I had a wonderful experience at Burbank Pediatrics. The front-staff were inviting yet professional. I had accompanied my little cousin, and aside the exceptional service, I was taken away by the beautiful designs and murals in the waiting rooms. Additionally, they had an adorable little Dachshund named 'Benji', who accompanied me as my little cousin was receiving her annual exam. He was absolutely adorable, and so I could understand why he serves as the mascot for this wonderful office. My children have both been seen by Dr. Frend since they were born. He is so kind and gentle with them, and kind and gentle with us as parents too. We have also seen Dr. Uber on occasion, and she has been great. The nursing and medical assistant staff have been so helpful, and the front office staff is so quick to get us in for an urgent appointment. read more

I wish we could give more stars here. Our son typically goes to Glendale Pediatrics and we needed to see a doctor so Burbank Peds took us the very next day. We were so pleased with the front office staff and the doctor. The facility itself is very child friendly and doesn't feel like a doctors office at all. There are things for little ones to be occupied or a section to just wait. Dr. Uber was just an absolute gem. She made our son for comfortable right away, even though he has never met her before. She caught right away that his clavicle was fractured and had her front office staff put us in touch with a pediatric orthopedic and got us in the same day. We also had some other questions that she went above and beyond for us in answering. We will definitely be coming here as we feel that this office can give our son that little bit of extra care and love read more

I was really disturbed with both the doctor and the nurse coming in, not washing their hands before examining the patient. The doctor only using hand sanitizer before and after examination. They both did not put gloves on when they where in the room. The nurse came in the second time and was wearing gloves. The staff was very nice but I was very disturbed with the lack of cleanliness. If you're looking for a fancy office soliciting five star Yelp reviews, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a no frills practice with an amazing doctor who genuinely cares about your child... this IS the place. Dr. Frend is absolutely incredible. He has a wonderfully calm demeanor, both with kids and parents. We have had to deal with several health "issues", and at each and every turn, I have had ultimate trust in Dr. Frend. Ignore what other reviewers say about reception. If your kid is sick and you call, they're going to get you in that morning. If you need help with insurance, they will help you get it figured out. They're there when it actually matters and I believe they genuinely care... even if they don't jump for joy to greet you at every appointment. (Does that matter??) When my kid is sick, I feel like I have Dr. Frend and Burbank Pediatrics' full support. And that's what every parent wants. After moving, I still drive from Valencia to see him because we've had such a positive experience with Dr. Frend and his office. 100% recommend. After 12 years with BP I am looking for a new pediatrician. After I said out-loud that my child was feeling sensitive about her weight and we had been working on more family walks and cutting back on snacks, Dr. Frend said in front of my 8 year old "Well, there are medications available". She is NOT obese mind you, just a very healthy girl that comes from sturdy stock. It was a very disappointing moment and I will be finding my daughters a doctor that has a little more tack and a lot more modern education on heathy relationships with bodies. The front office has always been a salty crew, but I dealt with them for Dr. Frend, who seemed great with babies. He's not great with young girls who have body image concerns. read more

My daughter loves Dr. Frend. He's patient and kind and willing to listen. He takes his time with my daughter at each visit and reviews her medical file. He asks questions and offers advise. The front staff doesn't ever smile when we come in or when we leave. Which would be nice to greeted in a welcoming way. Guess I am used to it by now. However, im giving 3 stars because unfortunately they have by far the most AWFUL receptionist, Rene who clearly is miserable with her life. All the doctors here are great w. our kids. Dr. Boxstein has been our pediatrician for over 6 years and our kids love him and so do we. He always spends plenty of time w. us. Answers all our questions and explains everything to us. He always puts a great emphasis on nutritional health. The office is always clean and they always manage to squeeze us in in a pinch. The only big time bummer about this office is the staff turn over! Nurses and front office personnel (w. the exception of Rebecca) are always leaving. So don't get attached. Dr. Frend is great ! He is very knowledgeable and responsive to all your needs. Unlike other pediatricians my daughters have had in the past, he always responds to any questions you may have within hours and never makes you feel rushed. When my daughter had pneumonia , he even called the next day to see how she was feeling. I never got that kind of care at UCLA, where you feel you are in a factory Recently, my daughter had an appointment with Dr. Uber and she was incredibly sweet and made sure my daughter got all her labs put in immediately. New patient, your sick child will not be taken in as soon as possible. First send them your child's medical records for review, then they will decide if they will accept him/her after which you can set up an appointment for a future date. Medical records transfer took a week and a half at that point my child was not sick anymore. If your child is sick right now and you decided to see if you can come in as soon as possible, well that's not going to happen "this isn't a place for you" as I was told by the Office Manager while my infant cried through the entire phone call. Also they charge $30 for medical records release. Will harass you if you get concerned about your child after vaccinations, and will turn your sick child down if you dare hope that you can bring them in on the day of illness. Don't expect care here. Don't no body care about you or your sick child. This is a money making business and you are a dollar. read more

