This past spring, I happened to come across Brick Logik's page on Yelp which brought me to their website and I was very impressed with what I saw. There was a link that allowed me to film a quick video on my phone about my project and upload it. Within 15 minutes, I got a call from Clay at Brick Logik. Clay was the first person I talked to that genuinely seemed as excited about my project as I was. He spent a good 45 minutes with me on the phone that night talking thru options with no commitment at all on my end and wasn't pushy at all. That's when I knew I wanted to work with Clay and Brick Logik. After a lot of conversations and listening to my vision, Clay brought it to life and presented me several 3D renderings of his designs and brought my vision to life. We loved it! We ended up redoing a 2 level patio, put in a L shaped outdoor kitchen with grill, refrigerator, and bar. Added a gas fire pit and on top of it all, Clay was willing to work with me and install a custom fiberglass pergola from another vendor and helped coordinate that piece of the project. Clay and his team also added lots of accent lights throughout the kitchen and steps to really make it pop at night and helped with the outdoor entertainment system and electrical work. The Brick Logik installation team was also a pleasure to work with. Always very pleasant, cleaned up really good at the end of each day and always wanted to make sure than we were 100% happy with everything. To me, when picking a vendor to work on a big project with, finding a company that is great with communication/responsiveness and focused on quality work and making their client happy is what is most important to me. I never had an issue getting a hold of Clay or not getting a response back within a reasonable time frame. With that said, I can't recommend Clay and Brick Logik enough. They were truly a pleasure to work with. I had high expectations and I'm sure was one of their more demanding clients, but they didn't let me down. My wife and I are extremely happy with the end result. Thanks again Clay and team!

If you're thinking about hiring Ben G Landscaping for grading or any services, stop right now…read more Hiring Ben G Landscaping was the single worst decision I've made, and I strongly urge you to avoid repeating my mistake. This company is dangerously unqualified, engages in gross malpractice, and possesses absolutely no knowledge of proper grading practices. We entrusted Ben G Landscaping with grading work at our new construction home, and they did exactly the opposite of what professional grading should accomplish. Instead of diverting water away from our house, Ben G Landscaping directed water towards it, resulting in severe flooding, extensive water damage, and costly repairs. This catastrophic negligence has cost us years of headaches, stress, and substantial financial losses to investigate and remedy. Independent evaluations by licensed professionals conclusively demonstrated that Ben G Landscaping did not follow the original grading plan at all. When confronted with their blatant errors and shown clear evidence by a new surveyor, Ben G Landscaping refused to acknowledge their mistakes or take any responsibility. We have suffered tremendously due to their incompetence, and now, to protect others, we are preparing legal action against Ben G Landscaping. If you are searching for grading services, avoid Ben G Landscaping at all costs. Hiring this business risks significant financial loss, damage to your property, and years of distress. There are countless qualified professionals--Ben G Landscaping is not one of them. Save yourself from unnecessary hardship and expense by looking elsewhere.

We contacted Hope's Landscaping in July 2018 for an on-site consultation. We had an aging deck…read morethat was getting little use and wanted to know what was possible if we were to replace it with a brick paver patio. They promptly set up a visit and Ernie came out and checked out the area. A day later, he came back with a vision for what was possible (we literally had no idea what to do and were relying on the opinions of contractors). He explained what would fit the space best, what sorts of things would detract from the space, and the best "bang for our buck." He was open with his pricing, laying out all the details of what was included, discounts, etc. We decided to go with them to: 1) Remove the deck 2) Remove two older raised garden beds 3) Remove an area of pea gravel separating the raised garden beds and deck. 4) Create a two-tiered patio, with curving edges, that steps down to a built-in fire pit and a half-moon style stairs leading up to the adjacent sun room. 5) Put in garden beds edging the patio with custom plants. 6) Finish the area with sod. What followed is the only "less than 5 star" part of my review. We were told a start date of August 25, contingent upon rain and other projects; we completely understood. Late August came and for a couple weeks the communication about the project progress came to a standstill. It took about 3 weeks of voicemails and emails to finally get a response and explanation about the delay (health issues with crew members and some weather delays). I expressed my concern about simply improving communication and from that point forward, we had no issues with the office folk, Ernie, or anyone at Hope's. I think it was simply that they were overwhelmed at the time. Because of the delays, our project ran into a winter "pause." The deck was torn out late fall in 2018, and then in April, the work on the space truly began. One thing that we were VERY impressed with was the thoughtfulness each and every day by the work crew as they packed up to leave. They would pick up the area, organize any tools or bricks, blow off the patio, etc., just to make it "look nice" until the next day, even if the area wasn't even close to being ready for use. When the project got close to being done, Ernie met with us regularly again to discuss the garden beds, finishing the project, and other details. We were given a list of plants to choose for the garden beds (custom listed and appropriate for the shadiness of the areas), and Ernie was receptive to my wanting to create (on my own) a small in-ground strawberry garden (in the pictures, this is the rectangle of bare dirt not covered by the new sod--Ernie gave his opinion on the size and placement of that bed so as to not detract from the appeal of the patio and other beds). All-in-all, we would hands-down recommend Hope's Landscaping, especially if you "lack creative vision" like we did. Ernie has a talent for creating a project FOR YOU and FOR YOUR SPACE.

