After wearing glasses and/or contacts for 25 years, I'd debated lasik for years. Now, only a week after, I can't imagine going back. Not having to take contacts out before bed, to avoid getting water in your eyes while showering, or even adjust your glasses during physical activities- I can't believe this is how everyone else has lived all along! Two days after my appointment and I was feeling well enough to do Bloomsday. The only thing I regret is not doing this sooner. The entire team at LasikPlus did a great job with communication, scheduling, and answering any of my questions. Specifically, Dr.Iwanyk who performed my procedure, told me exactly what was happening every step of the way and I felt reassured the whole time (and by whole time, I mean ten minutes). Post LASIK update day 3: Vision is great, can read fine print during ads on tv for example. Quite a bit of ghosting/glare around bright text though. Was told that could take up to 3 months to go away. Procedure: It took around 10 minutes or so, eyes fully numbed, then the Dr. pushed some kind of metal rings around my eyes to keep them open, that was awkward. At times I couldn't tell if my eyes were open or closed, as sometimes my vision went black (creepy). Couldn't feel the flaps being cut by the cold laser. When Dr. was pulling the flaps back, what I was seeing looked like it was going up and away from view, also vision was immediately very blurry while flaps were opened. During the laser sculpting, it smelled like burning hair, although no burning occurred. They say it's just a side effect of the laser reacting with molecules. Vision came back when flaps replaced. Could see everyone right away when I got up, but very blurry. Overall very happy I had this done. Keep your expectations in check, read all the fine print, etc. This is a life changing experience. read more

Having had Lasik in the past, I felt I may need a touch up, after my exam Dr. Potter recommended no procedure as my vision wasn't too bad. I appreciate the honesty and professionalism. Will visit them in future if my vision worsens and recommend them to others. read more

I had a great experience with LasikPLUS Spokane. The staff was very friendly during the consultation and on the day of the procedure and explained the process very thoroughly. They were also very comforting to anyone who seemed nervous the day of the procedure. My eyesight was noticeably improved even the afternoon of the procedure and by the following day, I was seeing 20/15. The healing process was simple and I was given very clear instructions for aftercare. The only downside I experienced afterward was some blood vessels that had burst with one of the tools they used, I just had some redness around one iris. But it was completely normal and went away within a week. A lot of the negative reviews I've seen, or the lower ratings here anyway, have mostly to do with the pricing. They do advertise to go as low as $250 per eye during promotions on the radio, but realistically, that pricing is for someone who needs a minimal correction and has no astigmatism. Don't go in expecting your very poor eyesight to be miraculously fixed for $500 total - be realistic in your expectations is my best advice to give. They do provide a few financing options if you don't want to or cannot pay for the entire procedure the day of. I opted to pay up front but they do offer a 12-month 0% interest option which was something I strongly considered. If anyone is considering getting Lasik, I would absolutely recommend going to LasikPLUS. read more

This place is amazing! The initial exam went well, all the staff was super friendly and answered all my questions with ease. Made me felt excited about getting Lasik! The procedure itself went so fast, I was luckily in and out in a breeze because they had just opened back up. I was super nervous but they helped me with that and talked me through the whole thing which made everything even easier. The healing hurts like hell but I would just highly recommend doing exactly what they say and go home and nap. Once I woke up from my nap my eyes were still pretty watery and hazy but I could visibly tell my vision was way better by reading the guide on my TV! Lasik Plus Spokane is amazing!! Dr. Iwanyk has been doing this for over 25 years, over 60k procedures & has such a soothing voice. He tells you exactly what's going on during the procedure. The staff is amazing, so good at explaining what to expect. They have a family atmosphere. I also shopped other Lasik institutes & this one was by far has the most competitive pricing. I was nervous getting Lasik but it was not as bad as I thought. The only thing that was uncomfortable was the device that holds your eyelids open, but it was used for less than a minute at a time. My eyes felt like there was sand in my eyes after, but after a long nap, I woke up with no pain & can see! Wish I had done it sooner & I highly recommend Lasik Plus in Spokane. read more

Starting at $299 an eye yet by the time you walk out thre door it's almost $1,800 an eye because they gave you a 20% discount! Scam alert!! 10 minute procedure so does that mean the $299 procedure is 16 seconds?? Would have been fine if they said between $1,500 & $2,000 an eye before I came in! I imagined it would be more than $500 but when they quoted me 8 times that amount I was very irritated, and when they offered me a discount if I would fill a slot on the following Friday I found it to be extremely unprofessional. read more

I was taken in by the advertisement for $250 an eye. This is a scam! You need specific insurance,. I was told I could get a discount and was still quoted $3,700. I drove an hour and a half out of my way. They also tried to push me into a credit card to cover my costs. What a wasted day! read more

My prescription was -10.00 in both eyes before Lasik, and I am glad to have gone to this office. The staff eased my fears, make me feel comfortable, and uplifted my mood when I was feeling scared. Now I can see without heavy glasses, and I'm happy to have undergone this procedure. read more

Super easy process, the surgery was less then 12 min. And the staff was fantastic. I highly recommend this office.

I am rating this 2 star because I want people to know what happened to me in there. The price is average for your eyes, so that is a pro. More pros include friendly staff, very clean, knowledgeable and ethical employees. HOWEVER, I was given a Valium which was 5mg and it barely phased me. The doctor came in and discussed my procedure briefly, and said that he wants us to both be comfortable. I explained that I was feeling anxious I didn't think the 5mg of Valium (Diazepam I believe) was not effective for me. A few minutes later, I was told that they were ready, so I went in. The procedure was scary for me, as I was suffering from intense anxiety. However, the doctors had verbal affirmations which had reduced my symptoms of anxiety. Another pro is the doctor, he is excellent and you will be lucky to have him. The procedure lasted like 12 minutes. I immediately noticed my eyes were fixed, (a but hazy, but normal) and he checked my eyes with a bright light. Everything seemed to be going well, the tech said that some burning and discomfort may occur, so try to sleep if possible. ON THE WAY HOME, I began to feel intense burning. It began as a 5, then worked its way up to a 10 when I got home. I understand everybody's pain tolerance is different, however, I have had 3 babies naturally, so it was a 10. It was unbearable, and I began moaning in agony as the burning sensation had increased. I was not told this was going to happen. I had my driver call the place, and they said :THAT IS NORMAL" REALLY, AGONIZING, BURNING PAIN IS NORMAL AFTER LASIK?? WHY AM I BEING TOLD THIS NOW?? I w as certainly not prepared, and would not wish this pain on anybody. I took 3 tylenols and within 90 minutes or so, the pain SLOWLY went away, My question is-what could have been done to prevent this? Did they not put in the eye drops enough? Why was I not offered time in a recovery room in case something like this happens? Why was I not offered pain medication? I feel like this was preventable, and I honestly want an answer from LasikPlus. read more
