It saddens me to have to write a negative review about moving into Lassen Village. My hopes of moving into this building were big. I jumped through the hops that the leasing office put me through, and I made it into the apartment. I was so excited. During the approval phase, the leasing office struggled to provide the accurate version of the application and lease. The forms were revised numerous times. Once the document was revised, the leasing team, Ashley and Jennifer, would rush me into getting me and my daughter to sign because I could lose the apartment if I didn't send back that same day, little comments like that. I am not upset that the forms required multiple revisions, that's not that problem. The problem was the approach from the leasing team. When I asked Jennifer for support on the final lease agreement, I was denied and told, just to go to the email. I asked if we could do it together on move in date since there seemed to be a step I was missing, and I was denied. Moving day arrives, Saturday, 7/5/25. I made a mistake and previously selected the wrong liability amount, I attempted to adjust my policy two days prior the move in date but the renter's insurance company did not respond before my move in date. So, I had to buy a second lease on my move in date to ensure I didn't have to pay the Moving Company for nothing and it's a three-hour minimum, so I couldn't cancel my move in date. I accept the error on my behalf of not following the proper instructions to select the $300,000 limited liability. To correct my mistake, I purchased second policy until the renter's company can fix my initial policy. I had this corrected before asking for the keys. During the time I was talking to Jennifer about the revised renter's policy, her customer service skills were non-existent. She appeared annoyed with me and was short. To make matters worse, she told me she could change my move date if I couldn't get the revised policy. I was stunned at her suggestion since I had mentioned earlier in the conversation that the movers were loading up already. I found this disappointing because moving is stressful and I have not been unkind to Jennifer. This company wants a lot of details before moving in, that's fine, I provided it to them so I don't understand the animosity towards me. Some friendly and kind customer service would have been helpful on the day I was moving. Based on Jennifer's reply, I became frustrated and hung up the phone. I later realized that I had to take ownership of selecting the wrong policy amount, so I called Jennifer, and I apologized. We moved on from there without any issue. She thanked me for my apology. I went into the office, finalized what was needed from me, and I went on my day. I was not aware she was still upset with me and that Ashley would later confront me in a harsh tone about the past and resolved situation. Come Tuesday, 7/8/25, I walk into the leasing office to show Ashley new pictures of the damage I am discovering in my unit as I unpack in certain areas. As soon as I mentioned I had pictures to show her, Ashley boldly stated how she would not have let me move in on Saturday without having a copy of my daughter's ID. Then her scolding rant continued until I interrupted her to defend myself because at that point, Ashley was mad and squinting her eyes as if she wanted to jump out of her desk share and lunge at me. Meanwhile, Jennifer sat at her desk quietly. Ashley then stood up and stated how I was rude to Jennifer on Saturday and how I was previously rude to Ashley. I then mentioned how Jennifer and I had addressed that situation respectfully and had move forward without any issues since then. Ashley also offered to cancel my leasing contract if I was dissatisfied. Please tell me who wants to hear about having to find a new place to live after paying $1,500 to a Moving Co. Ashley's approach was unprofessional. It felt like an ambush when I walked in there when I just needed support to get the issues in my apartment corrected. For example, the corners of the wall and ceiling were not painted in several rooms. The shower stopper didn't have the proper stopper, the stove filter was full of drywall dust, the dishwasher has orange left over something in it, the bathroom cabinets had black dust. I will upload the pictures. The apartment was in horrific shape, but Ashley is upset because I didn't give her a copy of my daughter's ID? She didn't do a final apartment walk through. The issue that made me write this review is a questionable comment made 7/9/25. This comment came from Vince in Maintenance. He stated, "if she keeps having issues with her apartment there's going to