After a terrible installation from another contractor, our sprinkler system was a mess! We've had brown spots for the last two summers due to low water pressure and insufficient coverage. I reached out to Rainforce Irrigation hoping for a full inspection of our system and a plan to get it fixed. Raul responded quickly and came out the next day. After confirming that the design was not ideal, he gave a detailed and very reasonable cost to fix it. He even coordinated with another contractor friend to take out and reinstall part of our patio so he could run a larger water line. Only time will tell, but I feel confident that we are finally going to have a beautiful lawn this summer with sufficient water flow and all new sprinkler heads that actually cover our lawn! read more

After years of dragging out the water hose, I decided it was time to install a sprinkler system! I researched a few companies, came across Rainforest Irrigation, read the great reviews, and gave them a call. Raul, the owner, came out within a couple of days. He explained the process, took some measurements, gave me a quote, and hired him right on the spot! Raul and his crew arrived on time on the appointed day. Everything was going smoothly, then a hiccup surfaced concerning an old, rear outdoor water valve. He said it had to be replaced, which I agreed with. What impressed me, though, was what Raul had to do to make the repair. He could have told me to hire a plumber to fix this, however, Raul took care of it. He accessed the crawl space, max 2 ft high, probably less, and while communicating with his crew on the outside wall, he changed out the old valve with a new one. My claustrophobia was in high gear seeing this! I appreciate the troubleshooting. I have no qualms recommending this professional company to anyone looking to install a sprinkler system. Haven't had the best experience with Raul. I first used him to winterize my system. Appeared good until the following year my valve was bust from there being water in the system. They said they would stand by their work and fix for me, but this somehow ended up costing over $300! I then had them come back for a sprinkler install job. The work was ok but the pricing was frustrating. They quoted an hourly rate, which seemed reasonably, and then told me at payment that this was ACTUALLY a per person per hour cost--although they never said how many people would be needed. The price per sprinkler head was also outrageous and 10x as much as I could purchase for. Finally, they attempted to charge me a call out fee as they forgot a part I had requested and had to come back. I will not use this company again. Be very careful to get FULL quote/details up front. read more

Raul and his associates did an excellent job. I hired him to evaluate and repair the underground irrigation system for two areas (front parkway, and garden plot along the side of my home in Bucktown. This had been installed by another firm a few years ago and was presumed to be malfunctioning (plants were not doing well, and since it was completely underground there was no way to fully assess what was happening). I had called a lot of businesses and no one was interested in helping to solve the problem. Then I came across Raul and Rainforce. He was excellent. In about 3 hours he and his 2 associates were able to solve the problem. They dug up the required lines, used what was functional in the existing system, and converted to popup valves. I appreciated that he took pride in troubleshooting the problem and was not interested in merely selling a whole new system. Our plants are clearly much happier. After the company I had used for years was sold to a very nasty company ~ I found Rainforce. They were extremely kind and polite and were able to accommidate us late in the season. They responded immediately for a service call and have been nothing but dependable. The only downside ~ I have to have a separate plumber come out to do my RPZ check. Raul is wonderful and, in a way, I am glad the other company was so horrible and rude because I found Rainforce. We finally got fed up with a major North Shore competitor who was providing increasingly poor response times, inflated estimates, and repeated visits for simple problems. So in desperation we started calling smaller competitors hoping to find a good one. Rainforce is definitely the solution to that problem. I called early season and got a courteous text back within three days. They came out to do an estimate the next day. We needed several sprinkler heads repaired and a line and zone relocated in preparation for driveway expansion, with an old copper-line 1960 system. Raul did the digging (literally) to ensure he knew exactly what work needed to be done, and did some quick simple repairs while doing the estimate. He refused payment for this until the larger job was done. Three days later, four guys were at our home 9am Sunday morning to complete the work. They worked hard, verified with me all sprinkler heads were working, added two heads to the system while rerouting the pipe, and finished the job right on time (we were leaving at 11am and I paid them at 10:55). After all that, their price was 15% lower than what I had been quoted from my previous provider, who also misunderstood the work and definitely would have upped their quote on site by 50% at least. So... a screaming deal. I have fired my previous contractor. Rainforce is our go-to for the future. Cannot recommend highly enough. Too many folks around here are getting ripped off by other North Shore providers. read more

I wanted a local company, (not the large, rude company that did my install) and asked for a quote. Raul from Rainforce got back to me first, and immediately. He was friendly, knowledgeable and offered to come the next day or next week. Next day please! He communicated with me as to the timeframe, and confirmed that by text. Raul and his assistant arrived promptly as promised and got right to work. In person, he was just as pleasant to work with. He said he wants to try to help out our usual guy, without attempting to steal business, because injuries could happen to anyone. Raul pointed out one broken head, without pressure to replace it when I told him my husband will take care of it himself. Rainforce also installs systems and he is putting one in tomorrow. We installed a drainage system for our gutter downspouts and Raul had to remove a lot of old and incorrectly installed past buried drainpipe from previous landscapers we had hired over the years.
