The technicians were great! The facilities are clean and appear high-tech. I was happy with everything until I met with the "clinical and surgical counsellor". She gave me a quote that was astonishingly high, and when she tried to press me book a date for the surgery, I said I needed to discuss this with my wife. At that point, all friendliness ended and she essentially said "Ok, then. Bye." As if the 2 hours I spent on a "free" consult was a waste of their time. Like I was scamming them or something. It led me to get another (cheaper) quote from Bochner. She should not be working there. read more

I had my consultation and surgery done in the LasikMD North York location. The admin team was very welcoming and accommodating with any scheduling conflict and ensured that I was to attend my appointments. I found the location clean and convenient with free parking for all clients. The surgery itself took a few hours with the required pre-testing. However, the staff ensured that I was comfortable starting from arrival to testing to the end of surgery to follow-up. Dr. Rob Adam was a great conversationalist and ensured that I knew the risks/benefits associated with the surgery. He walked through the whole surgery process during the surgery itself. LasikMD did the job when I needed them. Surgery was a success BUT... When time arrives to do correction after few years they did whatever they can to avoid the "Lifetime corrections guaranteed" as they promised when I paid them. Please avoid LasikMD if you think that at some point in time you'll need to redo your surgery or have it fixed in the future! I assume that when everything goes as planned they are 10/10 but when it's time to stand behind their word and promises and do what they promised to do - that's the time they let you down. BEWARE!!! I had lasik done at the LasikMD location in Mississauga on both eyes over 10 years ago and had wonderful, clear vision with no problems until recently. I went back to LasikMD in North York to see if I can correct my vision to avoid wearing glasses (I saw the same surgeon that did my surgery over 10 years ago). I had my right eye lasered again in November and they told me the goal is to have "mono vision" where my eyes would be able to see clearly and adjust to having just one eye done. I had a terrible reaction. I had "abnormal, aggressive inflammation" after the surgery. I had to go back for regular check ups weekly for months and went through bottles and bottles of eye drops. I had to go on 65mg of oral Prednisone to reduce the inflammation. They suggested I could go back for another surgical procedure to lift the flap and manually remove the white blood cells that were on the flap. I opted for the oral Prednisone instead as I was too fearful to go back for more adjustments to my eye. They suggested I have an autoimmune condition that is causing the abnormal inflammation and swelling. So, I went to a Rheumatologist and they tested me for autoimmune conditions and said I do not have one. It is now March (4 months post surgery) and I still have dry eyes, blurred vision, and swelling in my right eye. I had to pay an extra $300 on top of the surgery and medication costs in order to see clearly with special lenses in my glasses now. I am very upset with this outcome and would caution anyone who is considering doing a second procedure. They said I am a rare case and that my eyes simply cannot adjust to the "mono vision". Perhaps I am. I went to Hertzig last month to get a second opinion and they said they would not have done a second procedure to open my flap again as my cornea is too thin and that my best option would have been to try PRK. I wish I never wasted all this time and money the second time around. After all this....I am back to wearing glasses. Just more expensive ones now. As I am grateful for the years of clear vision after my first surgery...I am completely regretful of trying the "mono vision". read more

I don't recommend it , because after 7 years , I had a problem again and I have to wear a glasses back .also when I tried to contact them they said I have to pay again for check up . When most of the clinics have life time warranty if something happen back.there are not responsible when they done there job . Also , I spoke to Sarah and I ask her to contact me back to escalate my case to different department but i didn't her back from them . I don't recomend this clinic to anyone. read more

I Finally did it!!! As an employee of Lasik MD it encouraged me to proceed with the surgery since I'm getting tired of glasses and contacts as my everyday lifestyle. I did my consultation at the North York clinic where everyone was very thorough and detailed. They answered any questions and concerns I had which made me decide to do the Lasik Surgery. I did my surgery in the Downtown clinic and all the employees there are so friendly and reassured me that the procedure would be painless and nothing to be nervous about. The first time I meet my surgeon Dr Wallerstein he had a big smile from start to finish. He explained the procedure in detailed on what's going to happen next in a very calm voice which eased my nervousness and before you know it they were done! It's true that it's quick and painless and that I had nothing to worry about. I don't regret it one bit. read more

