I came in for a consultation expecting to pay half my life savings since I was blind as a bat. The price was very reasonable which lead to me booking the procedure the following Friday. My experience with LasikPlus was great. I went in with very bad vision (-9.00 in both eyes) and came out able to see for the first time since I was 5 years old. Overall, my experience at LasikPlus was very good. And as far as the actual surgery goes, I would rate LasikPlus with 5 stars. The only reason for the 4 start rating was the consultation process. The day I came in for my consultation I ran into several issues, ranging from no one being at the desk to buzz me into the office (and having to wait outside for 5+ minutes), to waiting over an hour after my scheduled appointment time to see the doctor. This being my first experience with LasikPlus, I was tempted to go elsewhere for the surgery because of the poor customer service. But the other reviews I read regarding the actual surgery convinced me to do the surgery there - and I'm glad I did! The procedure only lasted about 10 min and was totally painless. Definitely a bizarre sensation once they open up the corneal flap - you can't see anything even though your eyes are open. But other than a bit of pressure/mild discomfort, the surgery was over before I knew it. The first hour after the surgery was definitely the worst in terms of discomfort. Once the anesthetic wore off I had a good amount of stinging, burning, and tearing (although the severity will range from person to person). But once I got home and took a nap/closed my eyes for a few hours I was almost completely better. I'm currently about three days out from my surgery and my vision has almost completely normalized (just a bit of 'glare' at night, but even that has gotten significantly better over the last few days). Overall, I would highly recommend getting Lasik at LasikPlus. read more

It was a great experience for me. I recently got the procedure and I am doing well. Before I had severe astigmatism, and had to wear glasses since I was six years old. Now I can see clearly without glasses. The price is fair for the treatment of both eyes ($4800). The consultation and operation happened very fast. I recovered within a couple of hours after the procedure with little/no problems. I don't think this is for everyone but if you can, it's worth it. read more

I like the doctors and staff but every single appointment from start to finish of treatment I've had to wait an absurd amount of time. An hour for the the consultation, three hours on treatment day and an hour for the follow up appointment. Scheduling is terrible. I'm happy with my results but the lasting impression of the office itself is waiting for five hours. This is really difficult if you're on a tight work schedule. read more

Yesterday I was blind and today I have 20/10 vision. The entire process was well organized, well communicated and the results have been excellent (so far). I'm still in recovery because it's only been 24 hours but no pain, discomfort and better than perfect vision COME ON! Do note, the actual procedure is more uncomfortable than expected. It's well worth doing but it's not just a walk in the park, you'll feel out of it after the surgery and you'll 100% want to sleep... however if you're like me then 5 hours later you'll have perfect vision and no pain read more

When I stepped into the office, I noticed it looked very professional and clean. The customer service was great, everyone i spoke with was very helpful and informative, they even give you a short video to watch and encourage you to ask any additional questions you might have. That put me at ease as I was really nervous, i mean who gets excited about having a laser put thru your eye?!. I met with the Dr. Fleishman the day of surgery and she was very pleasant. The actual surgery is a bit nerve racking and slightly uncomfortable but it's all over in a couple of minutes. I had custom Lasik in November (4 months ago) and have 0 regrets. My vision is better than 20/20 and the dry eye hasn't been as bad as I thought it might be during the winter months. It's expensive, but worth it! I went first to a free consultation and had a long list of questions, which Dr. Salonia and Vinton Vital (the director) graciously answered. They were realistic about their answers, and stressed that I can come in anytime during the year after the procedure for another post-op checkup, or even another laser procedure to correct anything (rare). I felt really good about the professionalism of the staff, even though I didn't meet Dr. Fleishman, the surgeon, til the day of. After the consultation, I left a voicemail for Vinton with more questions, and he called me back the next day with detailed info. After making sure the price I was quoted hadn't changed and had no nasty surprises, I scheduled my procedure. My contact lens prescription was a -6.0, in the "sweet spot" for Lasik: so bad that Lasik