Grouper tacos (grilled), sweet potato tots

Perfect tacos and grouper, and the tots were spot on! Not typical hotel restaurant food... excellent!

Blackens shrimp, feta mashed potatoes and an Crabcake

I am from the Midwest so when I am near any ocean I only eat seafood . But you may think ... How can a Midwestern who really only knows BBQ (KC woot woot) can rate seafood? Let me tell you .... I have only my taste buds and what I can tell you my taste buds have never been happier. It was as if Bubba Gump went out today and caught those shrimpies and hand delivers to the cook. The shrimp had a little spice to it but I cleansed it with the feta garlic potatoes. The crab cake was like the crab walked itself up my plate . My family also had the swordfish and the flounder and they were moaning so loud it got embarrassing. I washed it all down with a drink called "The Stress reliever" which after driving 14 hours with two teenagers should be a something given to you at check in.

Soups of the day... tomato bacon

The food was wonderful and the service was great! Not a big crowd that night and that was nice... appetizer was the Poke Tuna Nachos...needed some lime, but they were good without it! Fresh jalapeño were on point! Hubby had fish tacos and they were great as well! I had the Grouper Ruben! Very interesting!

Great place...really don't know what else to say. The staff was super friendly - the food was great - and for a reasonable price. We ordered shrimp poboy and bayou burger...just the best. Will definitely go back and recommend.

I had a very nice time here last weekend. It was my first visit. I stayed two nights. There is…read morefree guest self parking and a valet parking option. The staff were all helpful and friendly. There was someone playing live music at certain times of the day. The room was clean and had a simple but nice setup. The shower had great water temperature and pressure. We had an ocean view room which was worth the extra cost. Waking up to the beach every morning was so satisfying. Reading on the balcony while listening to the ocean sounds and watching the waves was everything that I needed. The hotel has beach towels that are easily checked out through a machine. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available first come first serve to hotel guests which is very convenient. There was a heated outdoor pool, a volleyball net and a few games inside. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. We ate at the grab and go food spot. I ordered the feta and spinach croissant, a chocolate chip scone and a cappuccino. We also ate dinner at the latitude 30. I ordered a ceasar salad and calamari. For breakfast at latitude 30, I ordered the French toast dish that comes bacon and I ordered a side of eggs. We also ate at the fine dining restaurant onsite where I ordered the seared scallops dish and the vanilla crème brûlée. All of the meals that we ate at the hotel were very tasty. The restaurant staff were all kind and the utensils were spotless. I believe food may have also been served at the bar near the pool, but I didn't try any food from there during my visit. I really had an enjoyable time at this hotel and I plan to return in the future.

Beautiful resort! Clean and well kept. Rooms were nice! We had adjoining rooms traveling as a…read morefamily of four and that was a great option. Wonderful view from the room. Pool was nice. Live music every day by the pool was awesome! And talented performers! The beach itself is right behind the resort and has the softest sand. Wanted was rough but we were still able to get in a slash around and jump some waves. The property was recently purchased by new owners after being owned by sand owner who opened it in 1987, which is impressive. Mervin in the restaurant was kind and friendly and been there 12 years. Glinda in the restaurant was the SWEETEST lady there. She maker the omelettes. (Get the omelettes!! Yum!) John and Greg are great pool side bar tenders. The gentleman at the lobby bar was also friendly and attentive, we didn't catch his name. The list of things we wished were different is short. Could have used speakers playing music during the times at the pool when there wasn't live music. Wait times in the restaurant were long. (Food was hit or miss...not horrible but mostly unremarkable... However the spinach dip at the casual restaurant is off the charts and the wagyu steak at Voyagers is incredible!!) We cannot say enough about the marvelous staff. We will definitely be back! We wish them luck in this transition.

Went there for lunch. Amazing experience all the way around. I will definitely be back for the food…read morethe atmosphere and the service and the beer selection. ATMOSPHERE Nothing too special about the atmosphere here. I just love that. It was nice clean open area with large windows and plenty of seating and easy to get around. The bar area look cool and the layout was nice. FOOD this is why you came here, right! All kinds of fish cooked all kinds of different ways. Delicious gumbo. Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I HATE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME, BUT SHE WAS ON TOP OF IT AND SUPER DELIGHTFUL. DRINKS The bar area looked really nice. Most of my table had iced tea which everybody enjoyed. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage. It even came out in a glass that matched the beer that I had! I like that extra touch.

They had a meat and three sides which is a southern thing. I chose the fresh catch. with side salad, boiled red potatoes, and greens. I had asked the server for the salad first. But it was brought with the meal. The salad was fresh and crisp, with a surprise of a small Peppa dew pepper. Blazing red with a little heat and delicious. Haven't seen them in a restaurant ever. Unfortunately my fish and potatoes were cold, cold and butter congealed. The greens were warm and good I had also ordered the cornbread. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be better.

Ordered a lot of things off their happy hour menu. Bang bang shrimp was a big highlight, and their deserts are phenomenal. Would love to come back and try some more next time. Would love to review the food, but our party of 11 was told to leave after an hour and a half wait…read morebecause one of the hostesses thought she overheard a member of our party being rude to her. She was not, the hostess was mistaken. The "manager" backed up her employee and we were told that we would not be served - after an hour and a half. I respect a manager backing up their employee, but there is a much larger theme here and Cobalt clearly dropped the ball. The lobby area was completely packed and loud, the manager was ENTIRELY disinterested in anything we had to say and didn't care at all that we had been waiting an hour and a half. Cobalt clearly doesn't give a crap whether or not you come back or leave a bad review. The local restaurant choices for large parties are limited, and Cobalt is so busy they apparently don't need to worry about customer service. We won't be back, and I strongly suggest that anyone with a large party avoid Cobalt.
