I used to ski every winter here at the Brianhead resort and I have to say the resort has definitely improved through the years. We went skiing last week for the first time in years and I had to end my day here with a tasty brew. The bar is a nice size with plenty of large tables, nice views, and of course some brews to try. I didn't eat anything but the food I saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. I had just finished my last run of the day and I enjoyed a Wasatch Amber. It was poured by the friendly Zoe and we struck up a conversation about winter sports and hiking. On warm, summer days they offer outdoor seating out on the nice patio and gives you a nice seat to hear the live music. Just know this place is here for you when you finish your beautiful day on the slopes! Cheers! read more

Cliff Notes Price Range: Medium Parking: Free (If you can find a spot) Perk: Food is great Non-Perk: Service is a little slow, no hard alcohol Ambiance: Saloon feel Noise: Medium Recommend: Yeppers! Dissertation If you want to duck in to a fun place to unwind after an intense day of skiing, this is your place! While service may take a while, it was most definitely worth the wait or maybe we were just starving so crackers and cheese might have been just as divine. We ordered the Chicken Chipotle sandwich with onion rings and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. Both were scrumptious. The fries had a strange shape but were so tasty, like a chip and a French fry had a baby that was heavenly. One other draw back, is they do not serve hard liquor, which kind of sucks but it's Utah, they have their own rules that are completely different then Las Vegas. However, I would most definitely go back, the small inconveniences aren't enough of a deterrent. (Sorry, forgot to take pictures) read more

I came here last weekend on a bachelorette trip. I know, Brian Head for a bachelorette trip is a little odd, but it was actually a ton of fun. We stayed at the condos across the street so decided to walk over here and grab a late lunch and some beers. Even though it was the lunchtime rush, we didn't wait too long for a table. There was ten of us total so I was surprised they were able to put something together that quickly. The restaurant is located upstairs and the kitchen is downstairs so if you're waiting for a table, step to the side so you don't get hit with a tray haha. The servers are pretty good at warning you to get out of the way though. Since it was one of my best friend's bachelorette parties, I tried to order her a shot of whiskey as soon as we got there. Even though photos on Yelp show an old menu of whiskey's, they actually do not have any hard alcohol here. It's all beer, white claws, and ciders. Our server, Jimmy, recommended the apricot beer so we got an entire pitcher of that! It was delicious and definitely a great recommendation. We loved having Jimmy as our server! We decided to order some bites to share and got some quesadillas. The food wasn't the most spectacular, but again, we had some great service. Jimmy did disappear for a bit, but I'm assuming it was because the place was packed! So no hard feelings there. Also, it was insanely cheap here! We came back here at night, too, after going night tubing. They had live music playing and it was a lot of fun! We grabbed some beers and sat by the fire outside where they had a speaker so you could still hear the live band. read more

Was looking for a place that served alcohol, came across this spot. It was a bit hard to find , but once we did , the place is super spacious. We were able to seat ourselves as it wasn't busy during the time we went. Picked a table near the window to watch people come down the mountain. We ordered the mango beer cart drink, very delicious. 10/10. However we didn't get the mango garnish as described in the menu. For food we ordered the chipotle burger and fish and chips. My gf said her chicken burger was kind of dry , and cold, but she loved the onion rings. I loved my fish and chips, huge portion. However the Cole slaw lacked dressing. Overall recommend :-) read more

Apparently a lot can change in a year. Last year a group of friends and I stopped here for lunch during a break from the mountains and had an awesome experience, this time, not so much. We came in around 2 pm on Saturday. First off there wasn't anyone at the host podium so we stood there for about 10 mins before being greeted. Once we were greeted we got seated pretty much at the same time. We were seated for over 20 mins and were not once even acknowledged by the sever, Elizabeth, at all. We watched her literally approach every table around us without saying a word to us or even looking our way. One of the members of my party even asked the front host for us to be helped and still no one came around. We also tried to flag her down and she wouldn't even look our way. This place is a joke of service. I won't be coming back here ever again. If you wanna save time and money, go somewhere else. read more

I read a few reviews here regarding the bad service. However, this wasn't the case with us. Our server, I believe her name is Dakota, was great! She kept checking up on us and asked if there were anything we needed (but not to a point that it was annoying). She did a great job of making sure our drinks were always filled too. We went on Saturday around 4pm and there was a live band playing which was a nice touch. I really did enjoy the music the band was playing. They had great energy and their voices were easy on the ears. I knocked down 2 stars for 2 reasons: 1.) The food was mediocre. I got the bacon cheeseburger and chicken noodle soup and both were just blah. The cheeseburger was more on the dry side and didn't have much flavor. The bacon did add a nice crunch to it though. 2.) I think it's pretty ridiculous that you HAVE TO purchase an entree if you want alcohol (see menu in pics). Also the price of a cocktail is crazy. They were Vegas strip prices. My friend got a cranberry vodka and it was $12 for like 6 oz. Would I come back? Although the service from Dakota was good, I most likely will not come back mainly because of the food. If I want mediocre food I would just cook it myself. read more

