Loved it here! It looks like a nice (I think 6mi) round-trip hike. I love the views from the flat gravel trail (that is popular for mountain biking & running) and alongside the beach. Ny only problem is that on our hike, there were lots of broken grasses and my friend's dog got a nasty cut on her front paw that ended our hike so we could get her medical attention. I wish people were more considerare and pick up after themselve and gelp keep trail clean and safe for the pups. It's a dog and kids frainly trail. Park8bg $8. Bathrooms in the parking lot read more

Beautiful waterfront park to give you a unique perspective of the Hudson Valley looking out to the Cuomo bride. Most paths are dirt or gravel with cyclists passing through every so often. Several points to park and walk in from. Lovely place for a nature walk. read more

Beautiful park and walk along the Hudson River. There is something for everyone which is why I really love this place. If you want to bike or run you have that option on the path along the river or you can venture up on trails in the woods along the mountain for some YES mountain action. Gorgeous views throughout. If you want to plop down on a bench or sit on some rocks with your feet in the water you can do that too. I love that there are picnic tables along the path below and throughout you will find fire pits or grills to enjoy a rustic meal or some s'mores. My dogs love coming here too because it is totally dog friendly. Doggy poop bag stations and garbages throughout and lots of friends to say hi to- woof woof. Parking can get busy on beautiful days but there is enough room. You can either park up top or down below. Bonus they have bathrooms! *NOTE NOT A BEACH read more

Beautiful state park with acres to explore. You could go hiking, biking, picnicking, fishing and appreciate the scenery of the Hudson and forestry along the river trail. Barbecue grills are available for use along the park as are picnic tables. If you plan on hiking the trails they are rocky and hilly and I recommend wearing hiking boots and applying insect repellent especially to ward off ticks. The trails are not clearly marked and it's better to travel in groups. Seasonal passes are available for parking and I was told by a park worker that you can buy them online for about $80 for the year. The pass is good for all NY state parks and worth the price if going to state parks is your thing. Parking is not free during the regular season and average $8 per vehicle. The hiking trail is in the process of being mapped out and loaded onto the "AllTrails" app for hiking enthusiasts. Great park with beautiful water views and a close drive from NYC makes it worth the trip. read more

First, I'd like to say, the name is a misnomer. There's no beach as in put your feet in the water and swim beach. I'd rename it Nyack Waterfront State Park and the views are breathtaking. It's $8 per vehicle on the weekend at high season, free after 5 p.m. Free with the Empire pass. There is a decently sized parking lot. Picnic tables are through out the park. Grills are in the parking lot area. If you enjoy water; this is your place. It's waterfront all the way with views of the Hudson that are a sight for the eyes. Not overly crowded. People were walking, biking and picnicking. They have relatively maintained bathrooms and a soda machine outside the women's bathroom. Bring your friends and family for picnicking and easy hiking with the most beautiful views. I'd avoid the hikes in the forest due to tick season. read more

Nyack Beach State Park is a great walk on a hot day. The path is flat for the first 1.5 miles and has a nice tree canopy that provides shade, add the breeze coming off of the water and you really can't go wrong. There are benches and picnic tables along the trail that are nice to stop at for lunch. if you are looking for something uphill there are additional trails that lead into the palisades from the river front trail. All in all I think the $8 parking fee is more then worth it. read more

Today as a disabled senior I wanted to walk in the park. I was told only on holidays do seniors have to pay. I tried my military ID and my NY ID to no avail. The lady in charge was not allowing the kid to let me in. Some serious discrimination going on here. It's only a job lady.... read more

This tends to be the place i head when I need a bit of a think. Beautiful, calm restorative views. The trail out and back is about 3 miles round trip. Fantastic place to bring your dog - there are stations with complimentary "business baggies" and plentiful waste bins. Popular with joggers, bikers, people pushing strollers, and people walking dogs... As well as people like me, who tend to not check any of the above. I've seen a fishing crowd as well, although who knows what you're likely to catch in these waters. Come early (before 8AM) or off peak season (October to April) to dodge the $8 parking fee. Otherwise, pay it gladly, knowing that you're contributing to the upkeep of this beautiful spot It's a beautiful spot in the corner of a beautiful town. Recommend! read more

This place evidently 'boasts 61 acres of riverfront' along the Hudson in Rockland County. A great place for a picnic, hikeand is supposedly open for cross-country skiing in winter. I just went up there over the weekend to check out the view of the Hudson and check out the huge Hook Mountain rock formation. Afterwards, Upper Nyack proper is a 5 minute drive away and you can check out all of the little boutiques and restaurants. There's also a Starbucks if you don't feel like trying anything new. read more

We came here for a friend's wedding which was held on the upper plateau. Plenty of parking and the grounds were well maintained. Great views of the Hudson and Westchester with the Palisades looming behind you. Would like to come back and hike the trails. read more

I really enjoy coming here wether we hike or bike. Be sure to always bring a jacket or long sleeve since it is off the water and tends to be very windy at times. If you are going for the park you might as well explore the rest of Nyack and enjoy one of the many places this sleepy town has to offer. read more

This is a great dog friendly activity! Parking is $6 but there are free clean bathrooms for guest to use. There is a walking trail that parallels the water with plenty of tables/seating throughout. There is also shaded areas where people can bring their own chairs and sit along the water. There is a small sandy area making it easy for people to access the water or lay out near the beach. Definitely worth checking out! read more

On a beautiful November Saturday afternoon I went here with some friends abs was pleasantly surprised. The walk from the upper parking lot to the trail was slightly steep but very gradual so it was easily manageable. The views of the Hudson River and Mario Cuomo Bridge are stunning. Every 1/4 mile or less there is a picnic bench so no problem sitting if you want to just look at the views. After a mile and a half we turned around because it gets dark so early now but will make this one of my go to spots. read more

They call it a "beach" and state park, but this place is just so much more! A long and winding trail where you can do anything you desire almost! Hike. Bike. Run. Walk. Fish. BBQ. A truly unique state park with views to soak in from all angles! They have a picnic area up top that you can reserve. They charge about $6 on weekends FYI. So worth it! This is one of the nicest parks in the Hudson River Valley if not the best! I mean our country's freedom was won here! read more

This is one of my favorite places in Rockland. When I lived in Rockland, I would come here all the time in the summer. It's so nice to sit by the water, get a tan and then watch the sun set. It's also a great place to have a picnic - there are tables, or you could bring a blanket. There is also a beach area where people bring their dogs and go swimming with them, as well as hiking trails that lead to Rockland Lake. Definitely worth checking out. read more
