We've been here a few times now. Food is pretty food, everything we've eaten has tasted good. Chips are a little soggy at times because they've got a lot of oil. The service is always great, we've had a nice and attentive waiter/waitress everytime we've come in and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. They're not our favorite place for Mexican food in the area but they've got a good thing going. Prices are decent. read more

I went here with my dad when I was in town for vacation. I was so happy I did. I was hoping to have some good Mexican food and I was not disappointed at all. The service was outstanding they made sure my drink was full and the chips and salsa flowed abundantly. I tried the stuffed poblano pepper. I was told they were out of steak and so I had to pivot it was a pleasant surprise and I enjoyed it very much. I actually loved it so much I came back again later the same month. I was in town for about 2 months so during that time all I was thinking about coming back and having some more wonderful food. I forgot what I had the second time. My wife and I visited as we always try to do when we are in Mountain Home. Again we were not disappointed, just the opposite, highly satisfied with the portions and price, but even more the service! I regrettably did not get our servers name but she was awesome! Very friendly, courteous and quick even though they were crowded. The good. was the service. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently, she didn't give her name or I would give her a shout out. The margarita was also very tasty. The food is not good. The beef was all the same in every dish, tacos, enchiladas, and the burrito. They all tasted exactly the same. They poured red sauce over everything even the tamale! There should not be a sauce on the tamale ever! The sauce they pour over everything is frankly awful! My mom got same combo dish only with a cheese sauce.... Would give zero stars if it was an option. Ordered ground beef soft and hard shell tacos. You would think this would be easy at a Mexican restaurant. The best way to describe the "meat" used is hot garbage. The meat was so watery the hard shell tacos had become soggy before it made it to the table. The same watery liquid was running out of the soft tacos. The "meat" had a strange texture and unpleasant taste. I have no idea what they did or used in these tacos. I took one bite out of each taco and became nauseous. Stay clear of this place. I am not a real fan of Taco Bell but you are much better off going there at least you can stomach their tacos read more

Spending most of our time in small rural towns, we've haven't had many opportunities to get our Mexican food fix. In Mountain Home, Arkansas we decided to try Salsa's Grill. First impressions were positive: Atmosphere was festive. Restaurant was fairly packed. Service quick and friendly - the hosted even hurried to have a booth bussed for us, because after all that driving I just wanted to be comfortable. The chips, salsa & guacamole were fresh & tasty. As for our entrees, we have mixed reviews. Sadly, I was pretty disappointed with my taco - it tasted like a pre-made store-bought taco shell & the filling was just okay. I didn't finish it. The enchilada was much better, but I was really hoping for an outstanding taco. The beans and rice, however, were authentic, homemade & definitely scratched my craving. The real winner was what my husband ordered: Carnitas dinner plate with fresh tortillas, beans and rice. I cannot put into words just how delicious the meat was. Wow! Cooked to perfection - SO tender & SO much flavor! I took one bite of it and couldn't hide my groan of approval. Without even having to ask (because he knows me so well & because he's the give-the-shirt-off-his-back kind of guy, my husband began to doctor up a taco of my very own, from his plate. How I WISH this restaurant was in my neck of the woods...I'd eat these at LEAST once a week! So where one taco may have crashed and burned, the other came out the hero & saved the day. As we started to pack up and be ready to go we witnessed 2 servers began arguing, cussing, and screaming at each other. I have been going there(in MOUNTAIN HOME) for over 10 years, regularly, but tonight was THE LAST TIME! I was treated like crap by some waitress I have never seen before, and by that I mean she treated us as if we were thieves or something (quoting rules about using your complimentary card (free cheese dip w/2 entrees) which wasnt a big deal, but then when I switched out a tostada for an extra taco, then all of sudden after 10+ years, there's an "Upcharge" for substituting...which is probably fine, but NEVER in the 10 years I have gone there, has it ever occurred. This "waitress" let us sit there for nearly 10 minutes before she came the first time. she acted as if we didn't matter. As a a result, MY WIFE is mad at me for not ordering after being treated that way, and shee took her food to go, and I'm in the doghouse for some waitress being rude, and condesending to me over a taco/tostada . Oh how I wish to give this place a five star rating but sadly I cannot bring myself to do so! I came in with my family last week for a fast and convenient dinner!! I was successful in getting fast food and a convenient dinner... the server was sweet and young and he was very friendly!! The two girls hosting were even kind enough to clean us a booth in a corner I had asked for. (I have a bad back so a chair wasn't gonna to do it) All were very accommodating. Even with how CRAZY it was!! I had a quesadilla salsas and it was DELICIOUS!! My husband had the ranchero seafood and left nothing but a happy plate. My kids both got a simple thing of cheese and rice but had full tummies and that's all this mama cares about. Sadly. As we go to check out the man in the front... manager maybe? He was rude. The two hostesses had been all over running to sit people and couldn't get to us as the man sat there on his phone and ignored my family. We had to wait until FINALLY some other server checked us out. Nothing against the wait staff or hosts but the manager is just out right disrespectful and disregards anyone but himself. Service was terrible,had to ask the lady 3 times for salsa when we got our chips, I also asked for horchata when they clearly had horchata on the menu and they didn't have it,the food was crappy,the tortilla soup had little to no flavor and no tortilla in the soup. The tacos we asked for stating they were made with corn tortillas and they gave us flour tortilla instead.They also didn't give us red sauce when it came with the tacos on the menu.The burrito my boyfriend had was slimy and sticky. We also had to wait a whole hour to receive our food when people that had arrived to the restaurant had got their food first. The Ambiance of this whole restaurant was horrid,and disgusting. We went to this restaurant after saying 5 years ago we would never go back just awful but we gave them a second chance last night it was worse than before it's filthy in there I can't only imagine what the kitchen looks like but the booth we were sitting in the window not only filthy but 3 large wasps nest and nothing but dead wasps and bugs sitting on the window sill but the worse was it smelled like cat piss and we all know how bad that is and one last rant the guy at the register which I'm pretty sure was the owner never even asked us how are meal was !! I went in tonight when it cooled down some. Around 8 pm.. I sat on the patio and waited for my server. He came out, was very nice. I ordered a house salad and a margarita to start. He brought me chips n salsa first. The salsa is still very much like tomatoes sauce; blan. O get my salad and drink. The house salad is really good! I said I don't like cheese sauce on my chimi or anything for that matter; its NOT cheese at all! He asked if I wanted another margarita and I said yes. I thought something would be done with thiis chimi plate as I said also that the rice was over cooked besides that white sauce all over my chili and beans. I took 1 bite from to see if I might change my mind. I DON'T!! I waited, and waited and waited till I couldn't wait anymore. I ended up going inside, leaving behind a full margarita and chimichanga dinner plate. I told a worker that I'd been forgotten, that my food was not good, I waited too long.... she took the dinner off my bill. MY BILL WAS just Under $13 for a house salad ( 2.95 & 1 margarita) I wasn't feeling good, maybe the heat??? Idk I didn't feel good, gave her a $20 and had to go before I was sick. The old people in Mountain Home can be tough critics, so they're probably erring on the side of caution with the spice, but they could try a dash more. We walked out-appears to be understaffed. BTW: on the menu it looks like all the chicken dishes use the same chicken, all the beef dishes use the same beef. Just different sauces and tortillas.
