I prefer to go whenever it is warm outside - so spring or summer is perfect. The only drawback is the inconvenience of parking spaces! Tough to find, all of the time. Keep that in mind. If you want to walk, there's a walkway right along the Hudson River and there's a hiking trail adjacent to it. The trails are all connected to the Palisades Interstate Park. Parking isn't difficult to find here, but it is metered ($1.50 per hour). They also have public restrooms and a seasonal concession stand. There are a lot of geese though so.... watch where you're walking because their droppings are everywhere. Whether you want to hike, relax, take photos, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery, you can't go wrong with coming here. ... and yes, it's doggo friendly! :)

This is a wonderful place to bring the whole family. They have about 12 different trails, all…read moreseparated in different levels of difficulty. The trails are free to enter but they do request for volunteer donation for non members. Different tiers of annul membership available to purchase at main office that comes with some wonderful perks, such as free access to trails and special events. The main office also has some of the exhibition items like insect box and turtle box. Outside the office there's also bird and butterfly cages. We went to the center for our daughter to participate in butterfly feeding event. Upon arrival we found out we had to buy the tickets for one of the two scheduled events. Luckily there were slots available to the second event on the day. The ticket was reasonably cheap, only $8. It also came with an additional bird's exhibition that took place right in front of office deck. All the stuff members were very friendly, informative and interactive. We spent wonderful couple of hours here on beautiful warm summer day.

There is a paved path around the perimeter of the park. There is an exercise area as well as a sizeable playground, focused on children 5-12 years old. Along the main path, there are also some less intensive exercise stations...they even have wheelchair accessible options. The park is very well-maintained and safe.

We were in the area for some ice cream rolls from Jinn's just a few blocks down. We decided to walk down towards Fireman's Park since we saw there were some Pokemon gyms we can stick our Pokemon in. It was pretty interesting because it was just a small park area with a pool and kiddie play area, which we assumed is the community pool for the neighborhood. What really caught my eye was this long alleyway across the street that was great for capturing a photo of the crazy fog the weather was giving us that day. There was still a lot of snow in the area from the last snow fall so we couldn't walk through the perimeter of the park but nonetheless it was a good adventure to scope through the area.
