I came back shortly after my first review for a picnic so I was able to explore a little more!…read more My boyfriend and I were able to find a parking spot on 48th street which was perfect since there was a path leading down to the park. 48th street is a dead-end with multiple spots which are in front of houses so you may find a spot if you're lucky. My boyfriend and I walked from our spot to a space overlooking the water. On our walk there I saw a cute bike and walking/running paths along the way so I definitely know where I'll be going my next walk! At first, I wasn't sure if we could sit on the grass since I didn't see many people sitting on it around us but once we set everything up park patrol just drove by and that's it. I like how park patrol drives around as it makes me feel safe and secure. As time went on, the park started getting a bit more crowded with adults and children biking, walking, running, skating but nothing too crazy. It was nice to see everyone enjoying the weather! Can't wait to go back to check out the walking paths!

A beautiful park and especially at night :)…read more I stopped by recently with my girlfriend so she could show me all it has to offer and it has a lot. It has a beautiful view of the bridge and the docks, an amazing garden, gorgeous gazebos, and so much to offer a wide variety of people just looking to take a walk or play some hoops. It's safe anytime of the day and there is always a police presence here. I could spend hours here doing nothing but enjoying it for all that it is while laying on a blanket people watching. See you again soon :)

I've been going to this park multiple times every summer for the Summer Sounds by the bay concerts…read moreand I always have a great time. I also go biking occasionally. The park is big and there's a big parking lot but please note that during busy concerts the parking lot gets full so you can expect to park on the street if you don't arrive at least 30 minutes in advance. Also expect a slow moving line when leaving the park on busy days. But overall this is a nice park!

5/26/25: We went to visit the Tear Drop Memorial. It's also…read moreknown as the "Tear of Grief". The monument is located in Harbor View Park at 51 Port Terminal Blvd. Bayonne, NJ. This sculpture is "Absolutely Stunning" in person. It's made from Bronze, Stainless Steel and Steel. In 2006, the "Tear Drop" was a gift from the people of Russia as a memorial to the victims who died in the terrorist attacks on World Trade Center September 11, 2001 and the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. The Monument was created by Georgian- Russian Artist/Sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. This master artist recently passed in April 2025. While in the Harborview Park, you'll see a memorial area for the residents of Bayonne who died in both terrorist attacks. The park does have benches for people to sit and reflect. The park has a Porta John. However, I would strongly recommend bringing your own tissues. Harborview Park is a must see when in the NJ/NY area.

10/4/25 Visit: We came to visit the large crane in the park…read more The Crane is a magnificent structure "not to be missed". The crane was manufactured by the Electric Launch Company (ELCO). It was used to lift the PT boats used in WWII. In the park, there's a plaque dedicated to the people who worked at the Elco Co. along with the service people who served on the PT boats. The park has other highlights: - Stunning marsh birds. - Enclosed viewing areas of the waters. - Lovely wooden bridge. - Benches. Looks like fishing is good here, as we saw several men fishing. During our visit, we did see law enforcement patrolling the area. Unfortunately, the restrooms needed attention. Other than the restrooms, The Richard A. Rutkowski Park is a "must see". There's ample parking along the water.

We parked at one lot and then drove over to another lot to be able to see Lady Liberty. Loved that there were plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view and sounds. There was a strong police presence (while not excessive) so it just felt safer. Side note: I really wish you could walk or ride over to visit Ellis Island from the park since there's a narrow bridge that crosses over, but it's not possible.

The playground, beach, and park are the best attractions at Newport Green…read more The park is a huge green lawn with multiple gardens filled with beautiful flowers. Its a solid option for a chill walk or picnic on a beautiful day. The playground attracts families from all around. Although the spaces is relatively small when compared to alternatives found in places like Liberty State Park, it is packed with multiple play areas and jungle gyms for different age groups. It even has a merry-go-round and old school London-style phone booth - totally random but welcome additions. During the summers the splash pad is a hit with the little ones. Finally, the artificial beach right near the edge of the river is a perfect spot to chill at and enjoy a glamours view of the city skyline. Best of all, beach chairs are already provided! The tradeoff: there are no public bathrooms. Whether you are on a date, with family, or just walking the dog, Park at Newport Green is a must-see spot in Hudson County NJ.
