By following directions of ice every hr I only needed to take Tylenol 2xs. Today, the first morning I woke with a check in call from the office and I had no pain and have minimal swelling. About 25 years ago I had surgery in Portland and it was successful at that time but eventually it was sagging again. About 8-10 years ago I had another Dr. in Spokane do surgery . After a few months I knew the swelling wasn't going to go down anymore and it just didn't work. That doctor told me that it can only be done 2 times. About 4 months ago I went to get new glasses, because even with my glasses I was seeing double. Dr. Stacie Nichols at "The Vision Source in Davenport referred me to have my eye surgery and to "Spokane eyelid and Orbital" for the eyelid work. From the first contact until today I have been very impressed with the care I was given. Dr. Kevin Michels has been great to deal with every time I saw him and today my eyes are better than ever!! Convince you to do unnessesary surgery and treatments. Everything they promised with each treatment DID NOT HAPPEN. In fact, they were giving me eye injection too frequently and come to find that what they were giving me wasn't even for my condition!?! The latest druge - Eylea HD costs FIVE GRAND per eye. I got free medication from the company thought. For the first use of this, it had not arrived on time so they gave me a sample but turned around and billed my insurance ten grand! I pointed it out to them but they did NOT fix it. I have had every procedure you can for eyes except transplant and my vision has never improved. When I asked - which was every appointment - they told me they were preserving my central vision. I can no longer see at night. I have no peripheral vision and can no longer drive. One laser treatment scared by retina - but the did not disclose that side effect. Now they've been bought off by another company and its gotten even worse. They don't seem to understand how to move patients through the office and the wait time is generally TWO HOURS past your appointment. I persaonlly think they do this on purpose so you think they are busier than they are thereby making what you pay seem justified. They changed all the front desk folks and techs after the change of ownership. They are not good. For my last appointment they take me back right after check in for "testing" which goes fast (and is really not needed every six weeks) Then take me back to the waiting room and waiting I did - for almost 90 minutes. Then I get numbing drops and then back to the waiting room for almost an hour. Then - and this is new - they take you into this tiny room for the injections. Its hardly big enough for the chair and the doctor. And now, no helper - they are on a tablet talking. There is hardly room for the doc to move around and poke needles in your eyes! Its horrible. Check out other places like Inland Empire Eye or Multicare - I wish I would have chosen differently.

Before I moved to Spokane, I had cataract surgery in Seattle that left me with a blurry eye. My MD…read moretold me to go to Dr. Gillette in Seattle, and got a corneal transplant. Wonderful result. But transplants don't last forever, and when I moved to Spokane 13 years ago, I needed a new cornea. Dr. Brandt said I was too old at 72, and told me to use a certain ointment that further reduced my vision. Now, 13 years later, I am literally blind in that eye and every other ophthalmologist I've seen says I need a corneal transplant. Getting one in November. One of my neighbors likes her because she did cataract surgery that turned out well, but my other neighbor recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Brandt and now needs a corneal transplant.

The good: Everyone was incredibly friendly! Every interaction I had from the front office staff, to…read morethe technician who started my exam, to the doctor, and the woman who helped me pick out glasses, was pleasant. The customer service was genuinely excellent. The not-so-good: Before my appointment, I was told they couldn't provide an accurate breakdown of what my insurance would cover until I arrived. I have good vision insurance, and my annual exam should only require a copay. While the exam itself was covered with the copay, I was also charged $100 for a contact lens fitting. At every previous optometrist I've seen, that fitting has been billed to my insurance and covered, so this was an unexpected expense. The doctor also recommended dilating my eyes. I mentioned that previous optometrists have told me my pupils naturally dilate enough that it usually isn't necessary. He said he'd like to dilate them at a future visit just to be thorough. I then asked whether they offered retinal imaging instead, since I've had other offices include that as part of the exam. They do have the machine, but I was told it would cost an additional $40. Overall, I had a positive experience with the people and felt well cared for during the exam. However, I left feeling like there were several unexpected add-on charges throughout the visit. While the staff was wonderful, the overall experience left me feeling a bit nickeled-and-dimed, and unfortunately that makes me hesitant to return.

I originally was turned away from another local eye clinic when trying to get an appointment via their triage line, and then in desperation, walking in, both receptionists there were brusk and borderline rude, making it seem as if it was a favor to get me scheduled for later that week. My issue was much more time-sensitive; I had lacerated my cornea. I ended up going to Providence Urgent Care in Spokane Valley, and they were also exceptional. They got me taken care of to the best of their expertise, then ended up getting me an appointment later that morning at Blink. The physician I saw at Urgent Care told me how great everyone at Blink Eyecare is; he shared that it is where he and his family go. Everyone from the receptionist to the optometrist whom I saw was kind, caring, professional, efficient, and made a less-than-ideal situation much better. They took care of me quickly and explained everything clearly as they addressed my needs. They assessed my injury, cleaned my eye, and were able to provide a contact lens band-aid with medicine to help heal my cornea. The optometrist communicated with me throughout the entire visit, and the receptionists scheduled me for a follow-up appointment 48 hours later. Once again, everyone was fantastic at the follow-up visit, and I can tell from all interactions that Blink Eyecare is a terrific business and service within our community.
