A beautiful day at Overpeck County Park. We came here a few years ago, returned today to explore more of the park than our first visit. There are trails, tracks, fields, a big playground, huge space to explore what the park has to offer. We live so close by, we will take more of an opportunity to explore more. read more

What an amazing time I had for the 4th of July at Overpeck park-Organizers great job -parking was awesome as they allowed disabled access parking which allowed my mother in law close access to activities. Music was better than great everyone dancing singing-Tommy Fox was stationed for beers wine -they had a great spot and had their own portable potty for guests-didn't have to wait on long lines for public bathroom. The fireworks were great expected better but good job -now leaving parking lot was crazy they sent all cars in one direction instead of utilizing all exits-took us an hour before we were out of the mess-but all in all nice time -let me not forget the delicious corn beef sandwich we bought from Pastrami grill from Garfield NJ -look them up read more

I love Overpeck county park! The park is very big, with tracks and fields, picnic and fishing areas, a children's playground, a canoe/kayak launch, a grass amphitheater, walking/bike trails, dog park, and much more! It's a great place to go alone or with the family. Plenty of room to walk, run, bike, etc. It's very scenic and the views are beautiful. My only complaints are there's not enough shade around the children's playground or places to sit. They should also get rid of the mulch at the playground and use rubber flooring like everywhere else. read more

Beautiful, well maintained, and plenty of walking trails. Fall colors were on display. I saw sports fields and a person kayaking in the lake. Lots of nature to explore. You can see NYC from the hills. We tried to check out the equestrian center, but not much was happening. No horses roaming the paddocks. Crossed the road to see the 9/11 memorial. It's in another beautiful field with a walking path surrounding it. The grass was mushy in some places but the dogs playing didn't seem to mind. Plenty of parking and clean bathrooms by the amphitheater. A really great park! read more

Overpeck Park, quite famous among the residents of Bergen County, both sides of Fort Lee Road. Whether you like the old one with the tennis court & volleyball court, or the new one with Amphitheater, Ridgefield Park Baseball field & playground, it is a wonderful park to walk around. The dog park is another merit too. Parking can be a bit difficult when there is an event at the Amphitheater, but usually, there are about 3 lots. The only disadvantage is that there is no shade. No tree whatsoever, not enough benches to sit down. So during the summer, it is not pleasant to be out in there. So expansive and no where to rest. The grand lawn is good for those who want to have a picnic. There is also a place where you can rent kayaks. read more

A beautiful, spacious park that has been recently renovated over the years, bordering water on one side, and offering huge fields of grass and a track on the other, it's a Park you'll want to explore on multiple occasions. With quarantine beginning to lift there are tons of families, couples, dogs, people looking to work out swarming the park. Even though it seems like there are a lot of people given the parking, it's not such a stressful process waiting to nab somebody's spot. Whether its a picnic, rollerblading, a dog park you're looking for, this park is well kept, offers garbages everywhere, and once we move into future phases will open up its tennis courts and other organized activities. *** IMPORTANT - the last couple of times I came to this park, the bathroom facilities which are usually pretty nice were completely closed off. There are no porta potties or other options except to stop drinking or to run to the Shoprite down the street. I've been coming to this park for so many years and it seems like it's continuously well kept and grounds for so many people to enjoy. read more

Probably the best park in Bergen county. The park is divided in half by Fort Lee Road. The north side of the park houses the dinosaur park (field station: dinosaurs), tennis courts, a nice running track and a bit over a mile long running trail. The south side also has a nice long running trail, as well as a playground, a lake with kayak rentals, an amphitheater, and baseball and soccer fields. The playground is really nice and there are usually lots of kids on nice days. There is ample parking in the lot adjacent to the playground. The playground is divided into little kid and big kid sections with age appropriate slides and playground equipment. I've seen someone mention this and I confirm it's true, there aren't many big shade-providing trees in this park. read more

I really enjoy being in this park it has helped with my physical and mental health however I see maintenance workers not doing anything I took a fall there are patches of ice in different areas that are not being addressed after I fell maintenance started putting ice melt down I'm sure they that Mr. Mike in charge of maintenance is aware . The views are amazing you see some of the same people. Whom ever is in charge do your job to keep the us safe so that we can enjoy going to the park. Why is maintenance around but the park isn't being made safe for us that really enjoy being here. read more

Overpeck County Park has quickly become one of my favorite hangouts for bird and wildlife photography in Bergen County, New Jersey. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes when humans don't develop locations for housing and commercial, but instead to help reclaim nature. What was once a garbage dump (landfill) is now a thriving ecosystem for flora and fauna. One moment you can be flying a kite the next you're observing multiple bald eagles flying overhead. You can kayak and fish in the summer, you can jog or walk the many paved pathways, and you can even catch a concert in June through August. For wildlife and nature enthusiast... Especially photographers, bring extra batteries and SD cards because you're gonna need it. The amount of birds that you will find is unbelievable. There's plenty of parking, clean, bathrooms, and even charging stations for your car. Enjoy.! read more

