Our son was with Dr. Gator since he was born. Unfortunately, we recently moved and had to say goodbye. The care we received was always gentle and conscientious, and never rushed. Dr. Gator always let us make the decisions for our family, and he would answer our questions both from a medical standpoint, and as a Father. He was honest and intentional. The entire staff was kind and consent based. My son also liked to get his shots done by Javier (sweet and gentle), and would request him specifically as he got older. We liked going to their office. My husband and I are expecting our first child and were recommended to Dr. Gator's practice. We filled out the form to request more information/interview. After a few days, we were told Dr. Gator is not accepting new clients. I then asked if Dr. Tiffany or Dr. Jenny were accepting new clients. Almost a week goes by and the response I receive is "Dr. Tiff is also not taking at this time." Never in my life have I dealt with such a practice that is so unwelcoming and disinterested in potential patients. After reading other reviews and hearing from someone else who tried to get an interview, it appears they are very "selective" about the patients they choose. I would rather have been told that then have been lied to about the doctors not taking new patients. If this were the case, then update your website. If you are looking for a doctor who is never available, usually closed for one reason or another, has an extremely rude staff and has no answers at all for you, this is the place for you. It took this doctor over a year to order my kids chart from his previous pediatrician. His attitude about basically everything is... "no big deal." You can't get him on the phone, ever. This is a terrible practice. The whole organic, "integrative" line is marketing. There is nothing integrative about it. It's a scam which costs you 500 per year. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME. I've followed Dr. Joel for a while and was excited to visit the practice. The experience was horrible from the first interaction. Javier and Maria both seemed to be unclear on where the paperwork we submitted went. As a result Javier refused to schedule initially. First red flag. Maria was able to find the paperwork and schedule after a week of trying. When we go to the office they demand a $700 fee before meeting Dr Tiff. They they inform us that only $500 is refundable AFTER we already paid. Dr. Tiff was an HOUR late to our appointment. She seemed frazzled and the questions were standard at best. The time was rushed and did not feel like a concierge service at all. I highly advise finding another pediatrician. read more

Hana S.'s review is spot on so I encourage all to read it and wish I had before becoming a patient of Dr. Warsh's. We experienced the exact same level of "care" and after two recent dissatisfactory interactions with Dr. Warsh when my daughter was sick (aloof and short responses, typos, no real medical responses or advice, etc.) I contacted his office to withdraw my daughter as a patient (less than two months after my daughter becoming a patient) and requested a pro-rata refund of the annual membership fee. Surprise surprise they directed me to their policies and won't be refunding a pro-rata refund for the 10 other months in the year where we will not be requiring his care. I will also add that this was a common theme that should have been a red flag to me from the moment the initial phone consultation was scheduled with Dr. Warsh prior to becoming a patient. He showed no interest in learning about our toddler, did not try to explain anything about him or his practice, asked me if I had any questions and then ended the call. We later had the same type of interaction with him for our first and only office visit. You would think he would have questions regarding her medical history at her first appointment or want to get to know his patient meeting her for the first time. Not the case. Said everything seems normal, asked if I had questions and that was it. Zero questions about her. Never even asked to see her prior medical chart. The irony and I think most disappointing aspect is that the type of care we received embodies what is wrong with our medical system - something he publicly portrays himself to be the antithesis of. In general, our experience with Dr Joel revealed that he's more of an aspiring instagram influencer pediatrician. Don't get me wrong, I love Hillary Duff but the incessant emails promoting new products, podcasts, summits, etc. are just extra (and a bit cringey) and I wish he'd put slightly less energy into that and more into actually caring for his real-life patients and their families. Keep in mind there is a $500 annual charge on top of the regular cost of visits. This is meant to ensure Dr Joel takes on minimal patients and is "more available" to those who sign up. Whether that's worth it is up to you and your own experience with him. Our personal issue (and the reason we left) came down to Dr Joel and his office being utterly unwilling to discuss, let alone try to resolve, a simple billing issue. We paid our bill in cash (while we worked to resolve whatever was going on with our insurance), and soon enough our insurance company paid his office. When it came down to a reimbursement, they put up the brick wall and that was that. It was pretty shocking. While I'm generally happy to take it as a lesson learned, something about his office's really off-putting and unhelpful emails made me think I'm probably not the only person who's experienced this. I was advised to file a report with the California state insurance administration & medical board for billing errors. read more

