3 years in a row the lease renewal office has raised my rent higher than the exact same unit being rented out currently. If I've been here for 5 years paying as much as a new tenant feels odd. I moved here on a whim and I'm rather surprised at my experience. The property manager, Samantha was great during the entire move in process. I have lived at a different equity community before in Santa Clarita and I've never had any problems with them, however if you want to cancel your lease early good luck - it's an outrageous fee so make sure your gunna live here for the full extent of your lease. Yes, this property is a little more on the expensive side but I feel that helps keep the riff raff out to be honest and also, if you were to rent a normal condo or town home outside of a corporate community, you'd be paying a lot more so I feel the current pricing for this community is fair for what you get. The garages are super spacious, even the one car garage. I will say, the one bedroom is a little on the smaller side but I came from a big home so it was just an adjustment and for one person who doesn't have a lot of stuff, it isn't bad. I wish the one bedrooms had balconies of some sort, but they do not - only the two bedrooms. I wouldn't say the kitchens are "upgraded" but I wouldn't say they were dated. They are just normal kitchens, nothing fancy. I feel safe walking my dog around the community at night and over all, most people are respectful and pick up after their dogs. Some people suck and don't, but that's everywhere you go. It's a rather quiet community and everyone I've met here is very pleasant. Very very dog friendly, a lot of residents have dogs. I also enjoy that I can walk to Starbucks or the mall or any of the local shopping centers if I don't feel like driving. I like it so much here, that I'm willing to pay the extra money and I'm upgrading my unit to the 2 bedroom after only living here 3 months because I just need more space and also, the north facing building + the combination of dark wood floors in my unit is kind of a downer. I have to keep my house lights on all the time for light which is one of the many reasons I'm upgrading my unit to a 2 bedroom south facing unit with more windows. I was told most of the upgraded units from here on out will have light colored floors which I prefer. If you're going to live here, I do recommend the south facing or west/East facing units as the north facing units tend to be pretty dark inside and the one bedrooms lack windows. My unit for example, only has the sliding glass door window and a bedroom window. I haven't been to the pool or the gym yet so I can't report on that. Overall, I like this community and I would recommend moving here. I've seen the bad reviews and honestly, every place you live is going to have its pros and cons. However, I think this is a great place to live considering the current housing prices. read more

Was scheduled for a self guided tour at 530-6pm but was told they won't give out keys after 530. Why put a 530 schedule then? I would have arrived earlier if there was parking but all parking slots assigned for future residents were taken and I had to find parking elsewhere at the shopping center and walk back. I assume it's 1 visitor per time slot so how come the parking is full? I took time off work and left an hour and half earlier for that. What a waste of time. If your workers don't like what they do they should quit. If that's the kind of accommodation they provide when they want you to sign up for a lease, how will the service be if they already signed you up? I'm guessing it'll just go downhill from there read more

I recently moved in around August 2024. Since the beginning to now it has been truly enjoyable to be a resident here. The staff are all nice, maintenance is always on top of things, and neighbors are chill. A lot of inside gate community to walk with dog poop stations and bags conveniently placed everywhere, even outside the community. I am very happy in my choice. read more

I have been living here for 2 years now and the experience has been great. The last time I renter an apartment anywhere was 15 years prior and wasn't a great experience. Since day one the front office is really easy to work with. Will on the maintenance team always gets things done super fast. You see him driving around and always ask if everything is going well. Since artisan is laid out like townhomes, the walls are thick and you don't hear your neighbors on either side. Extra plus that you have your own garage. Overall can't complain read more

This is a decent place. Other reviewers pointed out good sides of the community. I would like to tell you about a big problem that I encountered. The problem is not within Artisan Square itself but outside of it. There is a shopping center called "Walnut grove" located right across the fence. They have loudspeakers and cameras installed on the backwall of the shopping mall. And literally every night the alarm goes off and loudspeakers blare "You are trespassing. This area is under video surveillance". So if you happen to have a sensitive sleep and your unit is close to the shopping center you are in trouble. The management teams is aware of the problem but it seems they are unable to do anything... read more

I recently went to take a tour of a townhome and I was very satisfied. I was allowed all the time I needed to look around and get a feel of the community. The cleanliness of the home was on point. I have lived here for 2 years and for the most part I have had a positive experience. Pros: One thing I will say about this community is that the 1bedroom units are very spacious as well as the garages. This community is also smoke free which is nice. There are appliances (dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, etc.) in each unit but not the good ones (lol). Also, Mr. William C. on the maintenance team is amazing! He was actually the one who moved me in since the office staff was not on property at the time. He is always so kind, helpful and efficient. Cons: ALL of the appliances are outdated. They will not update any appliance nor will they clean your carpet out of courtesy when you renew your lease. My rent was also increase by 10% when I did renew my lease which happened during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, I know the staff cannot control tenet behaviors but we have a lot of irresponsible neighbors who do not clean up after their dogs or properly dispose of their garbage which makes the community to look run down. If tenants started to get fined, I'm sure it would change the community culture. We will be moving out at the end of this lease but it was a decent resting spot that we needed during the pandemic period. read more

