I was here about a week ago to pick up some cupcakes for a co-workers birthday. I bought 12 of their mini cupcakes with the following flavours: - Chocolate Chip - Red Velvet - Double Chocolate Caramel - Dulce du Leche - Lavish (which is a chocolate cupcake with a whip cream filling) - Coconut The cupcakes we delicious! Because they were mini cupcakes, I didn't feel guilty eating two and still got a generous amount of icing. They were sweet but not too sweet and they were light and fluffy. Great texture and taste. When I walked into the shoppe, it smelled heavenly. The woman behind the counter was busy chatting with another customer but she called a baker out right away to help me. The first question I asked was, "Do you have anything with bacon?" the baker said, "No, unfortunately, but I wish we did!" Here's to hoping they add a funky bacon cupcake to the menu! I have to say I was disappointed that I could ONLY get mini cupcakes on walk-in (I could have ordered regular size, or even giant cupcakes if I had known in advance) but I suppose mini cupcakes were a good way to get a 'taste' for their product. They had 12 varieties for me to choose from but I only went with 6. Lavish cupcakes rank by far the best customer service in my personal opinion and have the best tasting cupcakes and cakes. I live far from the location although do not hesitate to go the distance as their products speak for itself. My first impression walking in for the first time; the environment is extremely welcoming. I was greeted immediately upon arrival and was given fresh cupcakes. I had ordered their mini cupcakes, a dozen to be exact. 3 double chocolate, 3 cookies and cream, 3 red velvet, and 3 coconut. I was given the option to dine in or takeout and I had taken the takeout option. The customer service was the best customer service as I had received from any bakery. The prices are just as good. The cupcakes pricing is extremely well-placed understanding they are all hand made from scratch with high-quality fresh ingredients (they are also nut-free as the friend I had arrived with was allergic to nuts). The cleanliness of the bakery was 10/10 as their decorations and layout are beautiful. The cake designs they also had gone out were just spectacular works of art. Now for the part, everyone was waiting for... The cupcakes are just heaven to my mouth and if it were my choice, I would have eaten the whole dozen and not shared at all. Let's start off with the design of them; they're beautiful and totally Instagram story-worthy. The packaging of the cupcakes is very well organized as they are spaced out so they don't fall on one another and become spoiled. Overall at first look, they're very cute and have a very generous amount of icing. The taste of the cupcake; The overall taste was extremely pleasing, as the icing was soft and flavourful and complements the soft delicate cupcake as they go hand in hand. Nothing was more overpowering than the other as they are perfect together. The overall name "lavish cupcakes" speaks for itself. Randomly walked into this bakery, we tried a couple of cupcakes for tasting. And omg it was so so good the taste of the cupcakes were so creamy and fluffy. This has to be the best cupcake spot I have ever been too. We tried the red velvet cupcake and it was so good. After trying this place we order a big batch for my cousins engagement and everyone loved the cupcakes. They're not cheap, but find me a gourmet cupcake shop that is! I stopped here on the weekend to grab some cupcakes as a gift (that's my excuse!) and was not disappointed. They have a delicious selection of miniature as well as large cupcakes and to tell you the truth, I'd take them all. I bought 6 minis which came to almost $14 so you can do the math, they're not cheap but it's a luxury. While I was waiting, the gentleman behind the counter gave me a sample cupcake to taste, pure heaven. The thing I like about these cupcakes is that they're not super sweet like some of the other shops I've purchased from. While I love the opportunity to support a small business I have to say I was extremely disappointed with this place. I walked out mad at myself that I had just spent a small fortune on some dinky cupcakes. I was also not impressed with the taste, as they are small cupcakes I suppose it is difficult to keep them moist because the one I ate was incredibly dry. The red velvet cupcake I almost ate had a hair stuck under the icing which put me right off. There were two women working in the location and I did not find either to be particularly friendly. Suggestions: - remove the tacky barcode stickers from the top of your glass displays - make a sign with the name of each cupcake flavour to display in the cases. - adjust your pricing. I get that it is a niche business and you need to make a profit but when I can go elsewhere and walk away with a full specialty cupcake for the price of your mini cupcake it leaves a bad taste in my mouth read more

