Tibbetts is a beautiful park in Yonkers, North of Van Cortlandt Park. Early last Sunday morning, we hiked ten miles. T'was a beautiful morning! They have a gigantic pool in the summer with an amazing water slide. Plus the landscaping of the park has a lake with a gazebo, a waterfall and small bridge. We have seen a variety of birds: Grey Heron, Swans, and recently a gorgeous Double-crested Cormorant. The Park also has a miniature golf course. It is a great park to stroll, run, jog or just take in the surroundings. Enjoy! Thank you for reading.

Beautiful & quiet park perfect for walks & nature appreciation. Everything is so green when we visited & the water views is so relaxing. Parking is free and the place felt safe.

Great place for a walk. There's even an area for barbecuing. There's also an outdoor water park.

It is a very beautiful peaceful park, super quiet, you can just walk around or take a bike ride to exercise, it is worth any option. I'm lucky it's close to my house so I can go and relax when I can.

    Murky water......these days.

Great park, despite some flaws. I've been coming to this park since the early 80's - hell I spent 2 years of hell in that Discovery Day Camp that used to be in this park. This park, to me, has almost been like family to me......if a land mass could be considered that at all. The park itself is a nice walk - whether you want to walk in the woodsy area or the paths. There are areas to sit, picnic, bike ride, sunbathe, play sports, or just look at nature. It doesn't matter what season it is, I love just going for a walk in this park. It's very sizable and a good time if you're one of those who appreciates a good park. During the summer, they do charge for parking - even if you are a Yonkers/Westchester resident, though they offer a pass for residents at a cost. I haven't had a pass in a long, long time, so I'm not so sure about the newer rules/fees. I think you have to pay for the pool or other things, but I don't do the miniature golf or that pool to comment on that. Past the summer, you're pretty much free to come and go by car as you please. Speaking of the pool, it was upgraded since the craphole it was back in the day. Kids will love it. There are also some nice play ground areas for kids. There are picnic tables if you want to have an outing or barbecue. Not sure if there are fees for that, so if you intend to do that, you may want to check. With the good is always the bad. There are a lot of inconsiderate pigs that come to this park. It's always dismaying to me to see liter all over the place despite the many garbage cans. It's very irritating to see, but it's gonna happen. Even worse is seeing it in the water where the geese and ducks are. One of the waterfalls had a pool of garbage at the base - disgusting and inconsiderate people are indeed. The gazebo looks in utter disrepair. It used to be decent back in the 80's - but it looks like it hasn't been maintained since then. Would be nice if they upgraded it, but perhaps it's not in the budget. As a kid, I used to catch the little crawfish under the rocks near the brook - but I guess they moved on or maybe got sick of the pollution. it was always a fond memory to me to catch them and bring them home for my low budget "aquarium", but since they're gone my son won't experience the same memory. Overall a great park and a true gem in Yonkers and for Westchester in general. Check it out.

they have re-done Tibbets and its so much better. I never liked coming here because people kept the park nasty, always making a mess out of everything, but the new park has all it needs to be one of the best in Westchester. The new Water park the BBQ grills with seating for tons of people and now the tables cant be moved. They are fixing all the parking lots and the sun area is just so green. More security driving by and talking to people, the pool is divided now with a toboggan that comes down tot the main pool I will def recommend the park.

A great park to visit in the summer, gets kind of crowded though, most folks come with their children for the big pool area. There is also a huge lawn to chill out on and picnic. The bathrooms are clean and if you enjoy running or cycling the Old Putnam Railway trail and the Old Croton Aqueduct trail basically run through the park. There is a parking lot but most of the time its full and you have to park on the street. http://www.westchestergov.com/parks/parkslocations02/TibbettsBrookPark.htm

Noisy and not clean. I don't need to wonder why, it's apparent. I would say more but it isn't necessary once you go to Tibbets.

Ask the Community - Tibbets Brooks Park

Are dogs allowed in the picnic area?

    Are there lockers available?

yes, both men and women locker rooms are available. I dont remember if bring your own lock or pay for a key.

Is this park open to Bronx, NY residents?

You can still visit if you're not a resident of Westchester but the cost is higher and you have to be a guest of a resident whether or not the have a pool pass. I'm unsure about parking, though. In the past few years they've begun implementing a fee… Read more

It's in front of a development that was Edge on the Hudson before there was Edge on the Hudson (so much for the hype there). Views of the Tappan Zee bridge and Hudson River are unavoidable which is a very good thing. Decent amount of walking paths and benches, in addition to the dedicated picnic area. Plenty of parking although it is paid via the Tarrytown parking app. Playgrounds are a bit dated but in great shape. Everything has soft, spongy ground around it. Good variety for different ages too. Haven't done the splash pad yet because it's winter but it is pretty sizable. Good amount of kids around here without it being overwhelming. Maybe not the most built up park in the area, but my toddler loves it and so do I.

Admission is Free but there is a cost for parking Our Experience: we enjoyed spending the afternoon outside on this gorgeous spring day walking along the river walk and playing on the playground. The walk was absolutely stunning and the boys enjoyed walking along the path, exploring the lookout area, seeing the boats in the water and the airplanes/helicopters in the sky. Hands down my favorite part of the day. The playground was adorable with two separate sections designed for kids of all ages. While the equipment was a bit outdated, I loved that it had that soft type ground underneath it to (sort of) pad a fall. Both boys really enjoyed their time there. There is a covered picnic area so feel free to bring food and drinks! There is also a restaurant right there in the park as well as walkable restaurants in the downtown area conveneintly located close by. It was a gorgeous spring day and there were ZERO crowds with only a handful of people walking the path and only one other family on the playground. I was shocked at how quiet it was but thrilled to have the place basically to ourselves. Will go back?: Absolutely YES! CJ keeps asking to go back to "look for sharks in the water" ( lol) and to "play on the red playground" Pro Tip: it is WINDY by the water so whatever the temperature is outside, subtract a few degrees or add a jacket when planning how to dress for the day. #tristatemama #tristatearea #momlife #motherhood #kid #instagood #momsofinstagram #parenting #momblogger #momreviews #familyfun #makingmemories #nature #hudsonriver #1000hoursoutside #westchestercountyny #playgrounds #tarrytownny #nyplayground #strollerfriendly