would be noticeably life-changing, but not so bad that I wasn't a candidate for Lasik. I paid $3600 for custom Wavelight laser eye surgery for both eyes, including $150 of eyedrops and supplements. This was just a little more than what I'd optimistically ballparked doing my own research, but it is definitely in the range for custom surgery for my prescription. The $3600 reflected an $800 discount (as an incentive to schedule now rather than wait to use an FSA next year) as well as a $350 discount for having Davis Vision insurance, although Davis Vision didn't know anything about that. While I think it's helpful if more people shared what they paid, I should emphasize that pricing varies based on procedure, prescription, insurance, and so on. I also appreciated that they didn't push me into that healthcare credit card that some other Lasik places try to make you sign up for. They had a flyer for it but my "scam-dar" was never triggered. The surgery itself was as quick as everyone says it is. The surgeon ensures that you are the person they expect from their list. The first part of the surgery, when the machine presses down hard on each eye to make the incision in the cornea, was the worst part of the experience, to me. I'd never felt such pressure on my eyes before. After that, your corneal flaps are just flappin' around, so everything looks like a Monet. The assistant helps you toddle to another chair, where the laser surgery actually happens. For both parts of the surgery, an eye-opener device is used to open your lids really wide, similar to but not as awful as in A Clockwork Orange. RIP some of my lower eyelashes. Right after the surgery, I could see clearly but it was foggy and I felt really bleh. My friend helped me into a cab and made sure I got home okay. They had me wear funky sunglasses to make sure I didn't accidentally rub my eyes. I napped on & off and listened to an audiobook. By 7pm (about 6 hrs after surgery), I got up, made dinner, and watched TV. Dr. Salonia described this to me perfectly: your eyes will feel like you're constantly cutting onions for 6+ hrs after you get home. But at some point in the night, it's like a switch turns off: you feel fine again. I had the surgery on Thursday and took Friday off work. I had a normal weekend, walking around town and seeing friends. I was back at work by Monday. My eyes were puffy for the next few days, and pretty bloodshot for a week and a half. I put in eyedrops religiously for ~6 weeks but eschewed the HydroEye capsules (just can't swallow them). These days, I'll sometimes feel really tired in the afternoon and realize it's just dry eye. Eyedrops make me feel better. Tips for people who have signed up for Lasik here: - Take the Valium they offer. This isn't (just) to calm you down, it's to make you feel sleepy afterward so you take the recommended 6-hr nap. - When the laser is on your eyeball, you will smell it. It smells like burning hair. Nothing much you can do about it, just be prepared so you don't get startled and move. - The surgery room door has a big glass window, through which you can see a hi-def TV screen *zoomed into each patient's eye during each part of the procedure.* Who knows why. I thought it was grossly fascinating; another guy took one look and went to the bathroom to vomit. Sit facing another direction if you're squeamish. - The HydroEye supplements they give you are huge, and their contents taste so disgusting they can't be mixed in with, say, a smoothie. If you're bad at swallowing pills, maybe ask not to purchase those. - Make sure you know how to control your smartphone with voice commands, if it has them. "Okay Google, send a text to Mom" was a lifesaver when I didn't feel like opening my eyes after the surgery. read more

I've been wanting to get laser eye surgery for YEARS - definitely since before college. I began to use glasses at the age of 9/10. I am now 28. However, I was always nervous about the procedure itself and that it wouldn't actually work or that something would go wrong and I would go blind (yes, really). I really wanted to get this surgery before my 29th birthday, so I had been looking at places for a few months before landing on LasikPlus in Brooklyn. They offered a free consultation, so I decided to go for it. The day of my consult, I had to go through a few exams, and I found out the quote ($3,700). I had REALLY bad eyesight and astigmatism (my vision was 20/250 on my right eye and 20/200 on my left). I couldn't see anything without my glasses except shapes and colors (unless whatever I was looking at was literally pressed against my nose). LasikPlus Brooklyn made me feel really safe and taken care of. They didn't try to sell anything to me - they just explained every single benefit, and I was sold. So, I booked my surgery for the following week. On the actual day of the surgery, I almost backed out bc I somehow started reading reviews of Lasik Plus in OTHER states. They were really