Hosted my son's 3rd Birthday in November 2025..Im just now getting around to reviewing following…read morethe Holidays and New Year, but definitely wanted to speak to my son's experience... He still speaks of his birthday and I can't say enough amazing things about the experience! From start to finish, it was truly a one-stop shop. They handled everything from decorations, food, cake, and nonstop indoor play, which made the day completely stress-free for us and unforgettable for our little one. The space was clean, safe, and perfectly set up for toddlers to have a blast. The staff was incredibly friendly, organized, and attentive, making sure every detail was taken care of. The food and cake were delicious, beautifully presented, and right on time. We also added the balloon animal add-on, and it was a HUGE hit, the kids were absolutely thrilled and it added such a fun, special touch to the party! If you're looking for an easy, fun, and perfectly coordinated birthday party experience, I highly recommend Xtreme Energy Englewood. They made our son feel so special, and we got to actually enjoy the celebration instead of stressing over logistics. Thank you for making his 3rd birthday so memorable!

Jennifer, who hosted the party, was beyond amazing. She was so warm, kind, hospitable, and genuinely made every guest feel special and welcomed. I honestly don't think I've ever seen birthday party staff this attentive and caring before. She went above and beyond and truly made the entire experience feel seamless and special. It honestly comes as no surprise because Xtreme Energy is already one of the best places for kids, but this experience completely exceeded expectations. Highly recommend for both play and parties!

Many people don't know this but New Jersey has alot of parks. Some are real good finds. Flat Rock…read moreBrook is a hidden gem. It is tucked away in a residential neighborhood. We went on Friday afternoon and we were lucky to get a parking space. The parking lot is small with only about 15 spots. Hiking was very easy even though it was not marked. It was nice to be able to enjoy the great outdoors without having to drive a long distance. The highlight of the visit was the aviary. The aviary housed 1 falcon and 2 owls. It was really cool to see these birds close up!

Flat Rock is more rustic than I expected given the location and relative lack of hype. It offers…read moremore varied terrain than some other suburban spots like Emerson Woods Preserve. The sign mentioning NYC being 4.3 miles away is a clever comment on the unexpected location, unclear if that's a "crow files" metric or an actual journey involving walking over the GWB. (click here for my "Fear of Heights" podcast on Audacy). At least one of the wooden bridges across the water wasn't in good shape. If it fails you won't drown but you might get muddy. And in one major advantage over other quirky NJ nature spots is the existence of a bathroom (depending on the hours of the nature center building, which are shorter than those of the overall preserve). Geography notes: you won't want to walk all the way to/from downtown Englewood as I did, the 166 bus gets relatively close but is a relatively slow ride.

For about $17.99 we got one child admission as well as one adult admission. We also had to pay another $4.99 for the an extra adult admission for my wife. This pays for a locker rental and access to the playground and seating area. No outside food or drinks are allowed. I did get a cold brew, scallion pancake, and a ham and cheese panini. The cold brew was surprisingly good. The food was decent. The playground was actually very good for a baby who can crawl and sit. There was a baby only area with a small slide and ball pit. There are lots of padded surfaces for the baby to practice standing and walking. And lots of toys and balls to grab. She especially enjoyed being pushed around the racetrack in a little cart. And the small kitchen to play in is fully stocked. It's also very clean. Staff members are constantly walking through the facility picking up stray balls, discarded toys, and wiping down surfaces. I would definitely come here again.

I also like that they don't charge for the accompanying adult, which most places do. There isn't a whole lot of things to do there, but it serves its purpose for entertaining kids.
