It's been almost six years since we began visiting Dr. Kolsi as my son's pediatrician. We've navigated some unusual health issues during this time, and Dr. Kolsi has always provided the best advice and made best decisions. Even when my son was hospitalized for a stomach complication, the only doctor who correctly identified his issue was Dr. Kolsi, not the others. She never requests unnecessary tests and knows exactly what the best treatment is for her patients. She is always responsive, even in the middle of the night if something urgent arises. We've never had a problem making an appointment when our son is sick; it usually just takes one or two days. My daughter used to be a patient since the beginning she was born. On her first appt we had a bad encounter with one of the nurses. She was very rude and very impatient, to the point that my husband had to call her out for her attitude. The encounter left us worry and wondering if we did the right choice to take our little one here, but we decided to keep going because of the great reviews. We would see Dr Kumar and she was great, but the reality is that it was very difficult with the front desk reception. I don't know if the issue with the nurse, rub on to the receptionist, I don't know, but the front desk receptionist was always rude every time we arrive to an appt, always passive aggressive. It was always uncomfortable and I felt like i was walking on eggshells with her: its a shame. Tried to make an appointment for my 2 year old Granddaughter. When asked why I was making the appointment, I replied that my adult son was deaf, has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and nerve neuropathy. I also informed her that none of my grandchildren were deaf, had Ehlers-Danlos nor nerve neuropathy but that my son was interested in the practice because of her resume and to ensure that his children would be monitored and hopefully not inherit from him. My son has a master's from Gallaudet and teaches at our local city colleges but when I asked if they could provide for an interpreter for my son, I was told that doctor was not taking on any new patients, only newborns. I'm sure she is a very good doctor but it should be stated that her practice is ONLY taking on NEW infants. Wouldn't even give a referral! Said my son would have to do his own research and homework. read more

I haven't had a chance to step foot in this office because the receptionist left a horrible taste in my mouth. I asked to see the doctor and come from another pediatrics office in the area that is fully booked. When I called to get to get an appointment, she gave me a time for tomorrow and said that one of the requirements is to obtain prior medical records. So I contact my kid's pediatrician to find out if I can do this by today and as soon as they confirmed I could, I called Dr. Kolsi's office back to book the appointment. The same receptionist I spoke to said I gave her the impression that I only wanted to book Dr Kolsi for a one time visit and that was not acceptable. She wanted me to commit to transferring permanently as a patient. I said that it wasn't explained clearly the first time I called but I was open to the idea of transferring but I couldn't make that call until I actually met with the doctor. I reassured her that if the visit went well, I surely would transfer over. She was hesistant to give me the appointment and hastily said the appointment is no longer available. I then asked where does she refer patients to pediatric urgent care when her patients need to be seen immediately and she was hesistant to give me the information because I was not an established patient. I specified that I was not asking for a referral, but the name of the location. She repeated herself. I asked why the name of a close by urgent care center is such a big secret to keep from her community? Is this not a medical office established to help people? She eventually hastily replied the Children's Hospital. If the doctor is reading this review, I haven't met you and I guess I never will because I couldn't skate past your gate keeper. I would certainly train your staff on communication skills as first impressions count! Perhaps if the receptionist I spoke with this morning, Karina, is reading this- she may take some time to reflect on how the call could have gone better. read more

Absolutely love having Dr. Kolsi AND her staff to take care of my children. They are in such good hands. Both my children have been with Dr. Kolsi since birth (a few years now) for routine checkups, flus/colds, covid, almost everything. I love how easy and convenient it is to reach for help when my kids get sick. The front desk ladies are also knowledgeable so they're always available over the phone during office hours or the doctor will call you as soon as she's available (even on weekends, nights, etc). I am not exaggerating when I say that Dr. Kolsi is the most exceptionally amazing medical professional I have ever known in my life. We had somewhat randomly chosen a pediatrician before my son was born in February of last year, and after a couple appointments, my husband and I didn't have the best gut feeling. One of my co-workers convinced me to switch to Dr. Kolsi when she said, "Oh I love my pediatrician! I wish I could have coffee with her." I was like, sign me up! My first appointment was for my son's four-month wellness visit, and what struck me most was how present Dr. Kolsi was with our son and with us. She spent time answering all our questions and she asked great questions too. She didn't seem rushed. She was so caring and competent. My husband and I agreed that's all we could ever hope for from our son's pediatrician! Ever since then, every experience we've had with Dr. Kolsi has been incredibly positive. We've emailed Dr. Kolsi about falls, food sensitivities, earaches, viruses, and nosebleeds, and she has always replied within a few hours, even in the evenings and on weekends. She called me once about a concern I emailed her about, and I could hear her children playing in the background at home. As first-time parents, I can't describe what a relief it is knowing we have such a dependable, accessible, and compassionate pediatrician. Dr Michelle is the sweetest . She took over Dr Nish's practice a few months ago and at first I was hesitant in how I would like the change since she is so different from Dr Nish but I decided to give her a try . And I'm so glad I did !! My girls love her since she is so sweet with them and also playful . She is very clear in her diagnoses and gives numerous options how to proceed . Also her staff is always so kind and sweet and I can always get an appointment easily . What I love about the place is you don't have to wait long to be seen . They honor the time they give you and get you out before the next patient comes in the office . Also another great change has been that Dr Michelle vamped up the office . She did such a great job !! She also excepts cc now !!! But I still have to warn parents there are about 10-15 steps going up to her office so do not bring your strollers there is no elevator and there really isn't room for it . read more

Dr. Kolsi has been a regular doctor for our baby and she is exceptionally knowledgable person in her field. The reason for my three star review is her unprofessional and rude staff. Front desk older lady and the nurse; need to learn some basic manners/customer service skills, how to treat customers respectfully and most importantly how to deal with small children/infants. Dr. Kolsi please consider retraining your staff or better yet hire qualified candidates to maintain your professional reputation . Unfortunately, I'm having to write this review not because of her service, but because of her billing services. She only accepts PPO and although I have PPO and she's in my network they do not accept your insurance IF the address on the backside of your insurance card does not say CA. Even my insurance company tried to reason with them and they said no. The only way to work with them in my situation is if I'm willing to do the work -- pay cash and submit claims. Their "solution" is not feasible with having two infant babies. It's a shame, I wanted her as the pediatrician for my twins. read more

We switched over to Dr. Kolsi's office last year and we couldn't be happier. She came highly referred by family and friends and we were just tired of the long waits at the pervious pediatric office we were going to. Dr. Kolsi is super sweet with the girls, very patient and very knowledgable. There has been practically zero wait time for all our appointments, she always takes her time and answers all our questions during our visits and we never feel rushed. Her staff is very accommodating and we've always been able to get in same day for a sick visit which was something that was lacking with our previous doctor. Dr. Kolsi is also always available via email and she's very quick to respond to her emails. She's always looking for ways to improve her office and be more available to her patients. Her office just recently added a telemedicine option which I'm excited to try soon. You can actually video chat with her on the weekends and after hours if you can't make it to the office. And all I have to say is "Hi it is Ashley calling for my son/daughter and they get me in right away. I have never had to wait more then a an hour to see her. She also is very to the point, you tell her what is going on and she trusts you as a mother and encourages you even when you were wrong about your mommy diagnosis.