I lived here a year ago and whatever you do please please take pictures of the townhome before you move out. I wish I took pictures of all the damages the unit had when we moved. This will be a very long review and I am very upset at the fact that they charged us for all the damages that were there when we first moved in. I had wrote down all the damages that the unit had and I called Danielle to fix the damages and so a maintenance guy came in a little older man with grey hair I forgot the name but literally every damage that was there he said was there already. Some of the damages that were there were - water was dripping from the third floor to the first second floor next to the living room and dining room area, they decided to peel the wall paint and paint it over We got charged for that, how is that our problem? It was our very first day we moved in - the laundry room doors were broken they didn't close right They charged us for that, when I reported that - the bathroom fan was so dirty from the very start, we didn't complain but now that I'm seeing the charges I should've because they charged us for that too. - they charged us for so many things that were damaged from the start in the unit so my best advice please video record or take pics of the unit Also they charged us a moving fee which we were never aware of and they kept our deposit. We never saw or signed a early termination letter stating that we have to pay to move out. Now my account is on collections because of this unit. Please be aware of them. I've never dealt with an apt like this. read more

I am not real happy with management. From day one three places left their cans out for trash when it was againt the rules. I told management and they said they were handling ut, well nothing was done for the six minths I lived there. They also nickel and dime you with your deposit. They charged me to paint and clean stairs when the place had crayon marks on the back of closet door when I moved in and other markings on walls. Normal wear and tear is the price of doing business and with what they charge, that should be part of it. Then when I didn't want to sign another three month lease, I was assured that if I left before, there should be no problem renting it out quicker and not having to pay for being there. That has yet to happen, Very unhappy with them! read more

Staff is horrible they have a constant turnover of staff , they do not communicate with one another and they are just so rude! If you ask for corporate number they run around in circles, the website does not provide any corporate number simply send a message and they will get back to you. "I love living here! Everyone at the front office is awesome." This was the beginning of my previous review. And it was a 6 star review! The maintenance crew Jiro and Will are AWESOME! They get to know all the tenants and help out whenever we need it. And Danielle is WOW! What a lovely woman! She is kind, warm, cares about ALL of her tenants, and always responds quickly whenever we need help or have questions. The neighborhood? Beautiful. Lots of beautiful trees surround the entire property along with a one entrance/exit gate, so you are secluded and have privacy and safety. Nice playground for children and plenty of space for dogs. So why only 3 stars? Honestly, I had to fight myself to not give them a 2 star. Because for two full weeks, we had corporate people in the office and both times everything went straight to hell. All that neighborhood feeling and home feeling you have? Completely gone when corporate sends one of their people. The first time was back in October when we were first moving in. Move in week, we are almost all moved in and a corporate woman comes in for the week and demands that we pay more and change our home insurance policy. When I told her she was flat out wrong she tried to start a fight with me. Then she found out she was making a fool of herself and was wrong and luckily the wicked witch flew back to Oz a day later. And now this week, her sister flew in to wreak havoc. When I tell you that I very specifically knew something was up, I mean I KNEW. I received 4 letters in less than two days trying to make all sorts of enforcements to things that have never been an issue in the community. I felt like I was being bullied by these letters. It was a woman named Bethany this week. And she had an extremely heavy attitude. When I asked where Danielle was she said Lou I'm filling in for her until next week. And corporate will be here next week too". NOBODY ASKED ABOUT CORPORATE SHARON BUT YOUR THINKY VEILED SNARKINESS CAME THROUGH JUST FINE. These two women have been extreme negatives for this community and literally the ONLY TWO NEGATIVES while living here. It's a shame that corporate has no clue how to run a community. A bit of advice; when you step in for a week at one of your properties, remember JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE TEMPORARY AND DON'T CARE ABOUT US AND HOW WE FEEL DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD TREAT US LIKE TRASH. If someone were to ask me if they should live here...my answer would be based on the future planned frequency of corporates fill ins, as it is stressful enough to deter me from recommending. I love living here! It's been almost a year so I feel safe in leaving a review. We moved here from WeHo as our 1st baby was soon to be arriving and we love how family friendly it is. It's also pet friendly which is a huge plus for us. The townhome style feel a like a home and not just another apartment. It's a quiet neighborhood, the people here are nice and it's clean. Complex was doing well until Summer took over and now no maintenance gets done . People are moving out left and right. Property management isn't hard, just attend to the requests submitted . I requested they assist me with a program since I lost my job and they haven't held up their end by simply replying. She responded to my email saying she would get back to me oct. 6th and it has been over a week without a response. Please hire someone like Danielle who does their job if you want your complex to keep doing well. Otherwise, it's going to keep going down the drains . There is literal trash all over the property . She was the main reason we decided to choose to move in vs another option at the time. As we encountered some maintenance issues, Bruce and Will were quick to react and fix within the day or next. We can't wait to live here! It was love from the moment we first laid eyes on the place while checking out the apartments across the street. Danielle and Liz are amazing. They have both been so communicative with me and patient with all my questions! We toured on Monday with Danielle. She was warm and welcoming and well informed about the property and pet policies regarding my ESAs which was so refreshing. She really took the time to show us around the community and all the units that matched what we are looking for. We even met the Service Manager while there and he was very nice. This property is like a little oasis -- great curb appeal and inside its like a perfect little neighborhood with paved streets, a pool, a playground, and the attractive townhouses. Very clean and polished. So affordable too for the amount of space you're getting too and a garage! We submitted an application on site after the tour to secure the apartment we loved most and Danielle processed our application quickly to reserve it. We move in at the end of November and we can't wait to live here! read more

