Not going to lie, getting Lasik is super scary, but honestly, LasikPlus made it as easy and as comfortable as possible. I went to LasikPlus not really sure what to expect, but they really make it a point to show you and teach what's going to happen and what to expect every step of the way which makes it a lot less scary. I even went to a second consultation at another place and as soon as I walked to the other place I already knew i was going to go to LasikPlus to have my procedure done. The staff at LasikPlus is super friendly, knowledgeable and even share their experiences with having the procedure done as well. They encourage you reading others reviews to ease your mind and again know what to expect. Your eyes hurt a little right after, you go to sleep and then wake up a new man/woman. My eyes were dry the first weeks but they give you the vitamins and tear drops to use to help with that. It's now been a month since my surgery and honestly, it's the best money I've ever spent. I did not have a procedure here. This review is based solely on my consultation experience, which was so confusing that I'm still pondering what happened. Through ZocDoc I booked an appointment specifically for a Lasik consultation with Dr. Fleishman as she has wonderful reviews and accepts my insurance. I arrived for my 3:30 appointment today at 3:15. I filled out the required paperwork, paid my co-pay, then preceded to wait. I waited for just about 1 hour, during which time I fell asleep. I am an RN in an extremely busy procedural unit here in Manhattan and have zero issues with waiting. Doctors are people dealing with people. A good doctor will take time with patients and I respect that. Finally I am taken to an exam room and a kind, professional woman does a basic exam: read the lines of letters with one eye covered then another; checks eye pressures. She leaves the room briefly to find out if I should be dilated for further examination by the doctor and comes back to say yes, I need to be dilated. She gives me the drops and leads me back to the waiting area. I'm then greeted by a staff member in a Lasik Plus jacket who takes me to another exam room to check corneal thickness. Professional and informative. She tells me that it looks like I'm a good candidate for Lasik. I'm returned to the waiting area and told a young man is going to talk to me about the procedure. I'm lead to an office where I get, essentially, a sales pitch. I know what Lasik is and obviously I'm interested because I've sought out a consultation. What I'm most interested in is 1) completing my eye exam because my pupils are the size of dinner plates and my vision is distorted, and 2) meeting the physician I had an appointment with and hearing the risks and benefits from the licensed professional who will be performing the procedure. The man tells me that because I'm "Dr. Fleishmans patient" I'll be receiving the surgery at a reduced cost. I point out to him that, actually, I am not her patient as she has never examined me, let alone met me. He tells me that she only does certain procedures for Lasik Plus, and her office is "kind of" a sister office to Lasik Plus. I would actually be seen by another doctor who works for Lasik Plus. Huh? What? But I had an appointment with Dr. Fleishman. This man has zero control over Dr. Fleishmans scheduling so I listen politely. I am given a packet of information and led back to the waiting area. At this point I have been in the office for two hours and still have yet to see a physician. Then Dr. Fleishmans front desk staff kindly tell me that I will not be seeing Dr. Fleishman as she doesn't do Lasik consults for people without co-morbidities. Or something like that. They inform me that they have refunded my co-pay. The Lasik Plus staff tells me their physician will be seeing me. At this point I'm so confused. I sit down and ponder where my appointment with Dr. Fleishman went. I weigh the pros and cons of just leaving and wasting my giant pupil discomfort by not having an exam done. As I'm sitting I hear the staff at the front desk talking quietly about my situation and I see the Lasik Plus doctor take another patient in to the exam room, so a wait is looming. When I am then asked to fill out MORE paperwork, I politely left. I HAD an appointment to see a physician who I chose. She was IN the office. I SAW her. Why my appointment disappeared will forever remain a mystery as I will not be going back. read more

I was super nervous but everyone on staff here is super knowledgable and helpful. Dr. Salonia helped treat my dry eyes to prepare me for surgery and Dr. Fleishman was amazing. The whole surgery took 6 minutes (3 mins per eye). It wasn't painful, just scary and uncomfortable. My eyes burned for 4 hours afterwards but I mostly slept through it. When I woke up from my nap, all pain was gone and my vision was 20/10. This was a life-changing experience for me and I recommend everyone to at least go in for a free consultation here. read more

