This is a great park that allows you to enjoy NYC without actually going there. I decided to avoid the city during my last visit to NJ so this was the next best thing. The NYC skyline view is absolutely incredible from here. The park also has some important history. It was the site of a dueling grounds, particularly where Aaron Burr famously shot Alexander Hamilton. Walk toward the right and you will find the plaque and statue. There are several other statues in the park, commemorating Weehawken casualties of past wars. There are some benches available to sit and admire the view. While it's not a large park, it's definitely a lovely spot to spend an hour or so. Parking was easy on the street (early Friday afternoon). It was allowed (free) for up to 4 hours for visitors (non-permit). I'm sure it's less easy to find an open spot on the weekends.

    Beautiful view

Love coming here to get amazing views of New York. It's a nice long path to walk especially early in the morning when the world is still sleeping. So much history to look at too with war statues and information on them.

From a strictly recreational perspective, Hamilton Park doesn't have a lot going for it, but it's quite unique historically. When you visit this park, you'll see a memorial dedicated to one of our Founding Fathers.  This is the place where (on a rock you'll see in the memorial) Alexander Hamilton rested after being mortally wounded in his duel with Aaron Burr. Over and above the historical significance, you can also enjoy the view of the NYC skyline from here.

Amazing little park just off the NJ Turnpike. Great place to view the city and the river. A must for Hamilton fans!! One key bit of intel is that the dueling ground commemoration and Hamilton bust are actually nearly.25 miles west of the park.

Hello Yelpers... its been a long boring imprisoned at home due to COVID and after March, 11, we decided to go for a quick drive. We always love the Hudson riverside + New York skyline view. Hoboken, Exchange Place, Pier, and now we came across this Hamilton park. ( Hoboken is still my fav). We prepared ourselves. Mask-sanitizer-gloves and dedicated to maintaining social distancing. There are the new social norms now and it will stay, so folks, please adhere. Why this holds historical significance- Burr-Hamilton duel, duel fought between U.S. Vice Pres. Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton, former first secretary of the U.S. Treasury, on July 11, 1804, in Weehawken, New Jersey, that resulted in the death of Hamilton the following day. The Burr-Hamilton duel is one of the most famous personal conflicts in American history. It was a pistol duel that arose from long-standing personal bitterness that developed between the two men over the course of several years. Tension rose with Hamilton's journalistic defamation of Burr's character during the 1804 New York gubernatorial race, in which Burr was a candidate. Burr shot Hamilton, while Hamilton's shot broke a tree branch directly above Burr's head. The actual rock "on which rested the head of Alexander Hamilton" after he was mortally wounded is now a monument and yes, famous hit Broadway musical Hamilton is based on this. Go for it..!! This is a beautiful picturesque cliff along the Hudson River, overlooking the island of Manhattan. Diff between other parks and this is, it provided the cliff view of Manhattan, unlike others. an excellent view of NYC out over the water, where you can clearly see all the buildings and all the areas of NYC, from a distance. It's especially nice during the evening when it starts to get dark, and the city lights start to show. It is a very small park and 30 minutes is enough for this. Mind it, due to the COVID situation, there is a guard who maintains the no of people in the park and you might have to stand in the Q to enter. Also, Wear masks all the time ( Guard allows to remove mask for a picture but that's only for a couple of seconds), maintain 6 feet distance. Open from 7 AM to midnight. The perfect destination for a late-night jog. This area always had breathtaking views with locals and tourists coming to enjoy the scene. The park is super lively now due to all the visitors definitely worth enjoying its charm and taking some amazing photos. #HiddenGem

We stopped at Hamilton Park on the opposite side of the river of NYC. What I knew going into this was that we were going to see where Alexander Hamilton had a duel with Aaron Burr the Vice President of the United States and the First Treasurer for the US. I couldn't imagine our VP of the US past or present having a gun duel with the Treasurer of the US. Not only is this where this happened but this park serves as a location that provides an incredible skyline view of New York City. This is where you get to see how large the skyline really is. It's absolutely long and narrow. Such a wonderful view. Worth visiting. The views are priceless and is so worth it. They have benches to sit and relax and enjoy the view.

A very great park to view the Hudson River and Manhattan, New York skyline. It's also a great place to relax and get fresh air.

A M A Z I NG skyline views! By far the best scenic shot of the skyline in the area. This is the perfect city-landscape for a photo shoot. On weekends there's a high chance you'll see groups taking engagement/wedding/celebration photos. As for parking, it's usually packed (side streets). Free parking on the side streets on Sunday though! There's also a set of stairs that takes you down to edgewater. However, it might be too much for those that are afraid of heights - the climb up would be harder for folks as the stairs are designed in a way where it's open and you see the ground below.