We are on the third floor of a walk up condo, and we have a private rooftop deck. We started…read moregetting leaks in the ceiling in two places in our kitchen, and called about a half a dozen places in and around the city to come out and assess. The proposals were all over the place. Some companies said it couldn't be done without ripping off the rooftop deck and repairing everything. Some companies said it wasn't the roof at all, it was condensation inside the house? Jeff at Rollin Contracting was way more honest and practical in his assessment. He pointed out where he suspected the two leaks were coming from, but said that you never really know until you rip up the roof and move the air conditioner and take a look. He told us that roof repair was tricky, that the guys who said we might have to replace the whole roof could be right. But he wouldn't start with that, he would start with the less expensive approach. Granted, there was the risk that if it didn't work, we would have wasted that money when they re-did the whole roof, but we decided to gamble on a $2000 repair rather than jump into the $12,000 repair of the whole roof. Rollin Contracting was the only one who was honest and open and gave us options. He was also the one who was most confident in where he thought the leaks were coming from. It has now been one month since they repaired both potential sources of the leak, and neither of the leaks have come back. And in case you haven't been paying attention, we've gotten absolutely drenched this May. Meaning there is no doubt in my mind that they successfully fixed the leaks. The contractors that came to do the work were great, they didn't even enter the house. I offered to let them come inside to get to the rooftop, and they said they preferred to just go up and over to keep our house clean. While taking up the wooden boards on the rooftop deck to do the roof repair, they accidentally broke one of the boards. They went to Home Depot and replaced the board that day. Not a big deal, and super quick to fix it. Also, at the last minute (after we had signed the contract), I realized that I had forgotten to ask them about the fireplace, which also occasionally drips water during bad storms. I asked Jeff if he would have his guys look at the chimney to see if they could identify the source of the potential leak and to let me know what his recommendations were to have that fixed as well. He went ahead and had his guys caulk it while they were up there without even charging us. I know that's probably not a huge expense, but it was still a nice gesture to just throw that in. So across the board it was a great experience. Would definitely work with these guys again and recommend them with confidence.

Please think twice before hiring this contractor - it will not be worth it if there are any uncertainties re: your project and they will say anything to get your job. We hired Jeff to perform some deck work for our three flat. Jeff quoted us $6K to replace certain posts and railings. One year later, additional work was clearly required because railings were loose and Jeff performed an additional $3K worth of work. At no time to Jeff represent himself as anything other than qualified to perform the work. Turns out he never even got a permit for the work. We were cited by the city for non-compliance shortly after his second round of work. He complied with fixing some of the issues identified. When he met with the inspector to review the work and confirm compliance, he essentially yelled, screamed, stormed off and refused to fix any of the additional work. We are now left with a deck that still needs work, $12K later. Jeff continues not to respond to emails/requests for him to finish his work. Jeff misrepresented his ability to do deck work according to city law and code. His unprofessionalism in resolving the issue that he created (he should have just said his people didnt do deck work maybe instead of doing a poor job and then getting upset when someone challenged him to do the work properly) was so disappointing. Do not work with this contractor.

They actually came out the next day looked at property and even discussed the possibilities. I was quite pleased with their attention and courtesy and some of these other 4 1/2 and 5 star folks are questionable. I would recommend them solely on their professional demeanor and customer service.

When we purchased our home, our patio was old and dilapidated and our yard was in terrible shape and prone to constant flooding. Pete came to our property (in a socially distant way of course) and immediately began to visualize a design that not only would be aesthetically pleasing, but would solve our drainage issues.