We have been living here since spring 2020. Will (maintenance) is awesome and dependable, always courteous and friendly. He's one of the reasons we continue to stay here. Danielle (manager) was amazing and when she was here, the property was very clean and I would have rated this place 5*. She would tour the complex and say hi to residents -- since she's left, I honestly can't even say I know who the current manager is. And unfortunately, there is a huge dog waste issue now. We live in the back of the property and while most people pick up after their dogs, some people refuse to do so. You cannot walk in the grass or in the other common areas where there used to be a playground because it's a minefield of dog poop. Earlier today, I stepped in three piles of poop trying to pick up my own dog's poop! It's all big dog poop too. The sad thing is there are free dog poop bags and trash cans yet people continue to leave poop in the open right next to the trash can! I don't know how much more lazy or inconsiderate a person can be! We have young kids and they can't even enjoy the common areas -- my son has fallen in the grass before and landed in poop! There are also empty cans of beer that I see daily. This didn't exist when we first moved in. I just can't see staying another year unless something is done about the dog poop and litter. For the amount of rent we're paying, we could easily rent a house and not have to worry about dog poop where the kids play. Unfortunately for management, if tenants don't pick up poop, it's the responsibility of management to do so. Please be proactive in managing this so that more people don't move out. read more

We visited this location in late April 2020. The unit we saw was in horrible condition. The cabinets had dark water stains, carpets were dirty, even the towel rack in the bathroom was broken in half and duct taped together. Other reviews mentioned they are deducted high amounts from their security deposit, that would be correct they did that to us and we lived at another Equity location in Chatsworth. read more

Maintenance staff, Will and Bruce, are always friendly and eager to help, they are just fantastic. The folks down in the leasing office are also friendly and equally happy to help. The complex is well kept, except for some dog owners who just don't pick up their dog poop and let it sit in the sun all day which leaves a great smell you have to deal with while you go grab your mail from the centralized mailbox. If you read other reviews, no doubt you came across people complaining about the parking. Yes, the parking is lacking for visitors, however some residents here don't care and park their cars in the red zone or just have their friends park there all night. This is incredibly frustrating when you are trying to navigate around all the cars parked illegally just to get to your garage. I've complained about it to the leasing office, but I haven't seen anything done about it other than a general email reminding people not to park there. If this was addressed and monitored better, I would consider giving this place a 5 star rating. The townhouse building is interesting. The set up is a little odd with having a long narrow dining/living room, but it's pretty large. The bedrooms are alright, a little on the small size, but manageable. Water pressure is fine, as is the hot and cold water. I haven't lived here for a full year yet, so I can't confirm about people mentioning the price hike during the renewal. There are some train tracks that run behind the complex, so you'll have to deal with some noise and possibly some shaking, all depending on how close you are to them. read more

Absolutely terrible place to live after several packages being stolen and parking issues people stealing your parking spot etc. calling security here is an absolute joke three hours later they still don't respond the very same day after you make a complaint there was a car parked directly in the center of the road at 10:30 at night so that you can't get to your parking spot.... once you get there there's another car parked blocking the garage area if you can't turn around.. Several complaints to management and still nothing has been done. Several attempts have been made to reach corporate with zero success..... read more

Honestly, I feel bad posting this but it's the only way to be taken seriously. Since we moved in about 4 months ago, our patio door has not been replaced. The glass frame isn't connected to the handle anymore and bugs keep coming in. Now we have a pest problem. We submitted maintenance requests and never heard from the leasing office. On my way to work, I see Danielle and she tells me that pest control would be coming that upcoming Tuesday. I said okay, and asked her when they planned on replacing the patio door. She then replied saying that they were working with the manufacturer on it. (still no update btw) Anyways, Tuesday comes and no one showed. My roommate called all morning to try and get ahold of someone after leaving a message the day before asking if we needed to do anything to prepare. Finally, after calling 5+ times, Danielle answers and rescheduled it for Thursday morning. While she was on the phone, she asked Danielle if we needed to prepare for anything, and she said to just move things out of the way so that they had access to the area to spray...Cool, no problem. The service date arrives, and the pest control tech tells us that we can't be present because of the chemicals could be harmful and that we actually needed to leave for 2 hours in order to get it sprayed... We both requested to work from home so we could be present... Needless to say, we're fed up with how management schedules and communicates during any maintenance. Also, we're disappointed that they haven't put an end to the amount of skunks around the property... It always smells like skunk! If this company had their leasing office actually returning phone calls, communicating with their residents during maintenance repairs, and resolved the skunk problem, then they would be five stars. Until there is improvement, I wouldn't recommend leasing with this property management company. read more