After a long day boarding, we were starving! Prior to our trip, we found out that they would be having a BBQ night during our stay. Got seated for a table of 11 adults plus 2 kids and then we were given menus. We weren't informed about the BBQ specials by our server but saw it on the board behind us. The options were: ribs, pulled pork, and a tri tip sandwich. So once our server came back, we were about to order and she informs us the menus she gave us aren't valid and that the only options available for tonight are the BBQ items on the board. She also said she's new, it's her first day, and she didn't know (I would think new servers are informed of what is served for the day/night so they can inform their tables). We have vegetarians in the family so they were going to opt for the fried catfish, which was on their regular menu. Server went to speak to the manager or whoever was in charge and the lady proceeded to make a comment saying "well, we have A salad." This is no way to approach the situation. We didn't receive any apologies for the menu mixups, just an attitude from these women. We all left the restaurant and told them we will be finding another alternative. We were NOT going to sit there, enjoy our BBQ dinners while our vegetarian family members had A SALAD. If you're going to have specials for a specific night, please include more options. 3 options to choose from for dinner is definitely not enough. Also, vegetarian options such as fish or shrimp would be nice so that everyone is accommodated for in general. I'm not a vegetarian but I was really looking forward to their fried catfish and bbq ribs.. however, after receiving this type of service, I'm glad we didn't dine there. read more

I like this place, fairly priced and a fun addition to a day in the snow or on the slopes. Food is good, prices are fair and staff is nice. I'm not sure I'd call it a saloon, but on an Utah scale I guess it's fair. read more

This past weekend was my first time here and it was FANTASTIC! Everyone working was super friendly and just all around great people. I wish I remembered our server's name the first night, I think it was Christy. She was so down to earth and accommodating. The second visit or waitresses Zoe and Olivia were rad. Very attentive and outgoing. I didn't want to leave by their personalities alone. The food is bomb.com. I don't know what they do to their fries, but leaping Jesus they're amazing! They had fresh jalapeños that I added to most my orders. I was blown away. I have to give a shout out to the dude running food, changing kegs, and all that stuff while also being a delight. Wish I got his name cause he deserves all the props! Don't sleep on this places 10 out of 10!!! Thank y'all for making our experience up her that much better! read more

A much welcome addition to the Giant Steps lodge - upstairs above the cafeteria. They have several Utah beers on draft from Uinta and others available by the pint, schooner or pitchers. The menu includes much of what is available in the cafeteria downstairs but they deliver to your table. The food items include soups, chili, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and other appetizers - I can't remember them all. We shared some tomato bisque soup (standard as you would expect), the risotto croquettes which were amazing and worth it. The burgers were a little fancied up (I guess for $13 you would expect that) with a fresh baked bun and some unusual toppings, and they came with fries which were good. The Utah beer selection was good, I enjoyed the session IPA (had to keep it mild since I still had a half day snowboarding to complete). I also enjoyed that they served you free water which helps keep you hydrated at the high altitude. The only sad thing is that they close somewhat early (a few hours after lifts close and later on weekends when night skiing is going on), so it won't really be your dinner or after ski bar, which is sad since there isn't much around Brian Head. read more

I will be honest I didn't have super high hopes for the food here but I was pleasantly surprised. We had the beer flights which were a great way to sample their great selection. We also had the pulled pork sandwich, a classic burger and fish and chips and they were all great. Service was friendly and fast. A great spot for a meal in Brianhead read more

We have been skiing at Brian Head for 5+ years and it has always been an awesome experience. W/ COVID, we were concerned about coming back but want to support the BH resort. Been skiing for past several days, resort and operations continue to remind everyone to practice health safety and social distancing. Yet the New Year's eve dinner at Last Chair Salon was packed like sardines - tables back to back esp the ones close to buffet line. UNSAFE. Event host, bartender , and some servers were not wearing masks and/or only partially covered face. An easy super spreader event. Major disappointment w/ NY Eve dinner venue when the ski resort is doing a good job in all other areas to keep everyone safe and keep the community going. read more

Too bad so many people are complaining. No wait! This is GOOD. For those of you who are entitled or are looking for Fleming's, I hope you never come back here ! Ha ha. We came here three times during our stay. Each time the service was phenomenal. Food was good enough (much better than average!) and especially for when you come down off the mountain. Now, about some other random reviews I read here: -- closing too early ? BOO HOO HOO, put on your big boy/girl pants! -- Entrre necessary with alcohol? UTAH LAW you idiot. Lol. read more

