I came to the playground and splash area with my two daughters this summer. The playground is amazing. It is gated and is connected to the splash area which opens at 10. The only downfall is that it is all in the open sun so the playground does get pretty hot if its a hot summer day. But then you can cool off in the water. It was right by the water so I enjoyed the scenery. read more

It is park of the athletic fields facility. Lovely walks along the water. Beautiful views of the sunset. You can walk to the area with the turnpike over you. Overall pleasant. Usually not very crowded off season. Easy to get parking. read more

For the love of god please! If you want to walk your dog along the trail path. Where people jog, walk, ride bikes. Keep your dogs on a leash!! Or take your dog to the dog park area. It's totally unfair to people that want to exercise. too many dogs without their leashes on! Which is so unfair when I actually live in the community. It needs to be lots more police at Laurel Hill park to enforce this rule!!! read more

Nice park nearby the Secaucus junction with ball fields, a kids park, kayak rentals, walking trails, a fishing pier and a very creepy past! Google Snake Hill NJ and you'll learn this was the former site of the Hudson County Burial grounds... with close proximity of this park over 4,700 bodies were excavated and moved to a cemetery in Hackensack. Creepy cool. Have fun exploring and you no longer have to wonder why you may sense a presence or feel your hairs stand on end. read more

I love this park, absolutely beautiful for a relaxing evening walk. One suggestion, PLEASE move the large rocks that are so close to the corners going in and out of the parking lots. When turning in to the narrow parking lot entrances, the are very easy to hit. I scratched up the bottom of my car because of this. read more

It is definitely not the easiest park to find. It was almost comical when I first tried to come here. My GPS kept me going in circles. With that being said, head towards Field Station Dinosaurs and follow the service road all the way down. You will first get to a boat dock, and if you keep going you will eventually come to the park. On the left, you have two softball fields and behind the softball field is a very nice looking baseball/soccer field with field turf. On your right towards the Hackensack River you will find lots of park benches, swings for the children, a gazebo and a couple of picnic tables. I did notice a sign that said "No barbeque or cooking out". So if you wanted to have a nice picnic here it will have to be sandwiches, salads, etc. They have a long path for jogging or biking that runs all the way to the new constructions of condominiums called Xchange at Secaucus Junction. When all the construction is done, I can see this as a very popular park for the residents and locals. read more

Cool park. Nice fields and lots of activities around - good place for running, biking, or just relaxing and unwinding a bit. It's along the water, so they have canoe and kayak rentals, and I believe they have a boat launch as well which both make cool additions to the park. I came here first to check out the large rock formation, called Snake Hill. It's really awesome to see up close and I recommend everyone stops down here to check it out instead of just driving past on the turnpike. read more

There is a boat launch , do bring your boat , jet ski , kayak or canoe . Bring your fishing rods and fish . There is a kayak and canoe rental for 25 for the whole day .the proceeds are used for conservation of the river and area . Lots of seating areas ... It's truly beautiful . Disturbing. After taking a bike ride with a friend we found a marker saying the bodies were moved ? This site is on the grounds of an old tuberculosis and mental disease hospital. Thousands of graves are under you. Too spooky. A quick lookup of its history and I will never go back. What's the deal with the old smoke stack covered with weird graffiti ? Good place for ghost hunting at night. read more

So this year, the softball league I play for is using these fields for the first time. It was a little hard to find the first time looking for the fields.. The GPS did not exactly make sense sense but easy to find just by following the signs located on the road. Pros: Overall, they are a pleasure playing on. We have used one of their dirt fields and one of their turf fields so far. The turf field is absolutely gorgeous! The dugouts for turf field is extremely spacious and is very clean. The dirt field is also maintained quite well also. The outfield is nice and grassy and the infield is also a great place to play on as well. The dugouts are average on the dirt field. There is also plenty of parking which is great if you have two teams playing on both fields which are right across from one another. Negatives: The fields tend to get a little buggy and the portable bathrooms could be much cleaner then they are. read more

It's not great and the water itself is polluted but at least it's a respite from the surrounding industrialized area. It's a decent green space the public can visit, get some exercise, run track, play some sports. There's access to the water too which is still quite pretty despite the pollution. Hopefully it'll be cleaned one day... A fat groundhog hangs out near his burrow nearby. It looks like a lot of construction is underway near the cliff which supports the New Jersey Turnpike. Laurel Hill Park is separate from the adjacent Dinosaur Park. A fee is required to enter the dinosaur area. read more

Big park. Has a boat launch, dog park, veggie garden and a large field for sports or exercising. It even has a play ground. Sadly, the playground is extremely dated. The playground floor is uneven, coming up and is even missing in some areas. The equipment is old. Not sure if it's covid related but I've lived at the at xchange for over a year now and the entire time the play ground has been gated off by some cheap make shift fence that has been ripped down in some areas exposing metal. I'm always confused if the playground is supposed s to be closed but yet there are always a large number of kids playing. Looks very unsafe. If it's closed well then maybe a better fencing should be installed for the safety of the kids. And if it's open, we'll then maybe the exposed metal should be removed before someone really gets hurt. Aside from the playground, the sunsets are really nice. Great place for picnics. Forewarning, lots of mosquitos in the evening during the summer, come with big spray! read more

Im always going to this park running, bicycle you can even rent a canu or bring you jet ski. This park is perfect for new Yorkers just because the it is located 7 min walk from secaucus junction (the main train station) so If you are planning on fun day with your family outside the city that would be the place. read more

Great place with a lot of history! Snake hill is a nice place to spend the afternoon! Big wide open field for sports or picnics. I hear the Hackensack River Keeper holds eco cruises which can prove to be to be a fun adventure. I have met the Hackensack Riverkeeper and he is an awesome guy! Other marine activities like canoeing are to be enjoyed here! Haven't been on the water yet but will update as soon as I get a chance to. This place has a great history as well! The Wikipedia page on this park will tell you all about it. Also cool thing to note is the geology of the area. It started out as a penitentiary quarry. If you think of prisoners breaking open rocks in the hot sun that is basically the beginning of mining in the area. It was extensively quarried for it's diabase until 1982. Nice specimens of magnetite crystrals, malachite, chalcopyrite, stillbite, as well as other trap rock minerals have been found here. Collecting is no longer allowed. Quarry is fenced in and posted against trespassing. Also falling boulders from the quarry landing on the path below have been an issue in the past. (EDIT APRIL 29TH 2015. Here is some mineralogical information on this park http://www.mindat.org/loc-5823.html ) Also dinosaur park nearby is great for kids and is educational. Especially those kids who love dinosaurs. Haven't checked it out yet but will review it if I ever do. Lastly, don't leave a mess and clean up after yourself! read more

This is a wonderful area to explore. So much wildlife and also great views of the city and the rock quarry is a fun area to explore although it is fenced off. We took the kids there so bathrooms are always a top concern and that's the only negative here (and it's a big one). They just have a few portable toilets like at fairs and festivals and they didn't seem well kept, I think that's the most polite way I can phrase it. But you can drive a very very short distance to Secaucus Junction and use their facilities, so that's what we would do in the future. It's really a wonderful park and feels like a secret, not crowded on the weekend at all. read more