bad, and I became super scared until I read the reviews on Yelp SPECIFICALLY for Lasik Plus in BROOKLYN. That's when I decided to go through with it (literally minutes before leaving the house for my surgery), and I'm SO GLAD THAT I DID. The surgery itself was super painful for me. I don't know how it is painLESS for others- I must have a super low tolerance for pain. But it was all super worth it. I would do it all over again just for the results. I had my Lasik surgery in early April this year (nearly 5 months ago) but wanted to wait to write my review, as during the healing time the quality of vision can go up and down (very slightly for me... nothing dramatic). Firstly, I'd deliberated over getting Lasik for about 10 years... initially thinking it wasn't going to work for me: I had crazy high astigmatism (like, off the chart) and was extremely near sighted. I went in for my consultation which was nice and easy. Really informative and professional... no one is pushing you or trying to 'sell' you on anything. They run some tests on your eyes (nothing more invasive than your average eye-doctor visit) to determine if you are a good candidate for Lasik - which I was. They measure the thickness of your retina (among other factors). I took a few days to think it all over (again, no one is pushing you) and decided to go for it. I booked my operation date for a month later. One note for RGP / Rigid contact lens wearers... you have to give your eyes a break for a month (with no lenses) before getting Lasik. This is because the RGP lenses can actually cause your eyes to slightly change shape (or something like that). So I was wearing my wonky, crappy glasses for 4 weeks before the surgery - a small factor to consider, although utterly fine considering you're about to get perfect vision for the rest of your life! :) Surgery day arrives and I was nervous as hell, but everyone at the clinic is super friendly and understanding. Surgery itself was crazy fast. You're in and out in a few minutes, and honestly it's like MAGIC. Literally after getting up from the bed I could SEE! Very dramatic and immediate results. Things to note: The procedure is QUICK - but it's a little uncomfortable. Definitely zero pain, but full-disclosure, it feels weird. There's a bit of pressure and discomfort but honestly it's over very, very quickly. The nurse gave me a stress ball to destroy and they help you by counting down the seconds, which really helps. Your eyes will be super sensitive and watery afterwards! Go home, get in bed... and pop an Advil PM to help you zone out / nap. I didn't really want to look at my phone, laptop or TV (a nice change) much for the following day, as my eyes were super sensitive to the brightness, and you get some glowy auras. Keep wearing the clunky Matrix glasses they give you when you go outside and also in bed for the first few nights (so you don't accidentally rub your eyes). The aftercare stuff is easy - but just make sure you stick to it. Loads of eye drops - keep those eyes flooded out with the drops they give you... and put them in the fridge for extra nice cooling! I actually had a work drinks event the next day after my surgery, and by that time I was fine to get on with normal life - although your eyes will be extremely bloodshot for several days. Anyway, to sum it up - LIFE-CHANGING results. I'm so happy I did this. I read all these excellent reviews and was so nervous, and now here I am writing one myself. I contemplated getting Lasik for YEARS. After watching videos of the procedure on YouTube, I decided not to -out of fear. Fast forward to August of this year & after doing a lot of research, I decided that I've finally had enough with wearing glasses & contacts. I made an appointment for a free consultation on August 12th. At the consultation, I met Vinton, Jessica who was the tech, & Dr. Salonia. They all put my mind at ease. After telling me I was a candidate for Lasik, I made my appointment for the surgery for the upcoming Friday! The day of the surgery, I was very anxious & excited. My surgeon was Dr. Aleksandrovich. He explained each step as they were being performed. The surgery honestly felt like it lasted no more than 10mins. No pain AT ALL. Other people may feel some discomfort from the pressure, but to me, it wasn't bad at all. After the numbing went away, my eyes were stinging a bit, but nothing unbearable. I went for my post-op 3 days later & Dr. Salonia said I have 20/15 vision! Honestly, this is the best thing I've ever done. I couldn't have picked a better place to have the procedure done. I got my LASIK surgery last Friday. I thought about doing the surgery for not even a month. An eye surgery is very serious, I was looking all over google for good reviews from different Lasik centers, the one that stood out was LASIKPLUS BROOKLYN. I schedule a FREE appointment 2 weeks ago, the center is very clean, the staff is very knowledgeable and very nice. They didn't rush the