Their build process brought us in on every critical decision point throughout our 18 month journey. There were no major surprises or cost overruns. The custom home that we have now meets every requirement that we laid out, specifically all the aging-in-place requirements. We are now prepared to support our elderly parents to permanently live with us as well as host visits from our three adult children and their families. You should have your requirements identified early on so Tony Foreman can bring the resources to fulfill your dream home. Our home could be on a tv show. The Foreman team has access to incredible carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, excavators, painters, roofers, and HVAC professionals; and they all are responsive when Tony calls. Building on the side of a mountain isn't for sissies and Foreman Builders was up to the challenge.

It is a lengthy process with many choices and decisions that must be made in a timely fashion. Tony and his entire staff made it as easy as it can be, from lot design to buying appliances and accoutrements, they were there to assist. We made a lot of new friends in the process. That is the nuts and bolts of the actual process. Regarding the craftsmanship, you won't find better. From the carpenters to his subcontractors Tony employees the most meticulous people in the business. And he is very hands-on, insuring that every single detail is up to his high standards. We absolutely love our new house. What few irregularities that surfaced (present in all construction projects) were rectified immediately. And if that's not enough, Foreman Builders guarantees their work for two years. Regardless of your building needs you, absolutely, owe it to yourself to talk to Tony Foreman before you choose a builder for your custom home. I felt that the cost was competitive with other builders in the area. I would remind everyone that the devil is in the details. If you want it done right, call Tony.

I'll give the 2 stars for Tracy. She was polite on the phone and very prompt in her texting…read more I called to get a quote, and I sent photos and details of the job I was requesting, through text. I needed 3 hinge recesses done, as well as a striker plate recess. I was taking my left hand out-swing door, and making it a right hand in-swing door. A task for even the most basic diy'er. I simply didn't feel like getting out my wood chisel to do the job. So, I figured I'd hire someone who could, just as easily (with the right tools) have the job done in under 10 minutes. I wasn't needing patchwork done. I didn't need paint. No threshold to adjust. Nope. Just the recess for hinges and a striker plate. Child's Play. Bruce was the "Craftsman", who apparently, gave the quote for my job. $255.00 That's not a typo. That's actually the quote I received for this job. Stop laughing, guys! Seriously. While it is laughable, I want to know, who thinks THAT highly of themselves? Come on. Needless to say, they were not hired for this job, and I certainly won't be contacting them for any future jobs, either. Instead, I retrieved my chisel from the garage and had the door switched in under 30 minutes, on my own. I guess I hold the title of "Craftsman" now, too. I've included photos of our texts. It clearly shows the ridiculousness. Last thought: Do yourself a favor, and pick up a book, watch YouTube, or talk to your dad before hiring someone like this. Most home improvement jobs really are quite simple if you just take the time to educate yourself properly. Edit: After reading the response from the owner, I'd like for people reading this review to have some extra information. *1. This company never knew what others had estimated for the job, as it was never discussed with them. They did, however, go through my other reviews to find what another company was charging. That's the only way they'd know. 2. Coming in at $255 for this particular job does not make them the hero of this story. It makes them just as self- serving as the other company. 3. I'd never dismiss someone's experience or education in the home improvement field, as I, myself have over 15 years of it. (That shouldn't be relevant to receive fair pricing) To include, woodworking. Which is why the estimate was appalling. I'd never dream of trying to take advantage of those looking for help at a fair price. 4. Trying to shame someone for the way they review the business and the interaction? Disgusting business practice 101. "It's not our fault. You just don't understand." This concludes the edit, and the reason I've now deducted a star. *

Unreliable and overpriced for the mediocre result, which was frustrating and disappointing to me.read more

The company billed me for two hours for work that was not completed. I called another company, Blue and Gray Electrical, and their licensed electrician fixed everything in 20 minutes. A+ claimed that I had been sold a defective part for them to install, but the licensed electrician easily installed the part and it worked (and still works) just fine. Also, the licensed electrician noted that the fixture had not been installed properly--it was not flush with the ceiling--which he was able to repair in just a few minutes. Stay away from A+.

Fast forward to Jan of 2022, I thought that perhaps I'd try them one more time. I called and spoke to Jim. I told him I needed my left hand out-swing, hollow core, interior door, turned around to become a right handed in-swing. I didn't need patch work. I didn't need paint. I didn't need the threshold work done. I simply wanted to hire them to give me the recessed hinge openings, and the recess for the striker plate. THAT'S it. I didn't speak Japanese, it was very plain English. Jim began with telling me he'd always recommend replacing the frame for a job like this. It's quite annoying being up-sold right after outlining, in specific detail, what I wanted the job to entail. I wasn't calling for advice or permission. I was calling to get a quote. I told him that a new frame wasn't necessary, as my frame work is great, and all I wanted was the recessing. He then said the most laughable and cliché contractor thing to say. That "if the job is straightforward" he'd only charge between $250-$300. I'm still laughing! Did you read that all the way through? $250 to recess 3 spots for door hinges, and 1 striker plate. Needless to say, I didn't hire them. And, I won't be "trying" them for anything else. Instead, I retrieved my wood chisel from the garage and got the door switched on my own. It was a basic, no frills, diy project. Maybe I should think more highly of myself, and charge exorbitant amounts of money for menial tasks?....Nah, I'll stay a decent person.
