This is my puppy...Alex worked magic on him.

Alex is knowledgeable and perceptive. He offers many tools to help you with your dog. I have a particularly quixotic puppy that has preset me with many challenges. Alex has been a tremendous help in the process of training my puppy. I really recommend him and his team.

We LOVE these training programs. The consistency we've learned has made the biggest difference for my puppy and our household. It was important for me to raise a puppy before I have my own kids so he is well prepared for human siblings and we are definitely on our way there! We have been training with Alex I believe since February of this year and my 9month standard poodle is learning self control little, how to gently greet other dogs, how to walk with other dogs, and be in a group. He's not perfect in any of these categories, but the progress has been incredible for puppy-hood! As the owner, I continue to learn cues that help me identify what to do while my puppy is reactive or nervous. Over time, it has brought a lot of harmony, routine, and clear expectations to our home that are helpful for everyone! Alex is so great with his training and being honest about sustainable training and helping people with perspectives on their breed of dog! It's been a wonderful experience and I highly recommend that you take your puppy or adult dog to try the group classes!

Love Alex and Kaylin! This training is so effective and user friendly. Of course it is really training the people/owners but that's what's needed. My puppy went from a spinning demon in my home to an affectionate (still energetic!) eager-to-please little sweetie (85% of the time- she is only 8 months so I keep it realistic) when i consistently applied the methods they taught us. It's a game changer bc, let's be honest, puppies are HARD! I totally trust Alex's training bc all it is strictly positive focused and he has a true connection with dogs. This training was a game changer for me. I am so appreciative.

We adopted a 4.5mo old puppy in Feb 2022 and struggled with her stubbornness. We were at our wits end with her when we found Alex's training program. We ended up doing group classes, an in home visit, and his walk and train program and could not have been happier with the results. He helped us understand our dog on a deeper level so that we can help her become a well mannered pup. I highly recommend meeting him and doing any of his training programs. His passion for dogs, and kind, respectful approach to training is what drew us to his business and I'm so glad we found him!

Alex and Kaylin are knowledgeable and thoughtful trainers that practice using positive training techniques and have been very helpful. We have been attending puppy classes for about two months now and they have helped us through a wide variety of challenges and Blueberry is on her way to becoming a great dog, thanks to their help!

Alex is amazing. We've learned so much from him. Emmett is so much more behaved. The 4 sessions are well worth the money.

On 12/27/25, I schedule a bath and brush which includes a bath, nail clipping, etc. When picking up my dog, I noticed she was bleeding and brought it to the attention of the groomer who failed to notice this. Patricia clipped my dog's nail so badly it split and bled so I took my dog to the vet to ensure she was okay. It eventually healed on its own but the first picture shows her injury. The store manger, Lauren Hughes reached out quickly and ensured PetSmart took care of the bill, but I was not pleased with the whole interaction and incident that could have been avoided. I was told to book with a different groomer next time. I gave them another chance and specifically booked a different groomer, Celeste for 5/12/26 and selected the bath only option. When I arrived, Patricia told me she would be handling my dog anyway despite informing her I selected Celeste as my groomer but due to Celeste being booked, she would be bathing my dog. I made it clear it was just a bath, however my dog was injured again. I received a call informing me my dogs nail got stuck in a grate and was bleeding. When I informed the manager Lauren, that I was around the corner at a nearby store and would be there shortly to see my dog, they informed me they transported my dog to UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center without my knowledge or consent and only told me after the fact. Luckily it was a split in the nail and she didn't require medical attention. We are hoping her injury will heal on its own but we will monitor it. Two visits. Two injuries. Same groomer. This is not a coincidence--it's negligence. My request for a different groomer was ignored, and basic safety was clearly lacking. I will not be returning. Pet owners should be very cautious.