appointment, the doctor answered all my questions and made sure I was a good candidate for this type of surgery by making sure my cornea was thick enough to do the surgery. I never felt rushed to do the surgery. All of their professionalism and the great payment plan they have made me want to do the surgery the following week. Friday, August 9th 2019, I felt reborn. I was nervous the day of the surgery because it's a eye surgery. The surgeon was very professional and patient, he asked me if I had any questions before starting. The surgery itself wasn't painful, it was uncomfortable because of the drops and the thing that spread your eye. But the surgeon made sure to say everything he was doing. After the surgery, the whole day your eyes are very sensitive to the sun, so stay home and rest. Take some pain killer, afterwards it did hurt a little bit. LASIKplus provides you the medications (2 different drops) that you really need to be consistent with if you want the result to be good. The next day my vision was very sharp, IT IS AMAZING. I just had LASIK done less than a week ago and couldn't be happier that I chose LasikPlus in Brooklyn. I visited another LASIK center in Manhattan, which shall not be named, and just found the experience to be too "used car dealership" for my taste. I felt more like a customer than a patient. That was not at all the case at LasikPlus. Everyone was knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. Also, LasikPlus was friendly, over $1,000 cheaper and gave me life-time enhancements. It was a no-brainer. Dr. Fleishman performed the procedure less than a week after my consultation and I walked out of the operating room maybe 10 minutes after I walked in. Not painful in the least. Mildly uncomfortable and super freaking weird, but not painful and I didn't have any pain afterwards. I did take an aspirin the moment they finished, so that may have helped with the pain. Dr. Salonia, who took care of the consultation and follow-ups and is really funny, was fantastic as well. She described the procedure as something akin to an alien probe. You just lay down and look at a red light while Dr. Fleishman does her thing and before you know it you're done. I now have 20/15 vision and am kicking myself for putting up with glasses for so many years. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. One of my friends is already planning her own free consultation for July. Take an hour or two out of your day and get a free consultation. You have nothing to lose and won't regret it. I had an amazing experience here. I actually had a consultation when I was in Minneapolis, because I thought about getting it while I was on vacation. I didn't end up being able to, but I was able to just transfer everything over to the Brooklyn clinic when I got back home. Having so many different locations is so convenient! The doctors, receptionists, and the intake staff were all really kind and supportive. I felt like I was in good hands the whole time and my confidence improved with each check-up. I was able to call when I was recovering any time I had a question and my doctor put me at ease when I was experiencing something I was concerned about. Now I'm going to talk specifically about PRK, which was the procedure I had to go for because of how strong my prescription was. Honestly, I was devastated when I learned I wasn't a good candidate for regular lasik. When the PRK procedure (and more importantly, the recovery) was described, I definitely balked. It was going to take so much longer to heal, and I wasn't sure I was up for that. But, I decided to go for it. And I'm so glad I did! The procedure itself took like...3 minutes per eye. It was incredible. In terms of the days that followed: Gotta be honest. The day after the procedure was AWFUL. I was in so much pain and I was so uncomfortable. I could barely open my eyes and my husband had to put all of the necessary eyedrops in for the first several days after because I couldn't manage it myself. It was absolutely miserable and I hated every single second of it. But! By day 3 I was feeling much better. Still not having an amazing time, but I could more or less function. One disappointing thing about PRK is that your vision improves more slowly. It wasn't like I woke up the next day and my vision was perfect. It was blurry for several weeks, but steadily improved over time. It still continues to improve gradually, but I can function out in the world without any trouble. It's CRUCIAL that you follow the aftercare regimen they provide. I took all of my eyedrops when I was supposed to and I think that really helped speed things along. Fingers crossed that things just keep getting better and better! My final thought about PRK is that it's totally worth it. Yes, the day after will be godawful. Yes, it will take longer to heal. But when you think about how many years you'll be able to enjoy the results, a few months of recovery time isn't that bad. read more