We didn't however love our zoom consult with her and thought (at the time) that we would prefer to work with yourself as you were our original referral. That is when we were told we were "rejected" by your staff. Not after any conflict or tough exchange. I've since spoken with my friend about your seeming lack of boundaries with patients. I am rather disappointed by the quality of care (or lack thereof) provided by this practice as a whole. From the incredibly rude receptionist to Dr. Gator, who, while a nice enough person, was more concerned about how is office looked than the tiny patient in front of him. We came to this practice because of the positive reviews and the fact that the doctors used integrative medicine. We were also lured by the promise of doctor visits in home if need be, and access to the doctor after hours (in case of an emergency). Yet, we always felt a bizarre tension while in the office. At one point, my then 1 year old wanted to run out of the room and look at the wall with adorable artwork all over it. Both Dr. Gator and the receptionist seemed annoyed, as though he were running through an art gallery or museum. The experience made me incredibly uncomfortable - so much so that I refused to go back and made my husband attend future appointments. During our (less than) one year at the practice, we only had one emergency during business hours where my child ran into a piece of furniture. He was bleeding and screaming and my first instinct was to call the office since going to the ER was a terrifying thought at the height of the COVID pandemic. The receptionist told me there was nothing that she could do, no the doctor could not see my child, and we would have to wait until Monday. I was mystified. I attempted to message the doctor via the app and received a similar message also indicating that if I was that worried I should take him to the ER. To my surprise, I was charged a telemedicine fee. I never spoke to the doctor - only received a message - which only piece of medical advice suggested I should go to the ER if I was that worried. When I messaged the doctor about travel, he didn't dispense any scientific medical information that would quell our fears, but said we had to go with what was most comfortable for us. What would have been more comfortable would have been our child's doctor informing us of the real risks to toddlers and not rely Dr. Google. After this call, we were again, charged a telemedicine appt fee. Of the 6 in person appointments in 9 months that we made for our child, (3 of which were for spaced out vaccines, 1 was a well baby visit, 1 for an ear infection and one for the face injury incident), the office called to ask to reschedule 4 of them. This is something I think I have experienced once in my entire life - but 4 times? The final straw came with membership billing. We became patients well into the new year and were surprised that we were charged for the full year. Ok, this is something we could swallow. What was outrageous was that we were charged for another year at the very beginning of December. When I questioned the office, I was informed that I would have had to cancel before the charge was made to my card. I explained that I was under the rational impression that the charge would come, but not during the first week of December - and could they point me to where it stated on their site or elsewhere that we would be charged so early in the month. My inquiry went unanswered and I was forced to pay a cancellation fee of $75. The whole experience felt extremely impersonal and further solidified my belief that the practice cares more about money and appearances than patients - at least this has been my experience. read more

The absolute best doctor and team! I love that Dr. Warsh always took his time with us, asked my daughter questions directly related to how she was feeling and was always available. The convenience of having a concierge doctor who you can text (on a special app) email and always have at the ready makes a huge difference, especially in the early years with a little one. His approach was always kind and he always gave us multiple options for whatever was in question. I would be more inclined to listen to the negative reviews here. And I'm only leaving this review publicly because they never responded to me during or private exchanges. We decided to leave Dr. Joel less than a year into working with him, even though we paid for two years of membership fees. While I read and understood the contract, I pursued a refund for the second year because of how unhappy we were with his practice. When prompted, I wrote a lengthy review for them in our email exchanges detailing why we were unhappy. I never got a response, and Dr. Joel blocked me on Instagram (an account where I don't agree with some of the content, but had never once engaged with). This is very strange, unprofessional behavior, and does not align with this "we should be free to talk about things openly" mantra he's always preaching. At this point it's not