Best Colombian food I've ever tried…read more Big portions Lots of parking spots available Excellent customer service There are sometimes long wait times but it's worth the wait Call ahead when placing take out orders so I don't have to wait

Amazing Colombian food in big portions, quick and friendly service, and nice casual atmosphere…read more Although technically an appetizer, the Patacon Relleno Vegetariano (stuffed green plantain with black beans, salad, avocado slices) could stand as a meal on its own - very hearty and filling. The texture of the crunchy green plantain slices went really well with the soft avocado, salad, and beans mixture inside, with a delicious sauce. The Ensalada (salad) came in a very large portion and consisted of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, bell pepper, and avocado. Sancocho de Pescado (traditional & hearty Colombian soup made of fish, root vegetables, and tubers - including cassava / yuca, potatoes, plantains, corn on the cob; seasoned with cumin and cilantro) had a very flavourful soup broth that tasted like comfort food. It was served with rice, toasted arepa, and avocado. It had a good amount of meaty fish and various types of root vegetables that had been cooked really well (so they were all soft) and absorbed the rich flavour from the soup broth. Arroz con Camarones (seasoned rice with shrimps, vegetables, salad, green plantains) was my favourite - very flavourful rice with lots of big, tender shrimps.

Absolutely amazing food!!!…read more This is a great new Peruvian place that opened up recently. It is authentic DELICIOUS Peruvian food served FRESH and QUICK ! I can't boast enough about this place. It is more like a fast food atmosphere but knowing how quickly you will devote the food, there's no need for too much seating space. Location: Mississauga. Located in a plaza therefore, plenty of parking. You order at the counter, they give you a number. You can sit, or order to go. They bring your order to your table. In traditional Peruvian style, they serve you a little bit of "Cancha" while you wait. (Corn sautéed with oil and salt , like a tiny snack but I love it!) I ordered Ceviche de Pescado. Traditional plate. It's Tilapia cooked in lime juice serviced with sweet potatoe, cancha, fried fresh plantain and a lettuce. Sooooo good!!!!!!! I'm drooling as I'm writing this. This was followed by Lomo Saltado. The most tender and fresh Lomo I have ever had!!! (Beef cubes) served with fries with rice. The sauce is tomatoes with onion, and it's a fusion because they add the soy sauce to it. This is also a popular traditional dish. For dessert we took some to go. Alfajor, (like a soft cookie top and bottom with Dulce de lèche inside. I think , I ate it to quickly) Masamora made with something purple that I cannot remember. Arroz con lèche (rice, condense milk, cinnamon, raisins, sooo good!) These two are supposed to be eaten side by side in Peru. We bought chicken tamales to go as well. For drinks we ordered Chicha Morada (made with purple corn ) and I think it was Maracuya or Granadilla drink. Either or, it was delicious!!!!!! Although the prices are a bit on the higher side for these places it is worth it! Delicious, fresh and authentic!! Post pandemic and inflation it is understandable. It's a family owned business and they need to open one up in Toronto. :)

The ceviche brings me back to Lima. Taste is excellent. Perfectly balanced Would highly recommend…read morethis place.

They don't…read morealways have what I am looking for but as a business, it is difficult to keep stocked up when products from South America are so expensive to begin with. If they ever offer products that are not exactly fresh, they always mark the price down, so some people appreciate the savings. (my mom likes buying day old pastries and freezing them!, later puts them in the toaster oven and they're like fresh again) . I wish the city would renovate those shops tho, they are not the greatest but that's not La Favorita's fault. I wish them continued success.

Honestly, I'm not sure why this spot has such a low rating. I loved it!…read more It's kind of a hidden gem and the inside is a little bit on the grungier side, BUT the products they carry and the empanadas they serve are AWESOME. The ladies at the front were super helpful and I even got to practice my (very basic) Spanish by conversing with them. My aunt is a regular here and she recommended getting the empanadas and the churros. So that's exactly what I did. I picked up 5 Colombiana empanadas, 2 regular churros, 1 dulce de leche churro, and a large pack of their salsa. I LOVED EVERYTHING I ATE. The dulce de leche churro was a big winner in my book. The Colombiana empanada was even better with their salsa on top. I'm thankful that my aunt knows my love for Latin American cuisine and recommended this spot. When I'm back in Brampton, I'll make sure to pop in here to pick up more empanadas, churros, and salsa. YUM.
