken Platter.

Pita and Hummus

Located nearby the Kipling station this middle eastern place is really good! Never been before and…read moreI decided to try it and was not disappointed. I got the chicken saj and the mixed saj with potatoes as a side and enjoyed it. My favourite being the chicken saj. It is a fairly small restaurant with limited seating options but the coziness and the pleasant workers make up for it. Overall, if I'm nearby and craving some shawarma and saj will definitely be going here.

I was a little sad when the Chinese restaurant that was in this spot closed a few months ago, but…read morethen I was excited when I discovered it would be replaced by Pita and Hummus. It was a really cold and unpleasant night and I figured the time was right to give Pita and Hummus a try. I knew I wanted a platter of some sort, so I eventually decided to go with the Chicken Platter, which comes with rice, salad, a bunch of chicken, pickles, onions, hummus, and several sauces. I took it home and was quite impressed/intimidated by the sheer amount of food. Thankfully, everything tastes really good. The rice is more flavorful than I might've anticipated, while the salad complements everything very well. The hummus and various sauces are also tasty, while the plentiful chicken has been seasoned well and isn't too dry. My only complaint is that the chicken didn't contain any of the crispy bits one craves from a joint like this, but hopefully that's an issue that'll be worked out in the future. (I think the place had been open for about a week when I showed up.) I'm excited to try more of Pita and Hummus' other offerings in the future, and hopefully they'll be around for a while to come.

I placed an order for pickup on a food-delivery app for a Club Mix Wrap ("Pita and saj bread, chicken and lamb shawarma") and added Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Parsley, Cucumber, Hot Sauce, Garlic Sauce, Tahini Sauce, and Pomegranate Molasses. (As an aside, I really hate it when joints like this don't have an option to just order a wrap or sandwich the way they think it should be made. How should I know what sauces or components work well together?) I arrived a short time later and stood at the counter for a solid minute before anyone offered to help, despite the fact that two separate people made eye contact with me. I'm going to chalk that blunder up to the fact that they just opened, however. I took my wrap home and it's good. The flavors are decent and the components work well together. I do have some complaints, however. I don't think the two separate breads do anything to enhance the concoction, while the meats, tender as they were, were completely lacking in the crispy bits one desires with good shawarma. Finally, the four sauces were just too overwhelming. The whole thing was swimming in sauce. Still, there's a lot of potential here and I'll certainly make an effort to give them another shot in a few weeks.

Great food and great service!…read more A friend of our group introduced us to this great casual resto. Great portions with matching taste ~ laid back casual seating We were group of 8 and 6 of us were new to this place (not Turkish food) Super happy they offered vegetarian versions as we had a few that follow this diet LOVE the variety of desserts as most Turkish places only have a limited selection of 1 or 2 items Would definitely recommend small or big groups to this place AND a special shoutout to Mehmat who waited on our table and provided excellent, friendly service! IF YOU ARE A WOMAN AND LIKE TO BE RESPECTED, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT!!…read more HORRIBLE SERVICE, DISRESPECTFUL AND SEXIST SERVER!!! I've never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life. The food was fine, but the service completely ruined the experience. We were a group of 11, and our server messed up two orders. When he realized his mistake, he offered to replace my husband's dish, but only after he had already eaten half of it, saying it would "take too long" to fix. When we realized the mistake, he was so rude to us. He said "why did you take the wrong plate?!?" But when the other server came to give the dishes he didn't mentioned anything, so we thought he was giving us the right plate. When it came time to pay, the server tried to charge us for the wrong plate, which was double the price of what we actually ordered. I calmly explained the situation, but instead of listening to me, he raised his voice, argued, and refused to talk to me -- only addressing my husband as if my words didn't matter. It was humiliating, aggressive, and blatantly SEXIST!!!! Another group came to sit behind us and I was sitting with my chair a bit far from the table and the same server came to me and say "can you move? I have more people here to sit" I used to be a regular customer, but after being treated like this SIMPLY BECAUSE IM A WOMAN, I will never come back. It's 2025, and no one should have to deal with this kind of disrespect. Truly shameful behavior.

Platter had chicken, hummus, three sides, pretty good. Chicken was pretty dry, so that's why they put all that sauce! Was adequate with the taste. Sides were great. Fattoosh salad, proper. My first visit was a few months ago after work. This eatery is in Mimico. I used to hang out in this area fairly often several years ago, so it helped that I was kind of familiar with the area. As with many neighbourhoods in Toronto, things change quickly! Both times, I found a parking spot facing Lake Shore Boulevard West, steps away from the store. This eatery is located in a plaza. There is additional parking to the left of the eatery. I walked into Mooring Eats and it was busy. It smelled good. I got the warmest smile from Spiro at the order counter. His son, Wagih, was working alongside him. Both own the eatery. I ordered the mixed shawarma plate a few months ago, which consists of chicken and beef shawarma, with your choice of two sides. Wagih asked me what sides I wanted. I had no idea what sides were available. He was so patient and kind to point them out. I went with chickpea salad and basmati rice. Spiro was generous to say that I could get more sides if I wanted to. I was okay with the two that I chose because they looked so good. Both of them helped put my plate together. I got tahini and garlic sauce. The plate comes with pickled turnips and pickles. I also got baklava for my dad during my first visit. He has always loved baklava and it looked so good in the clear boxes in front of me. Spiro wanted to confirm whether I was going to dine in or do takeout. I went with the latter, as I was flying to the Twin Cities the next day and needed to pack. He put both my items in a bag and handed it over to me. I thanked them both for the food. They hoped that I'd enjoy my food. It looked so good. I headed to my car, backed my car onto the street, and headed home. I visited my parents first before I headed home the first time I got my dad baklava. I dropped it off. My dad's eyes lit up. He insisted that I have a couple of squares. There were six. I ate two. I loved them. The baklava isn't drenched in honey. It was slightly sweet, with the pistachio nuts and flaky pastry standing out more. I am not a huge baklava person because I dislike how sweet it can get, but I am a fan of this version. I flew out to the Twin Cities the following day. My dad told me that he ate the whole thing after I had left. Note to self: Get two boxes for my dad next time. Guess what I did yesterday? I got my dad two boxes. It's Sunday. Guess how many boxes are left? One. I did well getting two boxes this time. The chicken and beef shawarma plate that I had months ago was delicious. The seasoning was perfect and the proteins were tender. I loved the garlic sauce and tahini. The garlic was pretty strong, which I prefer. The tahini was excellent. The chickpea salad was yummy. It was refreshing with the lemon in it and it had garlic, too. I loved the basmati rice. It was so fluffy and comforting eating it with my shawarma. It was great dropping by yesterday to get baklava for my dad. I'm not in this neighbourhood often, but it worked out so well after watching a movie at Cineplex Queensway. I'll be back for more, especially when my dad runs out of baklava. (180)