The initial contact was easy but subsequent communication for questions and meetings/training sessions would some times take a day or two (sometimes with a follow-up text) for a response. That being said, despite the difficulties with the communication, the work Catherine and her team does is nothing more than amazing. My little guy was with her for a total of 7 weeks for service dog board and train. When he entered her program, he was a 7 month old puppy with all the puppy attitude and energy. My Journey: I initially contacted Devil Dog Training in October to inquire about their service dog program. After a meet and greet, where Catherine fully explained her program and training philosophy/method, I decided this was the best fit for my guy and me. My original start date was going to be early November for a couple of weeks then a longer session in January; Catherine believed my guy was too young for a full SDiT program (which I agreed). However, my guy caught a cold so this was postponed to January. Since I met Catherine in mid-October, until I dropped off my guy in January, we met on multiple occasions to do training session where we learned the marker system (good, yes, and no). Using Catherine's techniques, I could already see marketed improvement in my little guy's obedience. Drop off was an OK process. I feel that it could have been better prepared for/smoother, but given everything that was going on at the time, I'm willing to give a little slack. During the 7 weeks my guy was with Devil Dog Training, I received a few progress updates, pictures, and video's (wish there was more). I did not see my guy during the 7 week stay. Upon pick-up, my guy had a solid understanding of sit, down, heel, place, leave it, and public access and was beginning to learn his task. Post pick-up, we still meet with Catherine and her team to work on his tasks and brush up on his heel. As a couple of the other reviewers mentioned, Devil Dog Training does use an e-Collar when training. This was fully disclosed when we met and posted on their IG. The use of the e-collar aligned with my approach to training so I had no issues with my guy on it nor using it. All-in-all, I say, let their work/result speak for them. I think Devil Dog Training does an amazing job in training responsible owners and well mannered doggos. Despite the difficulties in communication, I think Devil Dog Training is worth every penny. Full disclosure: I was asked to write a review for Devil Dog Training, but everything I said is my own opinion and uninfluenced by anyone.

She helped us with basic commands at that time and was amazingly patient and kind with him despite how timid he was with people. By Winter 2021 we wanted to work with Jonesy on E-Collar training to give him more freedom and flexibility while still feeling comfortable that our street rescue wouldn't get away. Jonesy did two weeks of board and train and we couldn't be happier of how well Cat refreshed his commands and got him ready for wearing an E-Collar. We now are able to hike with Jonesy off leash and have him stay in heal while off leash for extended periods of time. Cat also helped work on Jonesy meeting new people and becoming more comfortable with strangers which was always a struggle. We have reached a point we through never would have been possible with our once timid wild rescue. Thank you Cat and Devil Dog Training for your patience, kindness, communication and accessibility. We feel so fortunate to have found such a great trainer and cannot recommend them enough.

We are bringing our Puppy in for a Follow up for 3 months ago, our puppy had heart surgery, so we have been here a few times now, coming from Stockton. Worth the drive for a pet that you would call a family member. The campus grounds are super clean, lots of wildlife, birds, squirrels, etc. Not sure if they take any animal in, or if you have to have a referral, like we did from our local vet. And they were alot cheaper then the vet and had more openings.

My local vet…read morereferred us there and had called ahead, so they were expecting us and had 2+ hours notice we were coming. (6PM arrival) Fast forward another 4+ hours to 10:30 PM. We finally get to talk to a resident, Dr. Olivia Taubenfeld, who tells me she doesn't think it's a degloving injury - without even examining him yet. I tell her I don't what that is, but describe seeing exposed tendons, ligaments, and possibly bone (which is also what I described when admitting him hours before.) Another 2+ hours go by and they finally examine him. (1AM) Dr. Taubenfeld's report? Degloving injury. Had anyone bothered to look under the temporary bandage put on by the first local vet, or even listened to my description of his wound, they would have seen and understood the severity of the injury. Now they're recommending amputation and treatment options have changed drastically because they neglected seeing him for so long. After getting a second opinion, I decide to pull him out of this hospital so he can get proper care. I'm told they'll do a wound cleaning first thing in the morning. I communicate persistently all day, making sure they're aware of my intention to transfer him that afternoon. I go to pick him up at 4 PM - they haven't cleaned his wound yet. I wait hours, desperate to get him out of there and to a vet who has the capacity to give him proper care and attention. At one point (6 PM) I can hear him crying and whining from behind one of their exam room doors. Apparently, they finally got around to cleaning his wound, only without proper sedation and pain management. Torture. Soon after, they bring him out of that room to me. While I'm carrying him to leave, as soon as we get outside, he starts peeing in my arms. (Sweet boy waited until he was outside.) I place him down, and he stands there peeing for I swear at least one 1 minute. His bladder had to be completely full. Had they even let him relieve himself the 24 hours he was there?! I will never bring another animal here.
