We have been looking to get our yard graded and grass planted with fencing and deck work done. I have read on here about people being stood up not being called back and I didn't really believe it until I started calling companies for estimates. I must have sent pictures to 4 different companies who asked for them only to never pick up the phone or just "no-show" for appointments to my dismay but this was not true in the case of Esparza. They actually came out the next day looked at property and even discussed the possibilities. I was quite pleased with their attention and courtesy and some of these other 4 1/2 and 5 star folks are questionable. So, I haven't gotten work done by Juan but, I have to say, I was VERY impressed with the meeting I had with him today. He is very knowledgeable, very understanding and just an all around nice guy. I ended up getting 3 quotes from other landscapers. I must admit he wasn't the highest bid, nor was he the lowest. But he was VERY close to the lowest (within a few hundred on a $9k job). Even though he wasn't the lowest, we decided to go with him because we felt the most comfortable with him doing the work, understanding our wants and needs, and being able to put those wants and needs into our yard without second guessing our decision. So for peace of mind, knowing that it will be done how we want it and be don't right, it is worth just the few dollar difference from the lowest quote. Oh, for those who might not like he didn't get back to a few of the reviewers, he did get in touch with me right away. Communicated quickly via email (which I preferred). And was flexible with the time on coming to view what needed to be done. I will update my post when the job is done!!! read more

We hired Juan and his team for a paver patio job on what was left of our small city backyard. They finished it in 1.5 days with nice design and cuts. They were courteous, clean and efficient. I would recommend Juan and his team for your pavers too! read more

We hired their team for a large project involving a total clear-out of our backyard and then to build a deck off the back of the house. Juan's team is hardworking and completes beautiful work! He pointed out a few structural issues he noticed during the process to ensure future safety. We can tell that he is thoughtful in both his landscape work and deck/hardscape work. Called to have spring clean-up of pine needles on our LARGE front 'lawn'. Esparza Landscapes and his office were responsive to the initial request by phone, in coming out to give an estimate and then in actually performing the work. There was a LOT of raking of pine needles and they worked non-stop, filled the capacity of their hauling vehicles that day - and then came back to finish the work. It was a pleasure to work with this company, and their people. Would definitely call them again! read more

We hired Juan and his crew to fix our back patio. The slab cracked and everything was pitched towards the house. Juan came out and walked us through all our options, making sure to understand our budget as well as our design thoughts. He came back with a perfect plan for our space at a very reasonable price. It took 2 days total for them to demo the cracked slab, re-grade the patio space, and lay a brand new Holland stone patio. They were extremely punctual, courteous and clean. Our neighbors even came over afterwards to comment on not only how great the patio looked, but how effecient and professional the crew was. We would recommend them to anyone. read more

We moved into a new construction home and were looking to complete a patio with pergola, firepit and built in grill-fridge. We contacted Juan who came out and took a look at our property and designed a beautiful patio. He was trained as an architect so he has a good eye for design. He was very fair from a cost standpoint and did not try to up sell us at any point. Juan was on site everyday making sure construction progressed which was nice. His crew was clean, professional and hardworking and when we wanted changes made Juan and the team were flexible. We recently added a patio to our backyard and the process was seamless and painless. Mr. Esparza returns communications very quickly, including email and texts. The care in putting down the base was impressive, and he ran sprinkler system lines and low voltage electrical under the patio. The paver-work is meticulous. He completed the job, from excavation to completion, in about a week. Very professional and we would definitely use him again. read more

Does not value people's time. Nearly a month has passed without any work being completed. Had to hound Juan over the phone and texts to get a response. Final response suggested additional work that was bot requested, as if we had not discussed our needs prior. We were told we'd receive a quote, which also never materialized. Scheduled for an estimate today at 7 AM- delayed going into work to be there, but no one showed up. They had said they couldn't do the work for 6 weeks or so, which would have been fine, but apparently they were fine with blowing off the appointment just because there's time 'til the job would be done. Of course, I have no review of their actual work because I won't be using them based on my experience with their customer service. read more

We recently built a new construction home so we did not have any landscaping. Our front and back yards were in pretty rough shape filled with nails and other construction debris. We hired Juan and his team to clean up the area and install brick patios in our front and back yards. During his consultation appointment at our home, he was very professional and thoroughly explained all of our options within our budget. He did not try to upsell us. In fact, his price per square foot was significantly lower than 3 other quotes from other companies who used the exact same brand of stone (Unilock). Due to the upcoming winter season, we expressed that we wanted the brick patios completed soon as possible. Juan had his crew out at our place working the same week we signed the contract! His workers were all very prompt, professional, clean and hard working. We definitely plan to use Esparza landscapes for all our future landscaping needs! We had a backyard that needed a lot of work from a pool that used to be there before we moved in and entirely too many paver bricks - Juan and his team came in, cleared and leveled everything out and put down seed - they continued to monitor the seeding and when that was proving to be unsuccessful due to weeds growing, they came back, cleaned everything up, and put down sod. Juan knew we were anxious to have a "normal" backyard and made sure to make good on the plan! We have and will continue to recommend Esparza Landscapes and look forward to our next projects with them! read more

I called for an estimate and they provided me with a reasonable price. They agreed to do the work and even showed up 20 min earlier than agreed. They did a really good job on my yard. I had two trees and tons of roots under the dirt. Very happy with the job. read more

Very disappointed in their customer care. After being a long-term customer, almost 15 years, I complained to the owner his crew was riding over my black viny landscaping trim, damaging it. I complained twice before. This last time, I saw his crew member ride over the trim and complained to the owner, requesting he replace the damaged parts. He arrogantly tried to attribute it to degradation, deterioration over time. The black vinyl is very thick. It would take almost 400 years, if even then, for it to break down. I pointed out the areas where his ride-on movers did not go, were not damaged. His reply was to forgive the last months bill and and part ways. He claimed it shouldn't cost more than $200 to replace the damaged sections. I told him then his crew should replace the damaged areas and I would pay my bill of $120. He didn't want to replace it because he knew it would cost more than that. My quotes for replacement ranged from $500 - $1000. I Also pointed out my neighbors whose landscaping & trim was older, showed no signs of "deterioration". They used a different service that did not ride over their trim. The crew rushes through on their ride-on mowers rather than leaving a swath near the trim, and then finishing it up with the grass trimmer. I do not recommend Esparza Landscaping at all. They did not respect my property nor provide a proper resolution. Calling Juan Esparza was an exercise in patience as he would rarely get back to me, and it required several phone calls. read more
