I've been to the original location in Charleroi in the past. This one I've walked by a million times but never stopped in for a drink. Parked in the area for class and stopped by. The place is great, small but right to the point. As they have pinball machines in the back and a good variety of beers. I sampled the Fourth Street which is a dry hopped 6.6 ABV beer. It has a nice cloudy and amazing taste to the beer. This was my favorite offering that they had in place. I highly recommend this place.

Great brewery on the north side! They brew in Washington County from what we were told. There were 10+ beers on tap, including several hazy options. I ended up torn between Fourth Street and Queen for a Day. Both were delicious and opted for the Queen for Day for a lighter ABV after having come from Threadbare. It's a very approachable beer and offers good character. The spot has a long bar area and some seating by the pinball machines as well. We ended up sitting outside to enjoy the nice weather. They're great and had umbrellas up and available to adjust. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and a pizza food truck was available out front. I didn't try but my party did order a white pizza with jalapenos they enjoyed. Street parking was easy, check it out!

Enjoyed the Sour Cerveza with triple berry. Also, tried a draft cocktail - strawberry mojito. They were both very refreshing. The outside patio had plenty of seating with umbrellas shading the tables. Pinball machines in the back room are a great edition to this brewery. Was glad to see a food truck selling pizza. Heather thank you for the great service.

4Points is making the best IPAs in Pittsburgh. They always have a great selection. The bar is fantastic and laid back. And the service is second to none! Shout out to bartender Justin!

Let me start by saying my boyfriend and I love visiting different breweries, both in Pittsburgh and when traveling. We had been to the original Four Points location once and loved it. Then we happily picked up four packs at Giant Eagle. We were happy to see a location was opening closer to be able to go and enjoy the taproom. We have been in twice before. Last night we decided to stop by just to try two different beers. We tried the Every Time Only Once (Blackberry/Pomegranate) and it was delicious. We also tried the Oatmeal Creme Pie stout which was okay but definitely didn't live up to some of the other stouts we have enjoyed there. They have the beers up on a board but do not list sizes or prices. Previously we had been offered paper menus but this time we had not. We were told the beers came in 8 ounce or 16 ounce so we ordered an 8 ounce pour of the two beers. We got our beers and grabbed some seats towards the front as the bar was pretty full. Fruit flies galore! I understand bugs happen but there was easily 20 fruit flies zooming around my head and my beer. I killed several even and there was too many. It was distracting for sure. I felt like I was worrying more about keeping bugs out of my beer then I was enjoying the beer. The bartender was talking beer with customers which is always a good thing. The bartender was discussing how other Pittsburgh breweries charge too much and the beer isn't worth it. This is the second occasion where we heard him sharing this opinion. He is entitled to his opinion but honestly I would rather see breweries supporting each other as so many local breweries do. However the real kick in the pants... $16 for two 8 ounce pours. Completely ridiculous. I have since looked at the online menu and I now see we were charged for full pours. So a bartender saying how other breweries overcharge for beer while overcharging your customers... not a good look.

Cool atmosphere here, great service, and good selection of beer. I had the marzen and enjoyed it. Came with a group of friends and we sat in the back near the arcade games. If I lived nearby, this would be a regular hangout for me.

Great beer selection, multiple styles. Some cool pinball machines in the back. The marzen came in a German style mug.

Glad we had an opportunity to stop at this brewery. Another opportunity for wide selection. Enjoyed the small bar setting with some comfortable window chairs. Also had seating in the back. Very good IPA selection.

This is an under appreciated brewery perhaps. The product is exceptional. The space is decent and improved with the outside concrete patio. Service can be slow at times but it's attentive to the product and when you have a server they know their stuff. It, along with Allegheny City is a great go to for us before games/concerts if you want to avoid the corporate stuff a few blocks away

Nice space with lots of open seating. Good beers as well! They had a wide variety to pick from. Very good coffee porter out right now. The bartenders are very nice and friendly! I also love the glassware and outside seating during the summer!

Nice draft

The bartender was rude. Period. He treated us like an inconvenience. The beer is ok but not worth the rude attitude.

Great beer, great vibes, great service. Friendliest bartenders in the city. One of my favorite breweries in town.

The building itself was once the St. John the Baptist Church; in true Pittsburgh fashion, people restored and converted the original building to make it a functional restaurant. A note about the interior dining room: you can either sit on their dining side (which has larger tables) or the bar side (which has some booths but is primarily high tables and chairs). The menu has a good assortment of appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, and other entrées. They used to have both traditional pierogies as well as a "flavor of the week" option, although these days they seem to only serve the traditional ones. The menu is refreshed somewhat regularly, so over the years I've sampled salads, fish dishes, pasta dishes, and sandwiches. It's hard to have a "go to" order when it might disappear, but you'll likely find something good when you visit, given the range of options. (Currently, I'm a BIG fan of the Street Corn Arancini. Definitely give these a try while you can!) While the food won't necessarily knock your socks off, let's remember: this is the Church BREW Works. The beer and cocktail menus are definitely where it's at. According to Untappd their current beer menu includes an assortment of Belgian, Porter, Lager, Pilsner, IPA, and Stout style beers. I'm more of a cocktail person myself so I always sample something new when I dine here (again: the menu is refreshed regularly), and I have yet to be disappointed! Like I said at the start, this is one of those places that we try at least once. I'll still come here with friends for sure, but this is admittedly not an establishment that I'll go out of my way to visit. It's fine - not amazing, not bad, but fine.

We stopped at Velum on a Tuesday after realizing traffic home was a nightmare. We decided to wait it out with a pint rather than on the parkway. We received a friendly welcome and were immediately informed it was happy hour. Velum is a gigantic warehouse-sized space with indoor pickleball, arcade games, darts, pool tables, adjacent to the rock climbing, an outside seating area, food trucks, and brewery. The size and versatility of the space made it so there was something for everyone. We enjoyed our beers. I'd recommend it and would come back.

So have you seen that meme out on the InterT00bZ that's like "Hey let's go to that new beer place…read morethey have $27 warm hazy IPAs in the middle of a parking lot?" Yeah, that's the vibe I was getting at Velum. There was a lot to like and a lot to not like about this place, so I'll start with the bad and end on a positive note. First off, it's in an old brewery and it looks like a warehouse. I'm not sure if they still brew their own beers but it straight up looks like an old warehouse. I've seen abandoned warehouses that look less like a warehouse than Velum. Maybe some people like that vibe but I felt like the cops were going to bust in and shut the party down like a teen coming-of-age movie. The taproom is all the way in the back, and so are the bathrooms, so if you break the magic circle, prepare to get your steps in. There's no kitchen. They DO partner with a food truck but they're getting their own review. I paid $10 for an average cocktail and $8 for a 12 oz cider that frankly wasn't that great. Either better drinks or bigger drinks, please. And everything is community seating. I don't hate the idea but I didn't care for the vibe so when I found a smaller table my friend and I grabbed it and boarded it. With that being said, there was a lot to like too. First off, we were there for a pinball night, and they have a great selection of pinball tables there, both classic and modern. I really would have liked information on joining a pinball league, but that wasn't offered anywhere that I could find. Plus on that particular night it was $10 for all-you-can-play, so we definitely got our money's worth there. The staff that I did interact with were super nice. That goes a long way and saved this from being a worse review. And the place is dog friendly, which is always a huge plus for me. All in all, I had a decent night. But the question as always is if I'll go back. Unfortunately, probably not of my own accord. If there's another pinball event, I'll definitely go, but it's not going into my rotation of cool spots. Not every place is meant for me, and that's fine.
