Admittedly, I'm spoiled. We eat at Los Arcos in Jonesboro at least twice a week. I've grown accustomed to their menu and the waitstaff know me by name. But we stopped here on the way home from Branson because every vacay we try a random hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant. It's our tradition. And we have found some real gems doing this. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. The service was great. The people were very friendly and accommodating. We got our food fast and it was hot. It just wasn't all that great. I'm not trying to bash them. It wasn't terrible. It just wasn't what I had hoped for. I got the street tacos - chorizo, carne Asada, and carnita. They were all very dry and over cooked. We went to Laura's in Bull Shoals last Wednesday. The salsa was terrific - it had a little more heat than before which was fine with us. I ordered a beef tostada on a corn tortilla and it was very good. It was plenty for a dinner for me. My husband ordered the two beef enchilada, two beef taco dinner. It was lots of food because it also came with rice and beans. He said it was delicious and almost could not finish it. Although we did not need it, we ordered sopapaillas for dessert. Everything was wonderful. Our server was so sweet and took excellent care of us. Looking forward to going back soon. read more

Great breakfasts! Each of us ordered something different and they all had plenty of food, looked & tasted great ! I ordered the Denver omelette and it may be the best omelette I've ever had. I did not choose a side which was offered - hashbrowns or tortillas or toast... But here's a photo of just the omelette. Try this place. My wife and I miv d to town from Texas and have spent a lot of time in Mexico. Needless to say we know Mexican food and Tex-Mex. Laura's is one of the best true authentic Mexican food restaurants I've ever been to. The food is outstanding and the family that runs the restaurant is amazing. My wife and I visits the restaurant at-lease once a week. And I saw a review about someone from Texas talking about how thin the queso being thin. There's a huge difference between Tex-mex and Authentic Mexican food. The queso is amazing as well. read more

I'm not a disappointed eater very often as I love food but this was awful from start to finish the salsa tasted like it was really old or maybe used bad tomatoes ? I ordered the polo loco witch is a go to for me and it came out about 1 minute later 4,000 degrees because maybe it's pre made ? But everything was so over cooked I didn't even eat it my husbands food came out about 30 seconds after mine and it looked like they dropped the plate and handed it to him it was awful all the way around - not to mention the waitress had on so much pattuli or some sort of oil that it was almost unbearable we spent $35 and I ate 3 bites and left fu(k this place all the way around they need to close their doors read more

This is damn good food, breakfast is huge and amazing, never had anything bad for breakfast. Dinner is equally as good regardless of what your reading on other reviews. This isn't no Tex Mex, this is authentic and the way it should be. Mexican food isn't meant to be Tex Mex like you get almost everywhere in Texas, this is Deep South Del Rio Texas food. The only thing I don't personally care for are the tacos. But everything else I have had is hands down some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and try it out. The food was mediocre at best. The staff was friendly and our food was made quickly, but the quality and taste were not what I expected based off the rave reviews. The guacamole & salsa tasted store bought and not at all fresh. We didn't even eat more than a few bites of the guacamole appetizer that we ordered because it tasted so bad. I ordered a shredded beef quesadilla that was only so-so. My husband had a combination plate that he said was also a so-so. My advice is to keep driving. I can't say much about their food since I only had a couple beers and some cheese dip but the people were amazingly accommodating to our small group of 3. None of us were eating but we came to watch America play Mexico in a soccer game. The game didn't start till 9 and they closed at 9. They still allowed us to sit around and drink a few beers and watch the game. They watched from the other room and we had a great friendly rivalry going with them cheering for Mexico and us for the US. Either this place has gone downhill since the last reviews or I they had a bad night. Chips- stale, Salsa tasted like Campbell's tomato soup with a little bit of cilantro added. Sweet tea was so sugary it made my teeth hurt. I ordered the fajitas with shrimp & extra vegetables. The shrimp were big and tasted great! I do not recommend this place. We should have known to not order. Only employees were there, no other customers; didn't smell of mexican food; no mexican music playing. They took our order quickly but didn't check on us after they served the food. The chips were stale and the salsa was horrible. I ordered chicken quesadillas and the grease dripped off of it. The rice...tasted like a bag that you microwave at home and it was hard. I thought my meal was a bit expensive for what I received. My friends meal had no flavor and was not pleased with any of it.
