    generous taster!

Quaint brewery with friendly folks! This is the type of place that looks like a cobbler's shop on a cobblestone street. It's nestled into a very residential area. The beertender was friendly and informative, the setting was warm and inviting. It felt like a library..with drinking...and talking. For me, the standout beer was their sour. It was very, VERY sour (just like I like 'em) and quite complex. I did sample many other beers though, and they were all solid! I only wish they had some lagers on tap which, they apparently often do. Aforementioned beertender told me they'd have some in a few weeks. Great timing since I'll be back in PGH then!

Check out their Tuesday night trivia for a fun night! I was lucky enough to form a team with a very nice woman at the bar and while we came in near the bottom, it made for a fun night. Leigh created fun trivia questions and had a great song list between questions. The bartender was very nice and helpful. I really liked the Well Met English Pale Ale draft. It was really drinkable and I would have quaffed several more if I didn't have to get up early the next day. They don't have food but you can get some killer Thai food from nearby Nicky's Thai to enjoy with some refreshing beers.

The second iteration of the brewery that was formerly 412 is now Late Addition, and the team is doing a fantastic job. They are a group of experienced homebrewers turned professional and brewing up a large variety of styles and tastes. The taproom has been updated a bit as well to feel more cozy and welcoming. As a local neighbor I'm loving the new vibe and every drink I've tried so far. Most recently I had the German pils which was delicious and light. The mug it was served in completed the experience. I look forward to more people discovering what's new here and seeing the growth. They have a good thing going.

Such a great, new ("late") addition to the North Side!!! Im not a beer drinker but they made the space so welcoming and cozy (for humans and dogs alike). Everyone is super friendly and adds to the great vibes here. They have Stateside Vodka Seltzers and and a mixed cocktail for those who don't drink beer, not a ton of options but I appreciate the fact they had some. I also appreciate they're one of the few breweries in Pittsburgh that are open until 10pm (except Sunday), 7 days a week. No food here, but they'll often have food trucks on certain days (check their site). You can also grab something from Albertas, or Nicky's Thai kitchen across the street. Definitely recommend!

A new brewery has recently taken over the location previously occupied by 412 Brewery on the north side. This new establishment, Late Addition, opened in 2024 and has brought a fresh perspective to brewing while continuing the tradition of crafting beer in McKees Rocks. They offer a variety of unique beers, including the Kolsch Style Ale, "Elements of Eloquence," at 5.3% ABV, which was rarely available at 412 Brewery. I also enjoyed their "Consider Yourself a Summer Ale" at 5.1% ABV. The conversation with the bartender was great, and the beer was outstanding. I highly recommend stopping by. Cheers!

The building itself was once the St. John the Baptist Church; in true Pittsburgh fashion, people restored and converted the original building to make it a functional restaurant. A note about the interior dining room: you can either sit on their dining side (which has larger tables) or the bar side (which has some booths but is primarily high tables and chairs). The menu has a good assortment of appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, and other entrées. They used to have both traditional pierogies as well as a "flavor of the week" option, although these days they seem to only serve the traditional ones. The menu is refreshed somewhat regularly, so over the years I've sampled salads, fish dishes, pasta dishes, and sandwiches. It's hard to have a "go to" order when it might disappear, but you'll likely find something good when you visit, given the range of options. (Currently, I'm a BIG fan of the Street Corn Arancini. Definitely give these a try while you can!) While the food won't necessarily knock your socks off, let's remember: this is the Church BREW Works. The beer and cocktail menus are definitely where it's at. According to Untappd their current beer menu includes an assortment of Belgian, Porter, Lager, Pilsner, IPA, and Stout style beers. I'm more of a cocktail person myself so I always sample something new when I dine here (again: the menu is refreshed regularly), and I have yet to be disappointed! Like I said at the start, this is one of those places that we try at least once. I'll still come here with friends for sure, but this is admittedly not an establishment that I'll go out of my way to visit. It's fine - not amazing, not bad, but fine.

Crisp and a touch toasty. I describe it as awesome I only took one picture tonight of my Pizza!!! Wow!! Full of flavor & cooked perfectly. The Lamb Sausage & Peppers pizza featuring housemade lamb sausage, roasted red peppers, confit tomato, ricotta and burrata cheese, hot honey, and basil. It was amazing. We also shared some of the house made chips & onion dip & wings. Then the rest of our party had the smash burgers. A fun relaxing night!! Definitely will continue to go to Cinderlands warehouse.

My girl friends and I came after four years of me wanting to come here. I love Gravel Grinder and live close to an OTB so heard of Dancing Gnome from that. Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it. We ended up going to Grist House and it was a WAY better vibe and WAY busier...I wonder why. I should have known when their sign said no dogs allowed.

So I just said whatever and reluctantly took the plain burger.