I've definitely had better but I have had worse also, however for the price point ($2.25 per mini!!) I would say that they were a bit overpriced. I just walked in and although the man at the counter was absolutely delightful it isn't enough to keep me coming back since the cupcakes were just alright. The red velvet didn't have the right flavour and just tasted like chocolate, not to mention there was not enough cream cheese in the icing. The pina colada was just vanilla with coconut while a true pina colada flavour should have a taste of pineapple and the dulce de leche hardly had any caramel or taste other than vanilla with extra brown sugar. The buttercream held nicely though but the cake was dry by the time I took them home to eat after dinner and I had only purchased them at lunch time when they were fresh tasting at that time. read more

Pretty tasty cupcakes but very careless in the way they decorate. Spelled a name wrong that I specifically typed out in an email twice, I couldn't even take pictures for a birthday :| I asked for them to all be decorated in a blue colour for a boys birthday and I received some pink. Really make sure you emphasize what you want because they don't care and they'll just do whatever they want. The misspelling angered me the most though. read more

I can't really judge their products, but the customer service is non existent. Was trying to order a customized birthday cake for a big birthday bash. Sent a few emails. I visited Lavish Cupcakes for mother's day 2015. The one request I had for the day was to provide a mini-cupcake for mum to enjoy despite her diet restrictions. I was pleasantly surprised to find this shop open on a Sunday and fairly close to my home. Without knowing the preferred flavour, I was not sure what to order. If you have been to other cupcake shops you'll know that many limit their flavours to the icing where the vast majority of the cup cake bases are the same. Not at Lavish, they have many bases, icing flavours and fillings to boot. Having bought the lady of the day a dozen (one of each flavour that was still available) i was on my way. While i was in the shop, i was most impressed with the "art desserts/fondant" on display. The store gave me the impression of a wedding shop with it's displays and white accents. I would be here more often if not for the price. Yes, the mini-cupcakes were delicious and packaged in a lovely box but I am sure luxury and variety could be had for less in a mini-cupcake shop. I would have rated it 3 stars (due to price) if not for their being open on a Sunday and having more variety than I expected. Thanks very much Lavish...you helped make it a good mother's day! I had contacted Lavish in attempts to book a consult for a small gluten and nut free cake for my wedding in 6 months. Not only were they not willing to work with my schedule to book the consult but they continued to ignore further attempts (emails) to book for a later date. They finally contacted me about a week later and suggested that I not meet with them in person but instead, send them pictures of what I want my cake to look like! And here I thought I was contacting a company about having a custom cake made. Completely unsatisfied and surprised with their lack of customer service. HORRIBLE SERVICE! I called to place an order for cupcakes and a 6"cake, on Feb 3rd 2017, first the owner answered, and put me on hold because there was screaming kids in the back ground, OK no problem (I have children too), so then a teenager answered, and told me that I could not have my order on a Monday because they are closed, so I would have to get my order on the Sunday. I explained that was unacceptable to get a day old cake with cupcakes to serve my guests, she then put me on hold, and had an assertive gentlemen come on the phone, asking me again, what I needed, I explained to him I needed my order for a Monday (2 weeks coming) and he simply said; "if you don't want it on the Sunday, just go order it somewhere else". First of all very, RUDE!! Second of all, as a business owner myself for 37 years, I am so disappointed with his professionalism. What business owner, or any decent person for that matter talks like that to a potential customer, or anyone at all. I didn't feel that the cupcakes are worth the price. I find Lavish Cupcakes to be very expensive in comparison to many other cupcake specialty bakeries. First off, the texture of the cupcakes are good, very moist and flavorful but the overall design and the look of the cupcakes lacks design. They're not very appealing to the eye. Last time I was there, I was hoping to order some goodies for my friend's birthday and one of their staff told me that they only specialize in cupcakes and not whole cakes or other pastries which was kind of disappointing. I did not end up ordering from them because I went to Nedege instead for a better deal in terms of price but it would have been nice if they had more selections. The location of Lavish Cupcakes is in a commercial plaza near Weston and Langstaff. It was difficult to find and somewhat hidden, odd location for a cupcake bakery if you ask me, and parking is free in the plaza. read more
