Madison our server was friendly, attentive and helpful throughout our meal. The restaraunt offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We had the restaurant to ourselves initially so I cannot speak for the acoustics but overall Porcelli's offers a nice atmosphere for dinner. My family of four were eager to enjoy an Italian meal after days of traditional New England style meals. We began with the Strawberry & Burrata Salad and the Polpetti (meatballs with polenta). The starters were okay but the stars of the show came next. Our boys each enjoyed the halibut served with risotto. My husband had the Cacio e Pepe. He said it was as good as any he had while in Rome. I had the Gnocchi Mushroom Ragu. It was one of the top Gnocchi dishes I have had the pleasure of enjoying. Our ten year old son said it was the best gnocchi he has ever had. The texture of the gnocchi and the flavors of the sauce made for a flawless dish. The chef makes all pastas in-house and you can tell. The pasta dishes are exceptional! The entree portions are generous so you won't mind sharing a bite or two with your dining companions. I only wish we would have discovered this gem earlier in our trip. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Porcelli's.

Our appetizers of the shrimp and faggotini were delicious and I enjoyed my bolognese and my husband loved his scallops. Unfortunately I came after looking at an older menu and was really looking forward to seafood pasta, but it doesn't look like they serve that anymore, so make sure you look at the most updated menu since it seems to rotate frequently.

We had the place to ourselves for the first hour or so very quaint and we had the pick of a table. The server was superb with her knowledge and suggestions on what to try. We had a bottle of wine "Nebbiolo" which was so good and our meals (pork w/mushrooms) & Bolognese with all fresh ingredients. The only thing we did notice was the amount of food served on very large plates. Could have had a bit more of everything just saying. Also complimented the Chef throughout to the server and she said he loves to hear people's compliments but when leaving and he just barely acknowledged our compliments. Maybe he was tired but how often do you get a chance to compliment someone especially "The Chef" on their expert cooking. Anyway would we come back in the future but it does have a limited menu so best to check before making any plans.

I NEVER received a response back. NOTHING. Not a chirp. If your response to requests is this poor I can understand why there are negative reviews about the service. Good luck surviving with this lack of professionalism. I will not be attempting another reservation.

The food arrived in a timely manner. We started with the breadsticks, of course. I didn't taste any garlic on them, but then I am a garlic fiend. We both went with the soup and pasta lunch specials. We started with Pasta e Fagioli soup, and as it was endless soup with the special, we followed up with the Chicken & Gnocchi. They were both good. I had the spaghetti with two meatballs, which I see now from a previous review I had once before. Next time I will order the lasagna! I smiled when I saw it comes with just two meatballs, but they are larger than average and was enough for my serving. It was good, but I forgot to ask if I could have thinner pasta with it. I rarely use regular thick spaghetti at home. My wife had the Eggplant Parma which, unlike what the menu picture showed, only came with one eggplant slice! Reminded me of the Gary Muledeer punchline of telling the Maitre D, "My compliments to the photographer!" But it was a good experience overall and I expect we will go back someday. It had been over two years and our lunch specials only went up a dollar, which isn't bad in the new era of inflation.

Food is similar to what I have seen in gas stations and corporate self-serve cafeteria - only more expensive, and no one at the self-serve asked for a tip. There are places to sit and eat what was purchased. There are large windows to watch the activity on the street while eating, so there is that.
