Lavash is our favorite Middle Eastern Food spot. My husband is Middle Eastern and this is one of the only middle eastern spots we go to here in Columbus. I love lavash and mixed grill is what we order a lot, as well as shawarma. There isn't a ton of spaces to sit especially if it's busy on the inside but the patio seating is nice in the summer time. We always have a great experience here. We have never had bad service or bad food. Their banana pudding cheesecake is a must have!! I eat it first before my food...lol my husband says you are eating dessert first? yes sir I am. IT is my favorite. I also like their baklava and other desserts but the Banana Pudding Cheesecake is my number 1. read more

We enjoyed a flavorful and delicious lunch at Lavash Cafe! We had shrimp with grilled veggies and tzatziki, hummus, baba ghanoush, rice, salad and warm pita. Every part of the meal was fresh, well seasoned and nicely presented. The water had a hint of lemon, very nice on a hot day. Service was excellent, with two servers offering us a bag for our boxes of leftovers, and the counter person offering us two plates when we said we were splitting the meal. I had heard great things about Lavash, and I absolutely love Greek/Mediterranean food, so needless to say it had been on my list of places to try for quite some time. There is a large parking lot specifically for Lavash right behind the restaurant (off of Tulane Rd), although it's a little tricky to get to if you pull in off of High St -- work your way back to the right and you go through a narrow alley to access the lot. Otherwise, you can park in a lot adjacent to the restaurant in a small shopping strip, which is what I did. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted at the ordering counter. They have a very large case full of delicious looking desserts right next to the counter (smart placement). I ordered a gyro and fries, and made the conscientious decision to hold off on dessert. Once you place your order, they give you a number and you can pick your table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is at picnic tables with umbrellas. It is also partially shaded by grape vines that are beginning to grow (will be very neat when they are in full bloom)! One of the downsides, in my opinion, is that the sandwiches don't come with a side -- you have to get them a la carte. Thus, my gyro and fries came out to $15, which is a little on the pricier side for a casual lunch. Oh well -- I had heard rave reviews so I was willing to pay for a tasty meal. After about 10 minutes, the food was brought out. The gyro was different than any other I have had before in that the pita bread was toasted, crispy and rolled up so tight that you could eat the whole thing in one hand like a small burrito. In addition, the tzatziki sauce comes on the side, so you dip the gyro in it before each bite. The gyro was good, and I ended up liking the crunchy pita and how easy it was to eat without making a mess. However, I think my expectations may have been a bit too high, as I have definitely had better gyros. Combined with it being on the pricier side for a meal, I think 4 stars is just right for this place. read more

We ordered takeout online from their website, which was convenient enough. Grateful for the parking in the back, but the lot is on a hill, and some of the spaces are really unlevel. It was weird parking my car and getting into it whole it wasn't quite upright. The food was quite good, but pickup was very confusing and disorganized. I had to wait in line behind everyone who had yet to order, so that I could ask about my own order, and the employees who went to check on it did not communicate at all. Just went to look and started doing other things without telling me whether it was missing, if I just had to wait, if someone add doublechecking the items... We came here for dinner on a weeknight and it was packed with people for both dine-in and takeout. Ultimately decided on treating myself to some dessert with my meal, and the homemade baklava looked (and tasted!) amazing. They actually have an entire case of desserts up front and I will be slowly making my way through them all over time. The shawarma itself was a little dry, but I think they were backlogged on orders that day so it sat out a little longer that usual before I got to eating it. Once here, we had a little trouble picking what we wanted... everything sounded amazing.... we have since been back since I began this review... and currently picking up to-go. We've tried shrimp kabob, fatoush salad, the rice... and most recently we ordered the combo platter which seems to have a lot of everything ;-) Everything is SO very fresh with a wonderful flavor profile... it brings me back to our travels The fatoush salad is what brings me here, and I stay for the rice. The rice seems to be prepared in a broth -- light, fluffy, and the best part-- it reheats very well. The staff is friendly. If you chose to dine in, service is quick, efficient, and they make you feel at home. The only complaint I have it the parking. This place is very busy (for great reason), and parking is less than ideal. read more

The combo platter is more than enough food for two but we ended up finishing it both times my husband and I went because it's legitimately outstanding. The lamb chops are divine, every bite of everything was heaven. Chicken was the surprise star of the show. I would try anything on the menu. Get the tabouleh instead of the Fatoosh, imo. One of my brother's friends said this place was amazing, so I was excited to try it. I later found out that she says every place is amazing, so I guess we should've taken that recommendation with a grain of salt. The best part about this place is probably its garlic sauce - it has a good proportion of garlic to oil and lemon. The rest of the food we tried there was mediocre at best. The chicken shawarma sandwich I got was okay, but nothing to write home about. The falafel was dense and bland. The bread that came with the meal was cold, hard, and chewy. I tried some baba ghanoush (mashed eggplant), which was incredibly bitter. Based on the experience I had there, I don't think I'll be back, especially with how many great restaurants there are in the Columbus area. read more

