Imagine that feeling for ONE FULL HOUR!! My friend went recently and recommended the In The Mood For Korean Scalp Massage. This service includes: a scalp analysis, deep scalp massage, Gua Sha comb massage, customized mask, steam mist treatment, organic growth-stimulating hair bath, conditioning treatment, and growth scalp treatment. My tech, Catalina was so nice. The scalp analysis is the first thing you start with, and let me tell you mine was quite alarming. I suffer from thinning hair and it was really interesting to see the health of my scalp and have them explain it to me. Now, onto the good stuff. You lay on a heated table and are covered in a blanket. Then they cover your eyes and proceed to start the best scalp massage ever. From what I can remember (because I fell asleep) they use three different tools to massage your scalp as well as give a conditioning treatment. The one thing I found odd was that the treatment doesn't come with a blow dry, I guess because heated tools are not the best for your scalp. However, they do have Shark tools and nice hair products in their bathroom for you to blow dry your hair on your own. The spa is beautiful, and on the smaller side with a private room for massages and then a curtained area for the head massages. My treatment was $150 and I believe worth every penny. My hair still looks amazing two days later! They offer facials and lymphatic massages as well. The salon itself is a bit hard to find, it's on the second floor of the portfolio salon. You'll walk thru the salon and go upstairs to enter the Mood Wellness Spa. It's located on Miracle Mile close to the Carrot Express. While my technician spoke spanish to me, the staff speaks both english and Spanish. You can book the service online, but if you want to book an appointment at the same time as a friend it was super easy to call to get that set up. I loved my experience and would definitely be back.

I had a 3:15 PM appointment for a 30-minute Quick Fix massage, but when I arrived, I was told I would have to wait 45 minutes--without any apology or explanation. Instead, I was just told that they had called my phone several times. But I was already at the spa, relaxing, not checking my phone. The front desk staff member was completely unprofessional and dismissive when I kindly asked for a refund, since I couldn't wait that long or come back another day. She showed no courtesy, didn't apologize, and when she handed me my refund, she coldly said, "OK, that's it," with an attitude. It was beyond rude. The only bright spot was the massage therapist, who actually apologized and admitted that it wasn't right for me to wait that long for a short service. I appreciate his kindness, but the front desk experience left a terrible impression. I was here with two friends for a spa day, and this experience put a damper on the whole thing. For a high-end resort, customer service should be much better. I won't be coming back after this.

The treatment rooms are spacious they have a full shower in the room and the beds with heaters and mobility to lift your legs and back. It was a great massage, but I think what really blew me away and I decided to spend the rest of the day was all of the spa amenities. The spa has a private pool and Jacuzzi outside where you can order lunch. It is so pretty and relaxing and everyone was so quiet and respectful. There were so few people there it feels exclusive and private. The view of the beach gorgeous! Then going back into the women's locker room. The steam room and the sauna are totally top-of-the-line. They also have a shower with cool rain and thunderstorm settings. The steam room, especially was really unique. It's completely dark and then there are these twinkle lights that change colors in the ceiling and they have this rounded seating that you can put your legs up on an ottoman in the center. It's just really well designed and comfortable. The staff in the locker room was so sweet and they have anything you could need from contact solution to styling products for your hair curling iron, blow dryers you name it. For 540 dollars for 90 minutes it's a complete waste. If you have money to burn at least make sure they do a good job. We also ordered salads at the spa and the chicken came ice cold and was rubbery. For 60 dollars a salad you would think they would make sure it's an incredible one. Instead it was a small portion and cold meat. They heated the chicken when we pointed it out but it didn't change the fact that the meat was so dry. The staff is nice here and clean facilities of course. I just thought the food and quality of facial would be impeccable at this luxury price point and sadly it was not.
