We liked Dr. Lubin. Until she gave our 2-month old tiny daughter a large second-degree burn on her stomach during a routine procedure (for which we were given no warning there was any kind of risk). That was bad enough, and prompted our first-ever ER trip with the baby, but the insult added to injury was another doctor at this office said they'd cover our hospital co-pay.... Then later the office refused. We weren't even asking to be, like, compensated for our upset and the baby's pain, just literally the $400 bill caused by the doctor's negligence. read more

We love Dr. Lubin! We were referred to her by one of my oldest friends, my son was seriously ill, we were new to the city, my pediatrician (40 mins away) referred us to an urgent care...as soon as my friend said, call her, I did...best referral I've ever received. We're never been in the waiting room longer than 10 minutes. Once in the examining room, we've never had to wait too long either. We don't feel rushed, pressured...she's great! Any forms we need filled out for school, she's on it. She returns phone calls promptly. The only down side to seeing her is the parking situation, it's between $5.00 to $8.00. read more

I've only seen this doctor once, but I can't say I enjoyed the visit. She waltzed into the room as I was reading a book to my baby, and after a brief introduction, she immediately started going through a laundry list of what I "had" to do for my baby. She mentioned that I needed to be reading to him every day as if I hadn't already been doing this, which I found condescending. She gave me some advice that left me wondering if she had read any of the latest research in her field (mandatory rice cereal was in there along with erroneous car seat positioning recommendations), and she didn't answer my questions satisfactorily. She was also against BLW, which I've been executing to positive results for two months. She scheduled my son for a nurse appointment for vaccinations. We arrived at the appointment and waited for almost a full hour before we saw a nurse. (We sat alone after EVERYONE else was seen.) The demeanor of my eight-month-old, which was sunshine and rainbows when we arrived, quickly deteriorated over the course of that hour so that when he finally got the vaccinations, he was a wreck. The reason for this? Lubin hadn't put in the orders, so they had to chase her down (I assume) while we waited. We changed doctors to someone who is, hopefully, more organized. Where to start with Dr. Lubin...I have been taking my children to Dr. Lubin for going on15 years. My oldest daught, now 18, had what turned out to be acid reflux as in infant. While all the long sleepless nights, midnight drives and anything else we could think of to help her sleep, pale in comparison to the pain my daughter was in, were essentially the fault of two other pediatricians who misdiagnosed what the problem was. It's easier to write something like this off as colic, but sometimes it isn't. Dr. Lubin asked questions we hadn't beed asked before, examined our daughter and suggested we try a few treatments aimed at acid reflux. They worked. A follow up with a specialist to have our daughter scoped confirmed Dr. Lubin's diagnosis. This is only one example of many in which Dr. Lubin has exceeded expectations. As anyone with children knows, word travels fast among parents and Dr. Lubin was the pedatrician of choice for many of the parents in our various communities. We have continued to bring all three of our children to Dr. Lubin who has had to sometimes overcome challenges in the administration at her old office. I was prompted to write this review because, as I was just browsing around Yelp! I noticed Alejandra R's review. I certainly don't want to discount her experience as it sounds like it was not joy trip. I agree with Alejandra that Lakeside was having challenges which seemed t coincide with it's acqusition.However, this was true at several of their offices I used and not just Dr. Lubin's and as such, I think that the reveiw is more properly aimed at Lakeside Medical than at Dr. Lubin. Additionally, she is no longer with Lakeside and has moved onto a new office on the first floor of the same building. She's with the Facey Medical Group who came through in a pinch for us when my youngest was transistioning to middle school and we needed proof of his immunizations in order for him to enroll (the school wouldn't accept a copy or a fax). So Alejandra, if you ever read this, give it another go! Dr. Lubin is in an office with much better support and much more professionaly managed. Go visit her in her new digs and update your review. For everyone else, you couldn't make a better choice to entrust the health of your children with. Period. read more

I purposefully sought out a female doctor for my young teenage daughter when we she had personal medical issue. We first met Dr. Lubin at Facey Medical Center in Burbank. Her kind bedside manner, and keen knowledge put us at ease. My daughter was going to need surgery at the Children's Hospital, but Dr. Lubin did research for us. She made the calls, asked the right questions, spoke to other doctors, and came back to us with a recommendation on what our next steps should be. I can't say I have ever had a doctor invest personal time like this. She didn't just send us to someone/somewhere else like I expected. The surgery went off perfectly and Dr. Lubin's help was more than appreciated. Your child will be in good hand with Dr. Lubin. 5 Stars! read more

We received appalling and condescending treatment for the first 5 years of our adopted son's life, who clearly came home from the hospital with delays. As new parents of 12-hours notice, we had no idea what we were doing. I searched out respected, professional evaluations repeatedly and brought back to her for referrals and assistance--She failed to educate us about anything, nor instructed or directed us to regional center, where he was qualified for treatment, resulting in lost years' of occupational, physical and sensory therapy. Lots of heartless and dated wisecracks about "adopted" kids, "ADD" and their "real" parents. Abounding "unconscious" medical bias. Front office was a disaster. Referrals for O/T and evals, impossible to track down and she refused to step in and help. I paid for them myself with no insurance referrals. We were new parents seeking help, relying on our pediatrician for advice, guidance. Early intervention was not an option for our son, because we mistakenly trusted this shrill, uncaring pediatrician. I left in tears more often than not. After years of self-pay O/T, speech, physical therapy, and pediatric social therapies, our son is greatly improving. So much of this was avoidable with early intervention. This woman is as dense as sheet rock, ridged and self-important. If your child is nothing but typically developing, run. read more