There are restaurants you go to where you come away impressed with your experience, and then there are restaurants you go to where you are made to feel at home. Our last trip to Lavash would definitely be in the latter category. We went there with a couple of our friends for dinner on a relatively busy weekend night and had a fantastic time thanks to the food, ambience, and most importantly, the customer service. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a pretty long line at the door. With times like this where we are trying to avoid crowded places, we were initially discouraged. However, the line was moving fast, and we soon realized most of the customers were there for takeout orders (which also worked out great for us since we were planning on dining in). The young lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful in explaining our menu options. Our group of 5 ordered a Combo for two, a Spicy Chicken Kefta platter, a side of Beef Kabob skewers for our picky daughter, French Fries, a Baba Ghanoush appetizer, and Turkish coffee. My wife and I are not into lamb meat, and we were able to substitute the lamb for chicken and beef options (beef options are an upcharge). Despite how busy the restaurant appeared to be with takeout orders, our food arrived very quickly. Everything was excellent and the various meat options were cooked to perfect temperature and seasoning. The Combo for two can easily feed 4 people as both the combos and the appetizers came with plenty of pita bread, Fattoush Salad, and rice. The Hummus and Baba Ghanoush at Lavash are two of the best in Columbus in their respective categories, and the pita bread was warm and a perfect complement to both dips. We also shared a walnut and a pistachio baklava. Our party agreed that the pistachio baklava was tastier of the two. As soon as the food was served (and while we were trying to strategize how to attack the large portions), the owner appeared to check in on us. He told our daughter that if she could finish her Beef kabobs, she would get a cupcake. We initially thought he was probably just joking, but he soon reappeared half an hour later to check in on us again, and once he noticed that she had finished her food, he escorted our daughter to pick out any cupcake of her choosing from the dessert counter. He came back and chatted with us for several minutes and came across as a very humble man trying to serve his customers the best he can. We were all blown away by our interaction with him. Lavash is more of a counter-service type restaurant, but on several occasions a gentleman from the counter came in to check in on us. Even if the food here sucked (the food was amazing), this level of service alone would deserve 5 stars in my books. We all know that times are tough for the restaurant industry. If you want to do your part in supporting a local mom and pop restaurant, look no further than Lavash. It has great food and greater people serving you that food. read more

After discovering Lavash Café in the Local Yelp one day, I came to the realization that I needed to get there pronto! The photos of their food on Yelp had my mouth watering and because of that, I made a point to grab lunch there with a friend ASAP. We arrived to find parking in the back and on the street alongside the restaurant. It was a very busy day (I believe it was a special holiday) and the place was popping at 2:30 in the afternoon. We made our way to the front of the line and the young lady taking our order was the sweetest. She made some great recommendations and seriously sold us on grabbing some baklava before we left. They have a presentation of a large variety of baklava right next to the cashier... I imagine they did that on purpose, ha! We ended up ordering a small hummus appetizer, a falafel sandwich and a gyro. It came out to about $23 and next we grabbed water and a seat outside on their lovely patio. It was a beautiful afternoon and we were jazzed to see outdoor seating. That's always a win in my book! Despite how busy the joint was, our food started coming out rather quickly. We started with our hummus appetizer and oh my goodness. It was divine. Freshly made hummus is very special, nothing like what you buy at the grocery store. It was smooth and flavorful. Heck, I could eat an entire meal of just their hummus, no lie. Our sandwiches came out next and we dove right in. My friend had the gryo and said it was fantastic. I had the falafel sandwich and was blown away by how big it was. Stuffed with falafel, lettuce, tomatoes, hummus, tahini, and parsley, it was all I ever wanted. We both got a side of tzatziki sauce to dribble on and that was fire too. I was so pumped to learn that they offer delivery and there is no doubt in my mind that I'll be back. I had a great meal at Lavash and I'm very pleased that I can get top notch middle eastern food around my corner. The restaurant operates with counter service, but the staff was friendly and eager to explain the numerous daily specials. The owner, Nasir, greeted each table and thanked me personally for dining - I've yet to receive such welcoming service from any other Columbus establishment. I went for a classic falafel sandwich, fries, and baklava. The falafel was fresh and flavorful, with a crispy texture that was just perfect. The sandwich had some tahini sauce and hummus - both were excellent. The fries were also really good - they were cooked perfectly and dusted with a mild spice. The baklava was also very good. I ordered through DoorDash tonight. I wasn't feeling terribly hungry, so I just got one entree (the lamb/beef shawarma) and a small hummus. It was more than enough to feed me, my husband, and toddler... not to mention, I feel like it's a healthier delivery option, and I could basically feed it to my toddler without doing too much other prep, as the meat is tender and cut thin.