Super hip little restaurant/bar above the lodge at Giant Steps! The food was tasty bar food, they had a good selection of draft beer, there's lots of tables and the service was ok. Definitely a nice place to chill in between lift runs and grab a drink. read more

Terrible service. No one was kind. Made us pay for things we didn't want and they made terrible nachos didn't have many drinks. Table next to us didn't pay for anything but they didn't do anything to them and we were just sitting here ordered fries and they said that wasn't enough so we had to get more. The stuff we had to buy in order to stay had to be $8.95 and higher. Not impressed. read more

It's a great addition to the lodge - with bar, music and cool decor - but every time we have been here, the service is extremely slow... It's not staff's fault - we see them constantly running around trying to get everyone taken care of - but there are only about 3 waitresses for about 30 tables... So it took about 20 min for one to come take our order.. Extremely understaffed :( I don't know how many people are in the kitchen - but I assume probably not enough either as a simple sandwich took about 30 min.. Sucks to waste so much of precious ski time when we just wanted a quick snack.. Took about an hour and a half total for something that should have been a quick stop. Food is pretty good, nothing fabulous - but certainly good enough for a ski lodge. Just wish it didn't take this long... read more

The food is decent bar food, but served on cardboard plates with plastic cutlery. They ran out of nearly half of their beers on draft (?!?!?). The excuse was that New Years was rough ... Uhm, it's been 8 days since New Years. I am pretty sure they made deliveries since then. Great view though and the service this time was decent. Last time I was here,I waited 15 minutes before I got up and left. I think this place is lacking is good management. No beers/service breakdowns are common. read more

This place is super pleasant and on a Saturday had great live music! Although this had a bar it is a restaurant not a bar however if you order something from the menu you will have a good time. The service was great!!! We did try the chicken wings & I would say it was one of the best flavored chicken wings the hubby and I have ever tasted. Tami was are server and she was definitely a 5 star server! read more

We have been coming to Brian Head with our family for the past 13 years. We have seen and experienced many changes some for the good and some NOT so good! We are here today on a holiday weekend and for the first time ever we were not able to go to the Last Chair Saloon and find a table. We arrived at 11:10 to get a table and relax. Apparently the rules have changed from 2 weekends ago when we were here last that the restaurant does not open until 11:30! They are only serving very limited menu items. And doing a buffet that is not open yet and it is noon. Our waitress Dakota is sweet and just following the rules. But we are extremely disappointed with the so-called changes!!! read more

Came off the slopes STARVING! Could smell the burgers! We waited about 10 minutes before anyone came by our table. This is typical for this place. We never get good service. There are never enough waitresses and the staff runs around me crazy. The other option is to go downstairs to the cafeteria but we don't do that because it is busy and with a lot of kids. She took our order of two beverages and burgers with fries. She brought our drinks out fast and we waited. 30 minutes later I asked for another drink which she brought promptly. Another 30 minutes goes by and we ask if she could check on our lunch. She said that the main cooks called in sick today (New Years Day, go figure) and the kitchen is backed up. She said she would go check though. Miraculously three minutes later our food appears. It was very cold. We ate most of the burger because we were so hungry but the bun had sat out so it was crusty. The French fries were very cold and inedible. She came by a bit later and asked how everything was as she could see we hardly touched our food. I told her it was too cold to eat so we were finished and would like the check. You would think this is a good opportunity to maybe take a couple of bucks off the bill. Apparently it wasn't. $28 for two cold bacon cheeseburgers with cold ass fries and two beverages. Geez. This whole scenario took over an hour and a half. What a waste of ski time. I heard people order food downstairs then bring it upstairs to eat. We may try that next time. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of options here. This place needs more staff and better management. read more

I guess it's typical of ski slopes restaurant/ bar but they have so much potential here that it's disappointing to see the pitfalls. The service is lacking and really not all that helpful or friendly. Perhaps if they had more staff they'd be able to be more attentive, upbeat and helpful. The food itself is fine, nothing really pops but at least it's not bad. The biggest downfall is they stop serving food at 3. That's just CRAZY! I mean the chair lifts stop at 4 and the majority of people getting off the slopes for the day looking for a meal and cold adult beverage is right around 3/3:30.... it's bad enough that the whole mountain basically roles up the carpet by 6 but why are they shooting themselves in the foot by not serving food until at least when the lifts close???? read more

The bar tenders and wait staff were great. Jimmy and Misty were very attentive and provided excellent customer service. The catfish with onion straws are a good choice. The thai chicken, broccoli cheddar, and tomato garlic soups are also very good. My preferred beer was mango cart. Totally recommend this place. read more

