Before that, we enjoyed dog parks and meeting other dogs and their owners on our daily walks. She became aggressive during puberty. The Vet said let's wait to see what happens after the spay. Jade got more aggressive, not less. Desiree is a dog whisperer. When we met at our consultation, Desire walked into my backyard, and Jade snarled and bounded across toward her. I almost fainted watching my huge dog running toward her. Desiree did her trainer thing, and Jade completely relaxed. I watched Jade become putty in her hands within minutes, and I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. The training was detailed and extensive. My dog responds to me when I call her with a quiet "hey" when she starts to play with my cats or go towards the kitchen. She places in the house even when guests arrive, or someone rings the doorbell. Her PICA (eating non-food items) is almost completely gone. ( Jade is s/p a life-threatening bowel obstruction after eating a towel) She went to the dog park and played with a Golden until her energy was spent a few days ago. I can play with her off-leash and have confidence in my abilities to communicate with her. A couple of weeks after the training, Jade all of sudden began to be triggered by the satellite dishes and telephone polls on our walks. Well, you can imagine how difficult it became with aggressive barking and then refusal to move. I called Desiree, and she drove the 20 miles to my house immediately. Hopefully the regular location is more dog safe because there are nails and objects that my dog found in her garage just feet away from the pen where the dogs go into at the start and end of class. On 12/27/25, I schedule a bath and brush which includes a bath, nail clipping, etc. When picking up my dog, I noticed she was bleeding and brought it to the attention of the groomer who failed to notice this. Patricia clipped my dog's nail so badly it split and bled so I took my dog to the vet to ensure she was okay. It eventually healed on its own but the first picture shows her injury. The store manger, Lauren Hughes reached out quickly and ensured PetSmart took care of the bill, but I was not pleased with the whole interaction and incident that could have been avoided. I was told to book with a different groomer next time. I gave them another chance and specifically booked a different groomer, Celeste for 5/12/26 and selected the bath only option. When I arrived, Patricia told me she would be handling my dog anyway despite informing her I selected Celeste as my groomer but due to Celeste being booked, she would be bathing my dog. I made it clear it was just a bath, however my dog was injured again. I received a call informing me my dogs nail got stuck in a grate and was bleeding. When I informed the manager Lauren, that I was around the corner at a nearby store and would be there shortly to see my dog, they informed me they transported my dog to UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center without my knowledge or consent and only told me after the fact. Luckily it was a split in the nail and she didn't require medical attention. We are hoping her injury will heal on its own but we will monitor it. Two visits. Two injuries. Same groomer. This is not a coincidence--it's negligence. My request for a different groomer was ignored, and basic safety was clearly lacking. I will not be returning. Pet owners should be very cautious.

It needed to be removed along with a portion of his jawbone. While the tumor is benign, without surgery it would eventually destroy a dog's mouth, causing terrible suffering and ultimately death. Although the surgery is considered common, there was nothing common about trying to find a place that could perform it without leaving me in financial hardship for years. The estimates I received from private clinics ranged from $15,000 to $20,000. At one point, I almost had to say goodbye to my boy. Then I called UC Davis and scheduled an appointment. From my first call to the surgery itself, the entire process took about a week. They prioritize cases based on urgency, which I truly appreciated. The entire staff was amazing. Not only was Dr. Ingrid wonderful, but every doctor and team member treated their patients as if they were their own family members. Dr. Ingrid was patient, compassionate, and took the time to explain everything to me. We went ahead with the surgery, and I paid about a third of what I had been quoted elsewhere. Most importantly, Brownie is recovering beautifully. I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for this clinic and its staff. They gave my best friend a chance, and for that I will always be thankful.