Awesome view of NYC skyline over the Hudson River Free side street parallel parking available in a quiet neighborhood. It's worth the visit since we stayed down the street by the Newport Path train station.

We were looking for a place to see NYC skyline from NJ side and found this place. Gorgeous night view. We parked along the road and there were descent amount of parking spaces. So it was very convenient. Highly recommended. Would definitely come back again while in town.

Welcome to THE view of Manhattan. Hamilton Park is a shining example (with historical significance) of why I much prefer to live in NJ. Work in the city, go home, look at the city. While i'm not fortunate enough to have one of the houses on Boulevard E (talk about a permanently unobstructed view), I do live close by, and my Weehawken parking sticker allows for parking anywhere along the street without issue. With out without that sticker, parking difficulty largely depends on the day of the week and time you choose to visit. Day or night, you'll get some absolutely fantastic city shots; a properly taken panoramic will get most of the city - up from the GW down to the World Trade Center. When it's nice it can get a little crowded by the fence, but i've never found it to be prohibitively busy. Good for: -Special occasion photos -Professional photos -Picnics (bring food and drink, plop yourself on a bench or on the grass) -Watching fireworks -Bringing people that don't live here -Watching the city lights come on as the sun sets Annnnnd...showing people why Jersey amazing, because it is.

Great park to come visit if you want a spectacular view of Manhattan. The park itself is nestled atop the palisades overlooking the city. I would give this place 5 stars however they don't allow you to eat here, and really what's more romantic than a picnic in a park? Answer: A picnic in a park overlooking Manhattan.

Before this past year or two I had only known Alexander Hamilton as the 'one of the founding fathers who died in a duel.' Of course the musical of his name-sake changed that, and that was only by listening to the album. Visiting the purported site where Alexander Hamilton was shot became a necessary stop. There's a nice little monument and kind of like a petite square in the park, at the edge of a cliff. There is a beautiful view of the coast below. Except, you won't be occupied with the view of Weehawken coast line. It's the skyline of New York that you will be enamored by. Oh my.... words cannot describe the view. New York is so massive a city, to see it all in one view is amazing. And being about 100 feet above the water at the park is amazing. Even in those early years, as foolish as a duel is, I couldn't imagine a better spot to have one.

Sometimes life gets so hectic that I don't stop and smell the roses. I find myself so focused on what's next or what I have to do later in the day to get one step closer to generational wealth that I just don't sit and enjoy the present moment. Pier C Park brought me straight back to present time. Standing on this little hill floating in the Hudson River, I could see the entire New York Skyline. A quote from one of my favorite books echoed between my ears: "I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York's skyline...The sky over New York and the will of man made visible. What other religion do we need?" I tend to agree. I just sat here for a bit, smelling the roses for the first time in a while. How lucky am I to just sit here and be able to look at this? I had no real purpose in my life other than writing these silly reviews in the morning before work. I don't even know why I love it so much, but I do. It's my little creative outlet. This passion for writing slowly trickled to a passion for making videos. So, at the beginning of this year, I made an agreement with myself that I would shoot, edit, and post between 150-200 videos no matter what. I don't care what thoughts were inevitably going to creep in to try and talk me out of it, I'm doing this. Kobe Bryant, my childhood hero, put it best when he said "I'm not negotiating with myself. The deal has already been made. I signed that contract with myself. I'm doing it." All this to say, I've been on an absolute SPRINT this year. I'm exhausted and drained, but it's been worth it. I started the year with 5,101 followers, and today (Aug 6th) I have 75.5k. I hate judging things off of follower counts, but it is the best metric to depict what success looks like doing this. This past Sunday I was damn near bed ridden sick, but I heard Kobe's voice in my head so I dragged myself out of bed to Hoboken to go do another video. I got off the Path train and started walking, when I turned my head to the right and saw one of the most beautiful views I've seen this year at Pier A Park. A huge grassy plain, with a full view of the New York City Skyline from nose to tail across the Hudson River. It felt like a green screen. It made me pause and be present for the first time in awhile. I've been running so fast at this goal that I haven't really appreciated the journey at all, but this view forced me to stop and smell the roses. I just sat here for 30 minutes thinking "damn life is so beautiful and human beings are amazing." It reminds me of that allegory in the Alchemist when the wise man tells a boy to go explore all the marvels of a magnificent palace, but instructs him to carry a spoon with two drops of oil without spilling any. The first time he comes back with all the oil but misses all the beauty of the palace. The 2nd time he comes back having seen everything there is to see, but has no oil in the spoon. The wiseman concludes by saying "The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never forget the drops of oil on the spoon." You're probably like wtf is wrong with this guy hijacking this review of Pier A park to trauma dump, and that's fair. I'm a little crazy for sure. Shoutout to Pier A park though. It's nice to stop and smell the roses every once in a while. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