The staff at LasikPlus are truly incredible. They made me feel incredibly comfortable every step of the way. I was definitely nervous because I am a high myope and my prescription was around -8 in each eye, but they reassured me that it wouldn't be a problem and I ultimately decided to go through with the procedure. I am so happy that I did! I am here for my follow up appointment and I already have 20/15 vision in each one of my eyes, which is amazing. I had very little discomfort immediately after the procedure and it improved within 4 hours of arriving home. Since yesterday, I've been able to do all of my usual activities and today, I took the subway to this location without any issue! The entire experience was overall pleasant and not very painful. Dr Salonia went over the prelim exam and what to expect graciously and was helpful in answering any questions I had to help with any uneasy feelings pre-op. Vinton spent time helping us choose the right payment options and was helpful in providing our insurance discounts. Pricing was straight forward and once we met Doctor Fleishman and seeing so many patient walk out with good experiences we were fully comfortable with the two step operation. Took no longer than 10 minutes for both eyes and we even were able to record our eyes for the duration of the process. After one day healing time we are completely happy with our new more than perfect 20/15 vision! I had my LASIK procedure done a couple days ago at this vision center with Dr. Allen. I was at the vision center for approx 2 hours for the entire visit and the procedure only took about 12 minutes. I didn't feel any pain during the procedure! There was some discomfort after the numbing drops wore off, but once I woke up from my nap it was great, and I could see! The whole team at Lasik Plus was incredible with answering all my questions and making sure I was getting the best price and quality for my LASIK procedure. Had a wonderful experience, despite being very nervous! The staff are lovely and thoroughly prepare you for the process. The Valium didn't work for me so I didn't nap after, but the only symptom was bearable burning for about an hour once the numbing drops wore off. I had my Lasik done here about a month ago and everything was a success! The recovery process was exactly as the doctors had explained and a lot of verbal/written info is provided to make sure you're comfortable and prepared for the process. My eyesight was very poor and they weren't sure if my worse left eye (-7.75) would be fully 20/20, but the day after surgery when I had my checkup appt I was already 20/20 in both eyes! The subtle blurriness cleared up for me after about three weeks and now I'm totally crystal clear. Would definitely recommend coming here for Lasik. The center also offered good discounts through my Eyemed insurance, so the cost was less than I've heard for Lasik from friends who have had it. I had Lasik Surgery at Lasik Plus 3 Days ago and I Highly recommend it. I had a free consultation in December and booked surgery day for the end of January. They checked out every single detail to make sure I would be a good candidate and they repeated some tests during surgery day because you can never be too sure! I was obviously a bit nervous as you never know what to expect (it's not like you get Lasik done every day!) but the staff guided me through every single detail on the procedure and also about what to expect post operation. The procedure it's pain-free, you will just feel a small pressure during the flap creation but I can guarantee you by the time you realize they are already moving to the next eye and then to the final step of the procedure. Overall the surgery lasted a couple of minutes and I walked out with a beautiful pair of black protective glasses (Will Smith in MIB kind of glasses! That's worth already a 5 star). A mild pain kicked in 10 minutes after the surgery but nothing a couple of Advil can't solve. I closed my eyes for about 4 hours and then started enjoying my first hours glasses-free! The day after went back for a check-up and so far I scored a 20/10 vision which, by all means, it's awesome. I was able to set up my free consultation online which was an easy process. On the day of my appointment I arrived 10 minutes early and the office was full . I took that as a good sign . The wait was a little long however they space out exams and watching a video from an iPad so that you don't feel the wait is too long. My favorite part was actually the sales pitch because it didn't actually feel like one. Unlike other places, you get one price up front. There is no extra sale for a lifetime warranty, no extra sale for moisture thingys that cost 400 per eye. Everything is included in the price. No pressure or pushy person telling you that you have to get it done this week to get an additional discount. I was so happy with the quote and care taken that I scheduled my surgery for two days out ! Everything is thoroughly explained in videos as well as during the exams that I did not have any questions to ask. On the day of, I was greeted as usually. Saw the doctor again to make sure I hadn't had any changes in my vision. The procedure was literally over in 10 minutes. There was pressure but no pain and my boyfriend got to record the whole thing (P.S it looks gross LOL) there was some burning and tearing right after but nothing a nap didn't fix. I had my surgery done two weeks ago. First of all they told me I ll be able to get back to work in two days, which was a lie. They also didn't let me know, that the healing process is gonna be different/ take longer for me (I am farsighted) BEFORE THE SURGERY, because I wouldn't do it otherwise. Then they told me to wait for 2 weeks. Okay, I ve been waiting for two weeks, but my vision is still not good enough to get back to work. I feel very uncomfortable, I cannot watch tv, my eyes are still very sensitive to the light, everything is blurred, no improvement. I have to work to make money and pay off my bills including bills for this surgery, but I can't. I am so irritated, I have headaches. I wish I didn't waste so much money and spent my money on something else. Glasses are cool too, this headache doesn't worth it's money. I wish they let me know it's gonna take longer for me to heal, so I could save up more money before the surgery at least. read more