This is the only bar on the Giant Steps side of the mountain. It's a cozy, spacious bar with indoor seating and an outside patio. I love the snowboarding and skiing signs hung up on their walls. The service is good. The bartender told us we had to order food if we order a drink. We were going to order food anyway so it didn't really bother us. They have a good selection of draft beers and bottled beers for the finicky craft beer lovers and your common American beers available. The food is just average but after snowboarding, you are most likely starving and will probably finish it anyway. I like that they have pitchers of water and cups available on a table to keep you hydrated. read more

I would say don't go here, but it's the only bar in town. And they bend you over for it. If you want a beer, each drinker must order an ENTREE (not an appetizer). So if you want a beer it's $25. This isn't because of utah law, this is a screwjob. BYOB if you go to brian head. Waitress says the out-of-town owners just enacted the rule and raised the prices. read more

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon the slopes closed. Because this restaurant is in Utah you do have to order food in order to get served food. Ordered the pulled pork with onion rings and a pitcher of beer. Great way to end the day. The Saloon wasn't crowded and we were seated quickly. read more

Season passes - hit or miss if they work. 2 out of the 3 years we've bought our season passes early they haven't worked,, and we had to go to the office to "fix the issue" There's no issue except this company who can't get their process straight. John NEVER had this issue...and I've been coming here since 2011...... Food? Don't get me started on the cafeteria food they serve now... The prior owner, John Grisainger at least had GOOD food, quality food being served. Not this cut rate, previously frozen, cafeteria food that's now "available" here. This place is sad, and I doubt John thought this company would turn this place into what it is now. Who in their right mind thought downgrading everything but upping the costfor everything was a good idea..... Oh, I know.... A corporation that DOESN'T care about its customers, that's who.. Do better. You're capable of it.

Price really went up for saturday, like $40 more so i just sat by the fire pit while daughter used her season pass. The equipment rentals are pretty reasonable if you do not have your own The main lift is pretty speedy, the smaller lift to the shorter (not less steep, just shorter) hill was slower but less crowded and offered you an quicker escape if you needed it . I ended up walking halfway down the paradise run as i got a slight concussion trying to snowboard for the first time at 53. Very pretty, but getting encroached on by private villas. which loom over the slopes

Im not dirty but why tell me to pull out linens and other little things that a maid should do. a maid should change all linens even if other rooms is not being used, specially this pandemic time. sanitation is very important, You expect me to check out before 11am but you give me so much job before i go. i have to wake up so early just so i can finish tidying up this place, i'm in Utah to have a good time and enjoy the scenery for god sake.

The Cabin was large with washer, drier, wood fireplace, chopped wood outside, heat control in each room and a humidifier in the main room. The key was left in the lock box outside which was nice to just go straight to the cabin. I also liked the fact that the entrance to the cabin had a secure walk way before you entered the living quarters, that way you could leave your boards outside but still secure. There were some oddities i must say especially in the kitchen. The (side by side) fridge was set flush against the wall so that the freezer door couldn't open all the way only swung open 90º before you hit the wall (couldn't open 180º) which forced us to put some items in sideways. also the stove was almost flush against the kitchen cabinets so that you couldn't open the stove all the way (maybe 45º?) it would hit against the kitchen cabinet knob. Both these things combined made it difficult to make store bought pizza since the toppings had slid to one side in the freezer and having to take the pizza in and out of the oven at an angle. Out was more difficult as the oven door was hot and avoiding it was a bit tricky. The beds were a bit hard and springy you could feel the springs in your back. Not that im expecting a pillow top mattress or anything but having had back surgery I'm a bit picky about my sleeping environment. Pros: just a few steps from being on the slope of Navajo Peak (beginner side), all the amenities that you need. Cons: No hot tub, hard beds, bad layout in the kitchen. Over all, it comes down to location, location, location... so right on the slopes is A-OK for me.. if you're planning a long trip and lots of cooking in the oven you might think twice.

No worries though as there was plenty of up close parking near the lift ticket office on a holiday weekend. No parking fee's at the mountain. Charming unit for the price and a good value as far as a studio at the mountain base goes. This unit is not updated but the funky old stove and fridge add a little to the charm factor. If you want a Colorado Ski Resort vibe, you can drive up the road a couple miles to a couple other options (priced accordingly). We encountered some problems with the unit upon check-in and management immediately addressed the problem. The problems reappeared on day two and management again immediately responded. I would rate the property/unit with 3 stars (A-OK) but bumped it to 4 stars due to management going over and above to make things right and assure that we were comfortable. I recommend this place for a good value vacation spot. Great people!