be an issue". I'd like to understand what he meant by what? What is his intention? Why am I at fault for the apartments poor condition? My daughter heard him from the hallway. I emailed the Applications guy, Alex Diaz, but I have not gotten a response from him. After living here for almost 2 years I have to update my review to be more accurate. This place seems really nice at first but there have been some things I experienced as a resident here that make me upset. The elevators are constantly down. Currently the west elevator is down and management let us know it would be down for 3 weeks, no reasoning or explanation. It has already been down maybe 6 times this year. Each time for weeks or even over a month. Accessibility is not their concern at all. They will send repeated email communication about "balcony inspections" dictating what we can put on our balconies and anything that's "unacceptable" to them needs to be removed. Why don't we focus our energy into fixing all the problems instead of what people are putting on their PRIVATE balconies that we pay to rent. This past summer they let the entire pool turn green. I repeatedly called them to let them know that the pool was looking greener every day but they kept insisting the pool man comes every week. I told them that in that case he's doing something wrong, the pool is freaking green. They continues to make excuses. Eventually they cleaned out the disgusting pool, probably after many more people complained. The "gym", if you can even call it that, has minimum 2 broken machines at a time. There's 2 treadmills, 1 is always down. There's a bike that has literally never worked. The other machines work ok, but it's frustrating that there's never a time when all the machines work. On top of that it's so freaking hot in the gym room, they don't always turn the ac on. During the summer we would work out and be pouring sweat from the heat, it would be 90 degrees in there. Nothing that a quick dip in the disgusting pool won't fix. The tenants are mostly college students, sometimes riding their electric scooters in the hallways. No one ever stops them or says anything. Today they decided to test the sprinkler/smoke detectors in our apartments by having them loudly beep every couple minutes. They barely sent an email out the day before saying they would be testing them for 2 days lasting 10a to 3p! I was woken up by the extremely loud chirping of the smoke detector. I work overnight and had barley been sleeping for a few hours. I repeatedly called the office to see how long this would last or if they can stop so I can sleep first. They never picked up. In the middle of their business hours on a Thursday morning. They let the phone ring and ring and go to voicemail each time. It honestly felt like they were purposefully avoiding answering the phone to not deal with the upset tenants. They do not care about keeping up the amenities. Last summer, the HOTTEST summer on record, many of the ac units in the building stopped working. They gave us small window units to temporarily use. These units used sooooo much electricity and skyrocketed our bill. At the time I asked a gentleman working in the office if we could have some sort of rent discount for the month considering our ac was out for about 2 weeks and central ac is considered an expensive amenity that was no longer being provided. They avoided the question and basically told me to ask again later when they fixed the air conditioning. They told me that we would get a discount based on how many days the ac was out. We never got a discount. My roommate works from home and had to live in 90+ degree inside temps for about 2 weeks. The only people who are genuinely hardworking and lovely people are the cleaning and maintenance staff. The cleaning crew is so sweet and kind. Maintenance department is quick to respond and shows up to fix small problems almost immediately sometimes. Living here is not the worst, but it's also not the best. There's a lot of shortcomings. I only base these off of what they promise and charge us for. When we are paying for amenities that we are unable to use for significant periods of time, this is a shortcoming. When they advertise **sparkling pool**, **amazing fitness room**, 2 **convenient** elevators, they are over exaggerating. There's a pool, it's cleanish. There's 2 elevators, but 1 or BOTH are often not working. There's a fitness room, BUT half the machines are broken and it's hot as a sauna! Ironically the actual sauna's in the fitness room also don't work and never have. Overall it's not a terrible place to live, but don't believe that everything is as advertised. read more

