He wasn't pushy at all, with the exception of the retaining wall adjustment, the price never changed. I called and spoke with Jorge Molina. We set up a time that same day and Jorge came out and gave us an estimate. We decided that we would hire him for the job. He requested money down and I sent him that money. I signed a contract and it was sent to me. Jorge told us that he would be able to come out the next day, Sunday, and begin. He said he would begin between 8-9am. He did not show up until noon. He brought 3 other guys to help. They worked for about 3 hours on that Sunday. As he was leaving he stated that he would be out on Monday between 8-9am. At 9:30am, we received a text from Jorge saying that it would be closer to noon that he would show up. At 1pm, both my husband and myself began sending Jorge texts messages and phone calls. I emailed him as well. He never responded to any text messages, did not return an phone calls nor did he reply to my email. He was a no call/no show on Monday. The next morning on Tuesday, my husband and I again tried calling and texting Jorge. I decided to reach out to a different number on the Yelp page associated with Pena Masonry. A gentleman answered and I explained to him about what happened. He told me that he does know Jorge and he would reach out to him. I ask the guy to please call me back when he find out. Within 5 minutes of me hanging up with Pena Masonry, Jorge texted both my husband and myself. He claims that he was possibly exposed to Covid and will now have to remain in quarentine for 14 days. I sent him a text back saying that we didn't have 14 days because we were having a pool installed. Jorge again claimed it wasn't his fault and that he was looking for someone to come out to finish the job. I told him to please let me know that day (Tuesday). I said that if he couldn't find anyone I would like the difference back from the work he did for the 3 hours on Sunday from my deposit I gave him. I also text the gentleman I spoke with from Pena masonry Group exactly what I told Jorge. Neither Jorge or Pena Masonry Group reached out Tuesday by phone or text. I sent an email terminating the contract and now I am out my deposit and still need to find someone to get my job done. This is a pretty good scam this group is playing. Please stay away from them. Now I will have to attempt to take them to small claims court for my deposit back!

He stated he would get back with me after they complete a few jobs. I agreed. No answer regarding a start date so I reached out to him and he stated they could start a few days later which I scheduled on my off day. After breaking porch apart, there was a problem with my porch walls which needed to be torn down and redone but by a tuckpointer. He gave me a friend he works with, Jose, who did a great job. After he was done with his part then VC could continue with project. They came on a day we were expecting a storm though sunny throughout most of the day. I was concerned the job wouldn't turn out right due to rain. Though the concrete was discolored at first a few days later it turned the correct color. The project overall was good though I'm a bit bombed that residue concrete is on the new brick wall I had to pay extra for....only way to remove is acid wash which will change color of concrete. I opted for them use their concrete truck which required them to remove panels from my wrought iron gate versus renting a concrete pourer for additional $1200. The owner, his father who was friendly, professional, was able to weld it back together. Between the porch and tuckpointing my interior grass is shot. Overall a good job but the concrete on new bricks costed a Star.

This was the worst contractor I have hired…read more They twice tried to replace a front door concrete step and entry sidewalk. The first time the platform was not pitched properly, and was actually convex, so rain water pooled around the edges, where the concrete meets the building's brick walls. The business owner, Jose Servin, was unresponsive for months. When they finally did respond they agreed to redo the surface. They would not say precisely when they would do the work, and did not communicate with me before they showed up and did it. When they did show up to resurface the platform, they did not place any signage or warning that the cement was wet, so several people walked on, leaving permanent footprints. Furthermore, they left it with a dip in the middle, where a puddle now forms. Not recommended. Note that there is another business called Central General Contractor located at the same address, possibly the same business using a different name.