even about the refund, but the integrity of the practice- they clearly do not care about my feedback or how we were treated. There are several personal reasons why we were unhappy with Dr. Joel and IPM. To sum up our experience, we always felt awkward and rushed in the office. As new parents, he always asked us "what else" we wanted to talk about, rather than guiding the conversation. We were literally five minutes late for our four month appt. and the receptionist scolded us saying we would be charged next time. I was suffering from PPD/PPA and was mortified, and will never forget how she made me feel. I shared this during my email review and nothing in response. The "OhMD" app was not worth the membership fee we were paying, because every time we were in a moment of worry the only responses we would ever get were along the lines of "you can go to urgent care or the ER if you're worried". Nothing to quell the fears of new parents. I also expressed my concern for some of the shameful rhetoric he was posting on Instagram targeting food and parents (posts that have since been deleted). It saddens me this is how they treat parents, and that as a practice they don't want to listen or improve. We feel so blessed to have been referred to Dr. Joel just as he was opening his own practice right in our neighborhood and just as we were expecting our 4th ;) Before discovering Dr. Joel we trekked from the valley to the city for the rare pediatrician who practiced traditional western medicine while incorporating alternative holistic approaches to health at the same time. In Dr. Joel we have now found an integrative practitioner who is not only local but seems to hold wisdom, patience, and knowledge far beyond his years! Dr. Joel truly seeks to learn all he can about each patient, their family history, and personal make-up that helps determine his course of action and thorough follow-up care. Being a busy mom of 3 plus a newborn, it was so reassuring and comforting to have Dr. Joel in our corner, often checking in on us via text or email when baby was just born, and then consistently following up with us as baby grows and encounters ear infections or other occasional ailments. Through 10 years of parenting our now 4 children, I can honestly say we have never experienced such capable and compassionate care as we have found with Dr. Joel, and his amazing assistant, Maria! Really disappointed. They pulled over $1000+ out of our account without notifying us and was incredibly difficult to get back. We had an insurance issue where they thought we had other insurance so they retracted all claims but I called our ins company and fixed the issue and they STILL wouldn't give us our money back so they actually had $2000+ from double billing. Integrative's billing department can ONLY be contacted through email and at their leisure. They blamed us for the issue and told use we had to work with our insurance to fix it. I had to call our insurance company several times and ended up getting a certified letter from our insurance company stating that they didn't take any money from the health care provider. Our ins company tried to call them but they don't accept phone calls?! And wouldn't call our insurance company?! How does Integrative not know that the money wasn't retracted?! We have about 6 other health care providers who also had this issue and were all kind and patient and contacted the insurance company themselves and made it easy. But Integrative wouldn't refund our money, it took weeks! Not sure if this is a scam or they're just lazy or dumb but this was a HORRIBLE way to treat customers. Tiffany was nice in person and all and said verbally that we could get a partial refund since we were moving but I never received it and when I messaged them I was given a cold, 'there are our terms, no refunds' response. Their front desk is pretty cold and unhelpful, they don't much outside of scheduling. Awful! read more

My husband and I were referred to Dr. Joel by Dr. Sayana - an MD with a holistic approach to medicine. We were impressed by Dr. Joel's inclusiveness for patients like us that want a doctor with a western education but also will seriously look at nutrition and alternative health modalities in caring for our child. We chose Dr. Joel to be the pediatrician for our newborn when I was pregnant after an introductory meeting to ask about his background and approach with herbs, vaccines, nutrition etc... He was great at listening and discussing all of our concerns. It was key to have picked a pediatrician before our baby was born because after exposure to meconium during birth our baby had a fever, issues with band count, and weight issues in the hospital. Dr. Joel returned our calls from the hospital and walked us through what formula would be good as a temporary measure to get us through the first few days. After three visits at his beautiful office (our newborn got a cold just at 2 weeks old!) we are very happy to have chosen him. I had a phone parent interview with Dr. Tiff and 20 minutes later, received a decline email. I'm not sure why. There was no mention of what I was looking for wasn't an option. Considering we already see a Naturopath, I'm well aware of integrative medicine and how it works. The only odd question was related to vaccines. My kids attend public school, so they are up to date on vaccines. I was really