The original owners sold this place late last year and a new family has bought it. They are from south Texas and this is really authentic TexMex. I am so happy that the new owners are serving food that is just as good as the original owners. New name - LaCatrina. If you like authentic Mexican food, try it. As a native Texan that has moved up here, I have to say that this is the best in the area. And, a bonus - they are extremely nice and friendly and very reasonably priced. read more

This little gem serves excellent Tex-Mex and traditional Mexican dishes! It is the size and decor of a Taqueria - but with free chips & salsa, table-service, and friendly wait-staff - turning it into a small Mexican Cafe. We loved it! Park out front, and sit anywhere. They quickly greet you and offer drinks (soft) and chips/salsa with the menu. The chips are thick but crisp, and the salsa is good. The Jalisco Sampler is a LOT of interesting food; tasty and filling! (We took some home!). The Tamales were large and shucked; covered with the sauce of my choice. My Shrimp Cocktail was huge; about a dzn large shrimp in a good mix of ceviche and avocado slices. I ran out of crackers for my shrimp cocktail - and enjoyed the rest on chips! This restaurant reminds me of the Mexican food in California. I have tried a lot of Mexican restaurants in Northwest Arkansas and this is the best. Every component of my plate was delicious. I first judge a Mexican restaurant on their rice and beans. They were fantastic. Then the salsa was fantastic. The whole plate was delicious. Then the service was exceptional and friendly. The price is excellent. I ordered an extra Burrito to take home, Carnitas. I ate it 3 days later. It tasted like it was made that day. The carnitas was first class. Every component of the burrito was delicious. Some of the restaurants I've tried fall flat on something. This one didn't. Be sure to try it if you are in Harrison Arkansas. We came here after a long hike. 10/10 recommend! We got the Jalisco special, tacos pastor and asada, steak burrito. The food was fantastic. It was fast. The restaurant was clean. The beans and rice were some of the best I have ever eaten. The burrito was a little simple, but it was for my child and he ate 2 of them, so I am not complaining! This is the third Mexican food restaurant we have tried in Harrison and they are all a disappointment when compared to Mexican food in Texas and Colorado. First they all put corn and peas in their food. I have never encountered this before and I do NOT want corn and peas in my Mexican food. I would like to get plain fajitas like we used to get in Colorado Springs at La Casita. They were plain and delicious and not so expensive. All this corn and peas costs a fortune! Their music and flowers were very nice but eat someplace else unless you like Harrison Mexican food. read more

It's always hard to find a Mexican restaurant that serves tripas, especially in this area. Thank goodness we have found our go to now! Just like the previous reviews, the owner is amazingly kind. His wife is the cook and they are a great team. My husband ordered his tripas tacos and was completely satisfied and stuffed. I ordered the enchiladas plate. I had one made with chicken and green sauce and it was delicious and the other was a cheese enchilada with red sauce. It would have been better if she would have put more cheese and red sauce on it. The couple behind me ordered the beef fajitas and I will definitely be ordering that next time because it looked delicious. The restaurant is a small open area that is kept very clean. It doesn't serve alcohol. I can't wait to come back for more delicious food and welcoming hospitality! read more