This is a lovely sized park not far from Manhattan and main highways where one can bike, run, kayak, picnic and more. I visited for the first time today for kayaking and it was quite crowded considering the holiday weekend. In fact, when we left, there didn't seem to be any life jackets available. The park was serene and beautiful with staff on hand being very helpful. If you've never tried kayaking, it is worth a go. Prices were $15 per person for up to 2 hours--assuming an increase beyond that time limit. When kayaking, you can select singles or doubles. Life jackets must be worn and staff will give you the first push into the river. I do not live in NJ therefore being a regular park visitor isn't an option. Vast, expansive open space for outdoor activities. At first, this may not seem like an ideal location for a park. It's right off of the highway and the isn't much dense or mature greenery around. But this is a different kind of park. What this place offers is lots of long, winding, open space for all kinds of activities. Biking, running, walking, kite flying, picnicking, etc. All great things to do here. There's not much shade or large trees, but there is usually a nice breeze here. I've been here plenty of times and there is a ton of stuff you can do here - run, bike, kayak, tennis, basketball, play in the jungle gym, have a picnic, go to the dog park, ride a horse, etc... It's near I-95 and easily accessible. I mainly come here to run, go kayaking, and to take my pup to the dog park. I own a kayak and this is one of the few places I've been able to find a rolling dock. It's free to use and I love it because it protects the bottom of the kayak. The dock is shared by Overpeck Park Kayak Center, a very inexpensive rental company for kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards. They have everything you need. One of the employees mentioned that the stand up paddle boards are new this year so I will definitely be coming back to try those out. Each time I've been here, the waters have been very calm, making it a very enjoyable day out on the water. For running, there is a trail that runs along the water and around an open field. The scenery is beautiful and the hills aren't too steep. There are also bathrooms along the path, which pretty clean. My pup loves the dog park. There is a section of larger dogs and a section for smaller dogs. It's a great way to tire him out in the evening. read more

This is actually one of my favorite parks. My dog Thor LOVES this park so much he gets excited every time I say the word "Overpeck". They have nice walking trails, you can also workout, kayak, play, enjoy and have a nice time. I live about 30min away and I don't mind driving there. The park is pretty big itself and it's very well taken care of. I usually go to the dog park section since my pooch enjoys it there. I have no complaints about their restrooms as they are always clean and there's enough parking for you to go and enjoy! read more

I love this park. It's so beautiful and HUGEEE! There's like 8 miles of running paths. And a majority of it is right next to the water. One side of the park has all the running/walking trails and a huge jungle gym right next to the water. There's also a kayak launch and several bathroom facilities. The other side of the park across the street consists of a huge field/picnic area, walking/jogging path loop and a doggy park! There's one fenced in for small dogs and a separate one for large dogs. My BF and I brought the dog here last week to play but she came home with about 20 ticks on her. So be cautious!! I also came here running yesterday. It was so relaxing to jog next to the water, and it wasn't crowded either. Highly recommend coming to this park! read more

This is a great park. They have everything you would need in a park. There are two separate sides. The old side has tennis courts, a basketball court, a volleyball net, a bunch of large fields, a track for running, and even a dog park. There is plenty of parking. The new side has an equestrian center, kayak rentals, turf fields, and an ampatheater. This side is usually a lot more busy because it has a couple of playgrounds too. There is a large amount of parking on this side as well It is nice to go and walk around both sides of the park. Especially the newer side since you can walk along the water. There are plenty of fields, and even though it always seems to be crowded there is still plenty of room for everyone. The basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts are all also in good shape and they are almost always open to use. This park is definitely one of the best ones in the area. read more

We went on a beautiful day and the kayaks looked like they were in good condition and the staff were friendly and helpful. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and there was plenty of other kayaks in the water as well. We didn't have to wait at all which was nice which is what I was worried about since there was no reservations and I assumed the weekends would be more crowded. They accept cash or credit. The prices are better than other prices I've seen! It's $15 a person for up to 2 hours. Then each additional hour is $10. I went with my boyfriend, so we could've went both in single kayak or a two-person kayak and it would've been the same price, so that flexibility is nice. You have to sign a waiver before you go in the kayak. A family with a young child that was 2.5 asked if they could go in the kayak with the baby, but the kayak staff said that the child was too young. So that's something also to keep in mind if you plan on going with kids. Would recommend going here if you enjoy kayaking! It's about 2.5-3 miles altogether to kayak down. I'm not sure if they offer other water sports/activities, as I only saw kayaks on the water. I wish there were some nicer views and that the park was a little cleaner as there was a good amount of trash in the water which was sad, but overall a nice place! read more

Easily the best park in the area and located very close to major highways and access points. There's plenty of parking available, which is perfect since there are frequent events held here through out the course of the year. The biggest one is probably the 4th of July fireworks display, which is actually more accessible than the one held in the city. Overpeck also has bike and walking trails setup all around the park. The park is fairly large, so it will probably take over an hour to get from one end to the other. There's a large playground, tennis course, baseball diamond, equestrian center, and boat dock with rental available. There's also a pretty decent golf course as well. Love walking here at night and occasionally you can see rowing races as you walking by the water as well. Great park to check out! read more

Who would have thought that a park off the side of I-95 could be so nice? Remarkably you don't even notice the highway noise from Overpeck County Park. There are many amenities including athletic fields and bike/running/walking paths. It's easy to get here from Bergen and Hudson County. read more

Awesome park wherein you run overlooking the lake. Running the whole park is around 5k. What I like most about it is that the walking/running path is a mix of uphill/downhill and level ground. If you want to intensify your workout then go to the hilly/grassy part and do some hill sprints. read more