We've lived here a short time. This property is not at all what it lives up to. I reached out to management and sent 3 emails I never heard back until I asked for corporates number. Since we've been here this is how the pool looks, nothing in the gym works, and the washer/dryers run low you have to pay 3x the amount. I asked for a discount to be applied the pool was "under maintenance" all summer. It just opened and now looks like the second picture. Really hoping to get ahold of corporate to discuss a discount especially when the apartments are always invaded by ants. read more

We are definitely loving it here so far. Ashley and the rest of her team in the leasing office are very helpful and understanding. They keep the building clean and in top shape. They have a good online system where you can report security and maintenance issues, as well as any issues you may have with other tenants.There's a courtesy patrol service that comes to the building as well. They also have lockers at the lobby where your packages can be dropped for extra security. Overall, this is definitely the best apartment we've lived at, night and day difference from what we were used to. I'd guess the only issue I have is some neighbors can be loud late at night, but that's what the courtesy patrol is for. read more

She made sure everything was a breeze from the moment I toured the property. she explained all the steps and how to go about applying and just made it easy. prior to moving in I explained how one of my other units forgot my move in date and had not had it cleaned or even walked through before I moved in. and they STILL expected me to move in that day. it was a terrible experience needless to say. Just moved in and I'm so glad we did! The staff is amazing and super friendly! The apartments are spacious and have lots of storage space, two closets in each room, one being a walk in. The place is pretty quiet especially for a college area. We love to enjoy the hot tub every night and there's even a sauna connected to the gym. It's clean, well kept and has a good vibe. Former tenant here. As this was my fiancé and I's first apartment together, there was a lot we were both looking for and this place really worked for us. The front office staff was always very friendly and responsive. Maintenance requests were always responded to very quickly and efficiently. After searching for an apartment for almost 2 months I have finally decided to move into Lassen Villagr with my girlfriend and I do not regret it! The place is wonder and the units are so spacious and well lit! Trevor helped us with our move in and made the process very simple. The whole management team in the office is super welcoming and friendly! This is the place to call home if you're looking for somewhere with a great atmosphere! Not much to say for anything bad and the place is quiet during the week besides the weekends it might get a little noisy. Rent is expensive here but it is the best value your going to live somewhere nice without over paying for other buildings like this one. read more

I've been living here for 4 years now, going on 5 in October, and if I could rate this building with 10 stars it still wouldn't be enough. The first year was rough. Aggravating. The leasing office was never open, manager never picked up or returned calls, it took forever for repairs, the place wasn't being kept clean, and a lot of the tenants were loud and disrespectful. I almost packed up and left but the rent was decent and moving out from the 3rd floor is a pain so I renewed another year. I'm incredibly happy I did. Every since they fired the previous manager and brought in Ashley, it's been an absolute pleasure living here. I know 90% of the staff on a first name basis. She's courteous, polite, professional, and no-nonsense. Over the years they've had different regulars working along side her in the leasing office and they've all been fantastic. Justine, Lauren, and another lady who's name I don't remember. There's a gentleman by the name of Trevor in the office now. Clean cut, suit and tie, very likable and professional. The maintenance crew?! on point! Rudy, Rodolfo, Darrell, and Rahbi are all stars. Any repair orders I put in are taken care of the day of or the day after. They walk in with little socks over their shoes, handle business with a smile and a handshake, and on to the next. I even allow them to come in when I'm at work. No issues whatsoever. The building runs like a well-oiled machine. The hallway carpets are always being cleaned, elevators wiped down, pool and jacuzzi are crystal clear year round, laundry room, gym, and even the garage structure are swept with a broom and dust pan. The plants, flowers, and grass are always groomed. Security is ever-present. I just can't say enough about this place. Thank you all for truly making my family feel at home here. read more

Lived here from Summer 2014 - January 2015. I am hoping things are better for the current residents than the brief period I lived there. Management is awful, deceptive, and not on top of it at all. Ashly consistently misrepresented rent and forced myself and my neighbors to pay much more than was stated on the lease. The management preys on college students in hopes that they will default on payments and therefore raise the rent. Ashly is one of the most rude, incompetent, hypocritical and nasty people I have ever had to rent from. There's a feeling of anxiety from living here that management might suddenly decide a new policy or rent price or inspection - it's disruptive and not worth the money whatsoever. Find anywhere else to live if you need to be close to CSUN. The rent used to be competetive but now you could likely find a much better complex slightly further away. read more

