I've had the butter chicken, biryani, and mulligatawny. I recommend them all. Butter chicken is my favorite dish because I find it cozy and comfortable. It's my go to Indian dish which I know is cliched for a white woman but it just warms my soul. I've had a lot of butter chicken with many variations from boring and bland to too spicy for me. Lavash makes a version I enjoy which is full of flavor and spicy in a not hot way. The biryani is hot enough to make my nose run a little, but still not something I'd consider too much. The combo for two was a great deal and included chicken kabob, lamb kabob, lamb kefta, lamb chops, hummus, french fries, fatoush, rice, and pita. Everything was fantastic in the combo with the lamp chops as the run-away MVP. That being said, the pistachio cake is nothing to write home about and I would give it a pass the next time around. My favorite Mediterranean spot in Columbus. I visit this place all the time on my way up and down I-71. It's a great spot located a little north of OSU's campus. Over the past 10 years or so I've seen them expand and it's really impressive how they've maintained such great quality despite increasing demand. I usually get one of the kefta sandwiches (recommend trying it with the Lavash bread at least once) and a large hummus to go that I can eat for breakfast over the week. The meat quality is amazing, everything is made so fresh. Their hummus and pita are exceptional too. Most recently, I split one of their platters with my friends. It comes with a great variety of meat, rice, and appetizers. It's incredibly filling and super delicious. If you like variety I'd highly recommend it! We ordered the family platter for 3-4 and it is an insane amount of food. Easily feeds 5-6. Everything was boxed really well and it tasted fresh even after a 20 min drive home. The fries (unpictured) were amazing. I really liked the chicken kabob and my wife liked everything else. However I thought the beef Schwarma and the beef Kabob tasted over seasoned (way too much pepper) which is why I didn't give them a 5*. Overall still really tasty and we will have leftover for days! I knew this was a popular place in Columbus but finally just tried it. I'm Lebanese so grew up eating authentic middle eastern foods and my standards are high for this kind of food but this place is great!!! The food is prepared well and tastes homemade, especially the hummus, tabouli, Lebanese rice and kibbeh. It's a great price for the amount of food you get too, everything I ordered in the photo was only $20. They give you lots of pita which I appreciate! I ordered the Lavash combo which came with falafel, 2 grape leaves, hummus, and tabouleh. We also ordered some pita on the side which was definitely the move. Historically I've never enjoyed grape leaves but this was the first time I actually ate them and liked them, so high praise for Lavash on pulling that off! Oh how I love Lavash. There is not a negative thing I could say. I've tried almost every item on the menu and I must say, it's all delicious. The staff at lavash is wonderful; everyone is always friendly, happy, and helpful they make you want to come back. The menu is pretty simple and even features gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. My personal favorite is beef/lamb shawarma on pita with a side of hot sauce (and no it's not Frank's). The flavors of lavash are out of this world, they are rich and developed always leaving you wanting more. Everything is fresh and homemade, there is even a display that holds the meat skewers they have for the day. The restaurant is very clean and has a more casual vibe. Just came into Columbus to visit friends and they suggested Lavash for lunch and I'm SO happy they did. Lavash is the one of the best restaurants I've been to, and I've been to a ton of places. The food is fresh with amazing quality. We tried over 5 dishes and all were incredible, especially the lamb chops and baba ghanoush. They get their spices straight from Palestine and it really shows, and probably the most flavorful Mediterranean food I've had. On top of the perfect dishes, the service was phenomenal.