Could have sworn that I'd already reviewed Burbank Pediatrics & Dr. Boxstein! Not sure where my review went, but let me give you a live update as we were just there today to take care of some routine stuff & I had some concerns that I wanted to discuss with the Dr. We arrived about 15 minutes early & were seen promptly. Dr. Boxstein has been my son's pediatrician for almost 5 years - wow, time flies! He is knowledgeable, patient, caring & honest. I drive 20 miles to come to his office because he has earned our trust. And I won't be switching doctors any time soon to make it more convenient for me - I would drive 50 miles for Dr. Boxstein! When we first met him, he was touted as the "best" Pediatrician in town & he has more than lived up to his name. He is really, truly a wonderful man. I never feel rushed or talked down to, rather, he speaks to us as a partner would - gathering information to come to the best & most effective course of action/diagnosis for our son. That is important to me in a doctor. On a couple occasions, when Dr. Boxstein hasn't been available, we've seen other physicians in the office who have been equally knowledgeable and attentive. The nurses actually CARE & those that I have interacted with are all lovely people, (though I wish they had more retention with their staff!) Esther is really great with the kids & very laid back. The front office staff has changed over the years, and while I miss Rebecca, I'm sure that I will come to know the receptionist who is currently in the position - she seems wonderful, and I've only met her once. I know it's tough to have to wait in a doctor's office - especially with a small child who is on a schedule, but the truth of the matter is that if I were a patient who needed the extra time and care, I wouldn't want to be rushed just so the doctor could stay on schedule to receive a 5-star yelp review. I've had to wait a few times, yeah - but I'd say they are 90% on schedule & if not, they do their best to inform you without compromising the privacy of other patients. read more

Dr Frend is an amazing doctor who genuinely cares for all his patients. His staff is also excellent and very helpful. When I was pregnant with my second (high risk pregnancy) he immediately took an interest in my care and care for his future patient. He even went above and beyond, checking on my daughter while she was in the NICU ( technically not his patient yet) and was informative and knowledgeable. He and his staff have always displayed a professional and friendly demeanor. Dr Frend and his staff also make sure children receive a same day appointment if need be. His office manager, Holly is extremely attentive and helped my daughter with receiving medical care from a specialist at Children's Hospital. She managed my daughter's case to conclusion and kept me informed thru the process. I can't tell you how reassuring it was to have her help during such a difficult and stressful time. Dr. Boxstein is great! My 5yr old and 10yr old love him....as long as they don't have to get shots lol. He explains everything thoroughly and answers any questions I may have. I especially love that he doesn't try to push unnecessary treatments or visits on the patient like our previous pediatrician did. The staff has been friendly and helpful every time I have come in. They are also great at calming the little ones....and parents lol.....when its time for shots or ear piercing. read more

Dr. Frend gets the star because he is one. A very competent, caring and knowledgeable doctor. However, his office staff has gone from rude to rude and incompetent. Over the last year the ability to keep an appointment apparently has been killed due to, as we were told "a new scheduling system" that was put into place. So the appointment our daughter had was lost and were forced to reschedule. Apparently only one person knows how to set up a schedule so after calling 3 times on multiple days, with requests to have that person call us back so we could reschedule the lost appointment, we finally got the person who could do so. Unfortunately, we were told that we'd have to wait 12-16 weeks before they could see us, even though they lost our initial appointment. An impromptu office request only used to take at most two weeks. The child population of burbank has not grown so much that it should take 6-16 times longer to see Dr. Frend. There's clearly some incompetence, ruddiness or a combination of both going on. This is also hi lighted by the fact that even after updating our payment information over and over, the staff continues to bill older information - then sending out late notices trying to tack on an additional fee for being unable to bill when they tried. Get organized. The staff really has gone to the dogs. Staff issues might outweigh the benefits of seeing Dr. Friend. It appears the recent issues I've face are becoming more frequent among all of his patients by looking at the recent reviews. read more

WORST OFFICE STAFF. After it had been a half an hour past my son's appointment time, I asked the office staff how much longer it would be. They informed me that there were still two other patients ahead of my son. They should have told me he was running so late when I checked in. They were smiling and smirking at me, extremely rude and clearly didn't care. Then they told me that they actually tell people their appt. time is 15 minutes earlier than it really is, so people won't be late ... !??!! I am not a child, and I don't expect to be treated like one. The doctor was standing right there while I was being treated so rudely by the staff, and he didn't say a word. We left and will never return. This is the most unprofessional doctor's office staff I have ever dealt with. We have never once been taken on time, but this time I couldn't handle how I was being treated. read more

I have been asking for immunization card for my daughter who needs to be enrolled into school (Kindergarten) and the office staff is either on leave or the server would be down whenever I call. I am calling them over 2-3 weeks now and there is no sign of getting the card. The admission deadline is approaching soon and I am clueless on what to do.