hoping to find a doctor who wanted to get to the root cause of the issues. Guess that's not what they do here. Oh well. Terrible experience. We were referred to Dr. Joel by both our OB and midwife. We called to make an appointment with Dr. Joel explaining how we came to be referred. The assistant who fielded calls was short and very curt but we persevered in scheduling an appointment. After an initial call with Dr. Tiffany, we followed up again (there was zero follow up on their part following the intake) to let the office know that we would really love to work with Dr. Joel, given that our referral originated through him. We were then told that our file was "rejected" (literally, those words) without any explanation or further information. My husband pressed (the same) ill-tempered assistant for more info on how that came to be and why, was offered none (Beyond "we have no idea why Dr. Joel makes the decisions he makes") and after what was an uncomfortable exchange, got off the phone. Truly disappointed that a practice would field incoming clients this way and having read similar reviews it appears to be a pattern. While I understand the Dr. may be busy and not able to take on every client that comes his way, to be treated without care or more explanation was disheartening. Dr. Joel - As I see that your practice tends to reply to (predominantly only) the negative reviews on Yelp, use this forum as intended for business owners and take this as a suggestion to both train your staff better and be better here as a whole. We moved from the west side to the valley and we're pretty sad to leave our pediatrician. Until I found Dr. Warsh. I was having my second baby and finding a pediatrician all over again was not something I was looking forward to. I was so lucky to find Dr. Warsh. It's nice to rely on someone that you feel confident in. Even when he was having his first baby, he was easy to get ahold of (of course the kids got sick those few weeks he was off). He takes the time to answer all of your questions, is open and accepting of your concerns and has no judgement. Something that is hard to find as a parent. If you need a progressive pediatrician, this is your guy. Oh and his office is amazing, added bonus. read more

To say that Dr. Warsh is an excellent doctor, would be an understatement! I am an alternative medicine practitioner myself, so I know a thing or two about good Doctors and great offices. Don't be deceived by his seemingly youthful looks and simple, down-to-earth, personal style... he is brilliant at his work and is really adept at handling kids. He is absolutely transparent with parents; giving his professional opinions on his cases, while totally respecting parents' choices. I have watched him handle sensitive subjects like vaccinations, with great sensitivity and compassion. He's one of the handful of Drs who probably call their clients to follow up on reports, and respond during personal time at odd hours of the day in case of emergencies. He has a strong sense of responsibility towards the client community he serves. Even at his busiest hour, he walks out to welcome his clients to his private office. Maria is a delight. A compassionate, caring person who goes beyond the usual to get the best for patients and the office. Diligent, careful and truly helpful. I believe they have recently added more staff due to the sheer volume picking up recently. What is significant is he works in collaboration with a team of practitioners, giving recommendations for alternative modalities where more effective/ helpful - something quite rare to come by from traditional MDs. The office is very aesthetically designed, welcoming, and bright. Never feels like you're being herded into a room at the end of a long corridor, not sure if anyone knows you're there! Doctor Warsh is the best pediatrician ever! He is VERY knowledgeable, very smart, very kind, very calm, and very professional doctor, and he truly cares about his patients! I am first-time-mom, and I had tons of questions for Dr. Warsh, some of my questions were probably not even worth time answering. However, Doctor Warsh made me feel very comfortable! He took ALL my questions and concerns very seriously, he took a long time to answer each one of them thoroughly. He replied quickly to every email I sent him regarding any issue I had. His office is very organized, on point with scheduling appointments, punctuality, and cleanliness! We never had to wait for him, and never felt rushed. Every room at his office is remodeled, clean, smells good, and very nicely decorated for children with toys and wall stickers. Very well designed for little kids! I feel like my home nursery isn't as good as Dr. Warsh's office! Every time we visited Dr. Warsh was beyond pleasant experience for us and our baby daughter. In addition, Doctor Warsh is very understanding when it comes to the payments. We had a long ongoing confusion with our insurance company, and Dr. Warsh didn't receive the payment for a couple of months from the insurance. We sent him a payment via personal check after all the waiting time, but he wouldn't even cash it out because he wanted to make sure that the insurance will cover the visit cost. He waited until it was all clarified and the insurance payment finally went through. Doctor Warsh is the best! I was so happy that we found him in Los Angeles.
