One of the most beautiful parks in NJ. It is a must see and must visit park. Can't believe I didn't know about it earlier. It is also next to the Stephen Gregg Bayonee Park. Some of the best views of the Hudson River can be seen from here.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer's mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. This is an amazing park that can look very modest from outside and has one of the best sunset views that you can ask for. It has a neat parking to start with, and has neat roads that lead you to the beach. We got there on time and watched the sun set behind the Newark port, across the Newark bay. There is also a wooden bridge that has an entrance with an arch of the Mayor's name engraved on it. We didn't walk on it to get to the other side as it was getting darker. If you are looking for sunset places in New Jersey, this is definitely one of it.

Late summer sunset over Newark Bay.

Weekends can be busy. The boardwalk is showing it's age. The flower garden looks unkempt. It would be nice that fewer dogwalkers let their beasts roam freely! There's a dog area in the connected country park. Unfortunately this municipal park has no toilets. You need to use the restroom next to the dog area in the previously mentioned county park. The beach needs A LOT of work. People are pigs and litter there. However, off season and in the morning the park is very nice. Wear protective clothes because the mosquitoes are hungry. Be nice to the wildlife and plants and remember they live there and you are only a visitor. The wooded areas are ummmmmm..... places used for romantic interactions, if you get my point! Don't be surprised if you encounter this as l was the first time I unfortunately saw it. The park needs more benches. Overall it is the nicest municipal park in Bayonne with the exceptions listed above.

A wetlands preserve situated on the northwestern end of town that is part of the RiverWalk and north of Stephen R. Gregg Hudson County Park. Mayor Richard A. Rutkowski Park is also known as the Waterfront Park and Environmental Walkway. It is notable for bird watching, nature walking trails, bike paths, boat works monument, children's playground, and contain parking facilities. Richard A. Rutkowski Park, a 32-acre waterfront park is designated as a sanctuary for birds. A grand gazebo is also available for a beautiful background of any picturesque landscape for portraits as well romantic backdrop for couples. The steps leading to the monument is very quaint and garden-like atmosphere. I love photographing the grounds, the gazebo, boat works monument. A perfect place to dispel stress of life's daily grind or any inner abject loom and doom pain. BBQ and cookouts at Mayor Richard A. Rutkowski Park are prohibited. The boardwalk is very peaceful. This park is a local gem oasis to the City of Bayonne, New Jersey!

An excellent park and so nice, especially during warm days. It's absolutely worth the visit. It is located on Newark Bay.
