They've created a nice sitting area outside the taproom by the sidewalk. There is street parking right in front-usually you can find something pretty easily. The place was surprisingly quiet - my friend mentioned that they get VERY busy during the summer, when people attend events across the road and want to buy beer to go with their market and/or food truck purchases. Speaking of food trucks, Hibachi Lou was parked out front on this particular Friday. So my friend and I got our hibachi orders at the truck out front; ordered our beer and/or cider from the bar; and took everything to a table in Back Alley's dining area to enjoy. While the place wasn't packed it wasn't empty, either; families and groups of friends were playing board games at every other table or so. So, what did I think about the drinks? I'm really glad Back Alley had Arsenal Cider on tap - I ordered a glass as my "sweet treat"/dessert after dinner. First though, I decided to try a beer. Back Alley, if you see this: I'm a BIG fan of sour beers and would order those if they're on the menu in the future! As of now though, no sour beers, so I ordered a "Snowed In" - Back Alley's spiced winter ale. It was a dark beer with a blend of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, hence the "spiced" moniker. While not something I normally seek out, I really enjoyed it and am glad I tried it! Altogether, it was a 10/10 experience - I'm so glad my friend and I came here for our Friday together. For this brewery we had two different types of beers. Both very solid and good. The first beer was the Streetlight Stars. This beer was a Cream Ale which I do really enjoy when I can get a hold of one. Flavor highlights in this beer are creamy, a hint of sweet corn, crisp and a clean finish. It's also a nice light bodied beer. The other beer was the Midnight Blue which is a porter. This was good too with it's flavor characteristics of Cocoa, Malty, Smokiness and a dry finish. It's a nice, dark beer to have. So definitely a good and promising start with this brewery with the two beers we had!

The only way to improve this meal is grill the bun but that is preference. We got here and no one was here but by the time we left there was 20 or more. The bartender was great: super friendly and he was a great guide. The place was slightly loud in the main room but they have a lot of space to spread out; there are other areas you can go to for large groups or groups that want a quieter environment. They have a nintendo-esque gaming console set up by the couch in the corner and my friend's kids were loving it. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We saw a few dogs inside and people bringing in their own food to munch on with their beers. I saw a couple bags of chips at the bar, but it seems like they have a decent rotation of food trucks that come through too.

Abjuration is awesome! Honestly we are probably there at least once every few weeks. They generally do a new release or two each week so there is always something new to try. They announce each release on Facebook. They offer online ordering and then allow two weeks to pickup. They make the whole process easy. Oh and even better you can order single cans so if you are unsure if you will like something or just want some variety you are set. The staff here is phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. They are knowledgeable and happy to help you find a beer you will truly enjoy. I have witnessed them go above and beyond to make sure a customer was happy with her experience. They recognize the regulars and always offer a greeting. It is one of the things that makes this place special. They have a beer garden set up now with picnic tables and a fire pit. It's nice because it offers up extra space. I have heard people ask what Abjuration is known for. It seems to be for their "weird" beers. Honestly they have some of the widest variety of beers anywhere around and yes that includes some weird ones. They are the brewery responsible for getting us hooked on sours. They make sours with herbs that drink more like a cocktail. They have sours made with ice cream or candy (or multiple candies in one) or straight fruited sours. They truly run the gamut. They always have some basic easy drinkers on like a lager, a brown, a Kolsch, etc. I have heard their IPAs are good (though I'm not an IPA drinker). They don't do stouts often but have put out some good ones. They also have done a few different rice wines that are unique and delicious. Abjuration just keep doing what you are doing and killing it.
