I needed 3 hinge recesses done, as well as a striker plate recess. I was taking my left hand out-swing door, and making it a right hand in-swing door. A task for even the most basic diy'er. I simply didn't feel like getting out my wood chisel to do the job. So, I figured I'd hire someone who could, just as easily (with the right tools) have the job done in under 10 minutes. I wasn't needing patchwork done. I didn't need paint. No threshold to adjust. Nope. Just the recess for hinges and a striker plate. Child's Play. Bruce was the "Craftsman", who apparently, gave the quote for my job. $255.00 That's not a typo. That's actually the quote I received for this job. Stop laughing, guys! Seriously. While it is laughable, I want to know, who thinks THAT highly of themselves? Come on. Needless to say, they were not hired for this job, and I certainly won't be contacting them for any future jobs, either. Instead, I retrieved my chisel from the garage and had the door switched in under 30 minutes, on my own. I guess I hold the title of "Craftsman" now, too. I've included photos of our texts. It clearly shows the ridiculousness. Last thought: Do yourself a favor, and pick up a book, watch YouTube, or talk to your dad before hiring someone like this. The company billed me for two hours for work that was not completed. I called another company, Blue and Gray Electrical, and their licensed electrician fixed everything in 20 minutes. A+ claimed that I had been sold a defective part for them to install, but the licensed electrician easily installed the part and it worked (and still works) just fine. Also, the licensed electrician noted that the fixture had not been installed properly--it was not flush with the ceiling--which he was able to repair in just a few minutes. Stay away from A+.

No change orders, no estimates for additional work, just a bill and "I'm sorry, I should have stopped and made a more formal estimation to communicate these changes to you before they happened. I can understand your frustration." Point out any poor craftsmanship and his ego can't handle it, even though he's never around to supervise his crew or direct them not to do the same bad work twice. Dwight Campbell the business owner answered the phone and was at my house in three hours to do some measuring and to give me an estimate. Within an hour after meeting us he was at Lowe's to purchase the materials. He gave me a price for the entire job while at Lowe's at which time I said you're hired! This was on Saturday, he texted me after leaving Lowes and said He would be here Monday morning to get the job done. I just could not believe the expeditious way this guy does business. I've never heard of calling anyone for this type of work and not having to wait weeks to get it done. Dwight was true to his word, he texted me at 7:45 Monday morning saying he would be here at 8:30 AM. As promised he was here and had the job done by the end of the day. Everything was nicely completed just the way we wanted and while he was here I actually had him do one other little job we had been putting off doing which he didn't even charge me for. I have no reservation at all recommending this company for the work they do. I was very satisfied.