I am appalled at my recent visit to Dr. Lubin's visit. I have gone 4 times now to the office and the lack of communication is something that needs to be addressed within the office. They don't give you informed consent of what the visit will entail and what to expect before the next visit. She just flies through the appointment, checking off an impersonal list of milestones, and telling you her opinions sternly without trying to get to know your child personally. The recap from our appointment most recently had a few things checked off that we hadn't even remotely discussed which is incredibly dishonest. There seems to be very little communication between the doctors and their front end staff, who are unhelpful and rude. The first time, my daughter was given vaccines that were not properly documented within her file and the doctor had no knowledge of it when I called to discuss questions about my visit. It was corrected after I had to come in in person for their error. I asked several times in my most recent visit for a list of vaccines she is due for and was told by the office manager, nurse and the receptionist that I couldn't receive anything like that because she had no access to that information and I should call the doctor myself. The receptionist, Patsy, was incredibly dismissive and rude and actually held up her finger to my face when I was speaking to her (we had been talking a few minutes and were checking out) in order to check in and take a co-pay for someone who walked in during me checking out. She actually interrupted and shushed me to check in a patient walking in. I couldn't believe it. Before that, she had given me a form to fill out and I asked her a question about it and she said, "I am in the middle of something else! I will help you when I am done." Meanwhile, the other receptionist was reading a magazine. I did everything I could to bite my tongue. read more

Dr. Lubin has seen my two boys for nearly 14 years. I don't think it's possible to express how wonderful she has been! From the very first time she saw my oldest son when he was about 18 months (he's almost 15 now) until today, Dr. Lubin has been terrific. She has treats both of my boys with care, concern, and professionalism. My boys actually ask to go see her when they feel less than heathy. My wife is also a health professional, so she knows what's going on and she wouldn't begin to think about going to see another doctor. Dr. Lubin communicates everything perfectly so we always know what is going on, and she never ever glosses over explanations. If you live anywhere near the Burbank area and are considering changing pediatric doctors, I'm not sure you could do any better than Dr. Lubin! read more

We have been taking our boys to Dr. Lubin for about 15 years - for a reason. Not only is she one of the most thorough doctors we have ever visited, Dr. Lubin goes above and beyond anything asked or even expected of a pediatrician. She not only takes the time to do testing, research and evaluation, but she will then take the time to properly explain her approach and findings. Her motivation is purely to provide a complete examination. I cannot recommend her enough. We view Dr. Lubin to be one of the great doctors in Southern California. You should ABSOLUTELY take your children to her as early as possible so that you can have one doctor tend to your childrens' needs throughout his/her/their childhood. A+. read more

I recently took my daughter in to see Dr. Lubin at Lakeside Medical and was very pleased with the experience. She hates going to the doctors office as much as her Dad and from the time we arrived and checked in with the front desk until the time we left we were treated very well. Dr. Lubin is very professional but at the same time is very personable and my daughter instantly bonded with her. She answered all of my questions and took the time to answer all of my daughters as well. The staff was very nice and Anne (I think she is the manager of the office) stopped us to make sure we were being helped properly and felt comfortable with the Doctor and the staff. I would highly recommend Lakeside and Dr. Lubin and plan to build a long term relationship with her and her office. read more

Let me prefix this by stating that I am a family nurse practitioner by profession and hence, take care of pediatric patients myself. Dr. Lubin has been our pediatrician for the past 3+ years. I can't imagine having a better pediatrician taking care of my kids. Not only is she knowledgeable on caring for this age group, she is extremely compassionate and communicates wonderfully with kids. My 3 year old is always okay going to Dr. Lubin's office, but not her other doctors. My daughter needed a couple of referrals and they both went smoothly, as her office communicated with the other offices, making sure that all medical records and other pertinent information were provided to the office. If you have had experience with referrals, you know that whole process could be agonizing. After my daughter's surgery, Dr. Lubin called several times to check on my daughter's progress even though she was not my daughter's surgeon. In general, she is compassionate, efficient, knowledgeable, and experienced, 4 attributes I believe are essential to a great patient experience. Go with Dr. Lubin, you will not regret it!!! read more

I enjoyed taking my now 6 month old son from the very first time around 5 days since birth. Dr. Lubin is very professional in her demeanor and she obviously knows how to get a smile out of my baby very quickly. She handles him very well. I do feel like the appointments are sometimes rushed and we basically just get her advise for baby reaching milestones which are important. Developing good healthy habits are important to her for my baby to have which will carry out into his childhood and I like that very much! It's a shame that she is not contracted with our current insurance plan which means we have to look for another doctor. In trying to get our insurance worked out - our insurance said they would send some forms for the doctor to fill out - but I didn't quite understand what forms they would be sending. I received a call from Dr. Lubin's M.A. and she explained that the forms were for the doctor to sign off that my son had a medical condition which he has none! I didn't quite like the insinuating tone in her voice that I was expecting the doctor to fill that out and send it back to our insurance. There was no room in her tone of voice that it could have been sent in error - I told her I was not in the business of committing fraud and that the insurance in no way indicated they would be sending that type of form. So I told her I would call my insurance to straighten things out. The M.A. Is nice otherwise and great at administering shots. Will very much miss having my son under Dr. Lubin's care. read more