Ashley and Lauren are always so professional and friendly at the same time. Even though they work starts at 9am, they were making pancakes for all the residents at 7am at clubhouse. I was so skeptical about living so close to a college & Now I'm skeptical about leaving this review because I selfishly want this place to remain a hidden gem .... Going on year 2 here ... This place is so peaceful , quiet and so well kept Everyone here from maintenance to management is lovely and attentive . Which is hard to find in a larger apartment complex . I communicate frequently via email because of my work schedule , I always get a timely response and eager to help vibe . In fact, the site manager always ends her email response to me (which is never on topic of repairs) with , let us know if have any maintenance requests ... I recently moved into Lassen Village about a month ago, and wanted to express how easy the process was. With the help of Ashley the apartment manager everything went smooth. She is quick to help in anyway she can and very professional. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone looking to move in. The complex is super clean and our apartment was renovated right before move in. There is plenty of street parking if you have guest over. I can not wait to move out of this place. I was stuck moving here for work and unfortunately did not have enough time to look for a better place to stay.  As others have stated, this place is filled with obnoxious CSUN students. Our next door neighbors frequently play music loud enough to shake my bed at 3am. I have respectfully asked them to lower the music more than 3 times, each time being ignored or rudefully told to deal with it. I have emailed and attempted to contact the staff here more than a handful of times and received no response, let alone any action or notice towards said neighbors. I've called Summit Patrol (overnight security) more than 15 times and each time was told they would "send the guard to address the issue." Not once has the noise issue been resolved. The hallway smells like weed and people are blatantly smoking off the balconies.  Families with young children often let their children run around and scream down the hallways. There is trash on the floors within the building (in the laundry room, hallways, underground parking). There is a trash chute in which you can throw out the trash, but people there are so lazy that I often encounter trash bags and diapers on the floor NEXT TO the trash chute. It's just filthy and disgusting. You will never find parking in front of the complex except during CSUN's spring break or winter break. There was recently a car vandalism alert regarding cars in the gated parking area. Although the complex is gated and requires a key for entry through the front of the apartment, the doors are often jammed to stay open or blatantly propped open.  My only compliment to the place is that maintanence is very responsive and quick it repair anything that needs to be fixed. The maintenance staff is also very friendly. Even then, I have personally talked to a maintainer and was told how poorly they treated their maintenance staff.  This review only begins to describe the horrors of living at this place. For anyone who may think I'm a grouchy, anti-social person that hates college students, I'm a 22 year-old having just graduated from college myself. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay, my advice is pay the extra hundred or two a month and avoid the huge headache altogether. read more

Most of the negative feed backs about this building is true I have went back and read a post from 2016 and it's still accurate to this day, this building is old and everything is broken, this the only building that I have been in so far that required a group guys from maintenance every week fixing things, from broken laundry's that don't wash and dry your clothes, thin walls, roaches, and trash on the hallways in front of the trash suite but this is because of my neighbors are leaving there trash there, honestly I can't really blame them as well they might be unhappy how the building is being run, I've been part of two major moisture associated wall damage due to water leakage where they take over most of your apt leaving a containment with a really loud noise and hot dryer for days ( So far my longest experience was for 2weeks) even though they re-inverse you the amount of days they took to work on your place it is not much and more of a inconvenience, I don't really whose to blame, the rude management or corporate like for example when we were going through a roach infestation mgnt immediately accused us of being dirty, and were forced to comply with their policy and procedures for the pest control if not I was told " I could be liable for future cost of pest control" for our unit and other unit around us. I don't know how long I can tolerate this building any longer, if it weren't for my kids and my pregnant wife whose due in a couple days/weeks Ill move out in a real quick. read more

Stopped by Lassen Village during my much dreaded apartment search. Met Trevor and was soooo impressed with his customer service. I've never been through an easier process. He explained everything so well and gave us a very detailed tour. I was out of there in less than 45 mins with a move in date to my ideal apartment. Very great customer service, clean community, great rent prices and I get to have an accent wall in my new apartment! I love this apartment complex. I've lived here for 8 years and it's a safe building with security roaming around. The staff members and the maintenance team is always here to fix any problems you have right away and Ashley really cares about everyone who lives here and does everything she can to keep you and your family feeling comfortable living here. I've seen and lived in other apartment complexes and they usually don't take care of issues that occur right away or fix things very cheap where things will keep breaking again and again , that's why I highly recommend it here because you won't find issues often. I honestly recommend this place to people looking for apartments in this area. Before I moved here, I was a little hesitant about some previous negative reviews. However, after living here for six months, I can say as long as Ashley is still working here, you won't disappoint. Ashley and Trevor are very polite and professional. We don't have much trouble with our unit to begin with, but the couple of times that we actually had to ask for help, they absolutely delivered. The maintenance staff are very friendly as well. They always give me heart warming smiles when I see them around the building. The pools, hallway, and common areas are always clean. I am pretty sure they are cleaned daily. Underground parking is awesome for summer here. Gym is small but sufficient. The only downsides we had were traffic noise facing Lassen Street and occasional lost packages. But again, the leasing office is happy to receive packages for tenants. You just have to make sure that the delivery personnel knows you want your packages to be delivered to the leasing office. read more
