(Try Savory Steakhouse in Kellner or Mikey's in Plover for an excellent old fashioned.) Service was also only okay. Waitress was competent but but great. She asked if I wanted my soup ahead of my meal and I said yes. It was delivered about 90 seconds before the food came, so my meal was lukewarm by the time I ate it. I know this might but be the waitress's fault, but there was a breakdown somewhere along the line. Atmosphere is very weird. The bar area feels like 1975, and the dining room looks like a BBQ restaurant with its red-and-white checked tablecloths and captains chairs. We'll probably be back for reasonably priced drinks, but not a meal.

A limited food selection is made up by a thorough beer selection. A friendly bar tender and friendly locals rounded out the visit. A good sized TV behind the bar with great sounding speakers was kinda surprising. There is an old oval pic on the wall high above and behind the bar of a couple who I meant to ask who they were, but I forgot. Could they be the McSweet's? If I ever pass through Black River Falls I'll have to stop in and ask. Don't forget to get some beer to go!