Highly professional staff. On time service. Top notch cleanliness. Initially came in for a consultation. It was the third practitioner on my list. Prior consultations recommended the PRK procedure as did Lasikplus. Conveniently scheduled for surgery two weeks after consultation. Very informative and organized staff. Surgery itself takes about 15 minutes. You leave feeling ok, results can be seen right away. Recovery is the worst part on the process. One day after the surgery is the worse. You will feel a swelling, uncomfortableness, minimal pain. Greatly enough, the days after are way better. Hasn't been a week yet of surgery and I'm already feeling much better. I went for a free consultation last Friday and booked in for my Lasik surgery on the Tuesday. Today, two days later, I have 20/15 vision and I couldn't be happier!! All the staff at lasikplus brooklyn are fantastic, everything is super easy to follow, crazy quick and they just put you at so much ease that you don't even have time to think about being nervous! It's extremely good value and they have great payment plans which makes it affordable for everyone. I got money off for coming as a referral from a friend who had it done and also for booking my surgery so soon after my consultation which was amazing! In fairness, how much is too much for perfect eyesight!? They supply you with sun glasses, all the drops and after care information you will need, as well as a Valium to keep you calm during the surgery itself, which was super quick. I got an uber home on my own afterwards, perfectly fine! It was a little uncomfortable the rest of the day but only to the extent of feeling you have something stuck in your eye or you're extremely exhausted. I napped for four hours once I got home and applying the drops as instructed and closing your eyes if it's too much really help. It is oh so worth it in the end! The only think you'll be asking yourself is why you haven't done it sooner. I honestly almost stopped a lady wearing glasses on the street earlier to ask her had she considered lasik!! This place is awesome! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Prior to the Lasik procedure, I wore contact lenses for 13 years. I was apprehensive to have the procedure but after a friend got it and raved about it, I decided to get a consultation. I had my consultation with the center Director, Vinton. He's amazing! He was really personal, reassuring and patient. He answered all my questions and didn't pressure me into getting the procedure right away. I was nervous to get the procedure! The actual procedure wasn't painful but a bit uncomfortable. Again not painful but pressure will be applied to your eyeballs which is an awkard feeling. Luckily it's a really quick procedure. My eyes were extremely watery post procedure to the point I couldn't really open them on the ride home. When I did attempt to open them, it felt like a burning sensation like when cutting an onion. Once I got home I went to sleep for a couple of hours and when I woke up I could see. It truly felt like a miracle! My eyes were a little sensitive to light that evening and the next day but I had no pain or discomfort. Having Lasik changed my life and I couldn't be happier I finally did it! read more

I got PRK surgery at LasikPlus in Brooklyn about 1 week ago. Although I had done my own research and knew that PRK was what I wanted, I couldn't have imagined a better team to do it with. For those who don't know, PRK is an alternative to Lasik for people with thin corneas, with professions that might have risk of high impact to the head/eyes, and other myriad reasons. I knew given my thin corneas and fight directing career that PRK would be my best bet for a safe and successful experience, but it does have the downside of a longer, usually more uncomfortable, and significantly more complicated recovery period than traditional Lasik. Every step of the way the entire team at LasikPlus was encouraging, informative, professional... quite literally perfect. Some call outs to specific people: Erica helped me navigate the process with patience, ease, and all the info I could possibly need, Vinton was a huge help not only with the monetary implications but also as a willing and encouraging resource since he had gotten PRK himself, and Dr. Salonia had the best bedside manner I think I've ever had with a doctor - so knowledgeable yet also incredibly relaxed and approachable. When it came time for the surgery, Dr. Fleishman was a dream surgeon. Kind, efficient, and obviously incredibly experienced - she held nothing back in terms of potential risks/implications but also made me feel very confident to be in her capable hands. The surgery itself was certainly strange and uncomfortable, but also wildly quick and ultimately painless. Dr. Fleishman and her assistants' easy manner in the operating room was infectious and made me feel incredibly safe. The recovery has been (as expected for PRK) long and kind of obnoxious, but the team has continued to be an incredible resource and I feel like I could reach out with any questions or concerns at any time and be greeted with genuine warmth and accurate information/instructions.