LASIK MD is one of many centres for laser eye surgery in the GTA and I shopped around for awhile before deciding to go under the knife. Eventually I ended up getting my laser eye surgery at this location about three years ago and I've been very happy ever since. (And yes, when it comes to your eyes you want to wait a few years before rushing to review the work/service.) Highlights: 1. This is the cheapest place to get your laser eye surgery, without compromising quality. And what I like about this place was that this was the only location in GTA that mentioned the possibility of correcting only one eye (the dominant eye) and therefore cutting cost by half, while enjoying a 20/18 vision! 2. The staff are friendly and attentive. 3. The service is pretty quick. You know how you always have a doctor appointment at X:15, but you're not usually seen until at least X:45? That hasn't happened to me in the past 3 years. Worst is a 10 min delay, which is acceptable considering the volume of patients. 4. Experienced surgeons. This place is always fully booked, which means most of the surgeons have done hundreds of surgeries. 5. It's clear that they have tried to make the experience enjoyable. There are comfortable seatings, a brew your own Tassimo and cookies at all times. Bottom line, if you're looking into doing an eye surgery, check this place out. read more

My husband will be having his surgery at the end of February. So far, the consultation went pretty well. They conducted all the tests and told him that he has a 10-15% chance of regression. The cost is around $4000 total. We are going to get the lifetime warranty which costs $150 per eye. This will cover any touch ups he may have done in the future. The only reason why I am giving a 4 star thus far is because I feel like the whole consult had a sales pitch feel about it. They make you do the tests with a doctor and then you are moved into a room with the salesperson. The whole thing felt very scripted and little like a used car salesman. They tell you that you are a perfect candidate and that you should consider the "advanced procedure". The reasons why the advanced are better are because he has larger pupils, loss of night vision, etc... so why would they even offer the "standard procedure" at all? It's all part of the sales pitch if you ask us. Looking past the sales aspect, they still seem like a good choice. Trying not to let the free wifi, tassimo coffee station and coffee woo us. read more

I booked a consultation at the Vaughan location because it was closest to where I live. The staff there seemed knowledgeable, and the office felt much cozier than the typical doctor's office. There's free Wi-Fi, coffee, tea, cookies and a TV promoting LASIK MD in the waiting area. I was impressed with how clean the washrooms are kept. The testing was painless, your eyes are anesthetized so there is no discomfort. The clinician warned that most people do have to get their pupils dilated with eye drops, so it would be advisable to have someone drive you home afterwards. The whole consultation lasted about 2 hours and my eyes were back to normal a few hours after the dilating drops. My right eye had mild myopia and astigmatism, but my left eye had a very strong astigmatism prescription, so I only qualified for the advanced custom wavefront procedure. After being told I was a candidate, I booked the surgery for the North York location because of my schedule. Although the actual time in the operating suite was about 10 minutes, I had to spend 5 hours there. Most of the time was spent waiting for the next clinician to perform tests. I'm not sure if the wait is medically necessary or just because they were busy because there were quite a few people ahead of me, but I wasn't a fan of the wait. Some of the testing is just repeats of the tests from the initial consultation to make sure that everything is still fine. There are some different tests, such as taking pictures of the cornea multiple times, but everything was painless as before. My surgeon was Dr. John Lloyd. I was provided with his biography which included his education and work experience. I felt confident in Dr. Lloyd's competency and that I was in good hands. He talked me through every step of the procedure as it was happening so I was less anxious. I have to say the burning smell while the laser was working was something I won't forget. It didn't bother me, although some people might find it disturbing. After leaving the OR, I was able to see immediately, although it was quite hazy. There were some complications, such as the bruising and dry eyes, but that's a common and temporary side effect. At the one week followup, my right eye is 20/20 but my left eye is 20/40. I was very worried I'd have dry eyes but fortunately, I barely have to use the lubricating eye drops. I was advised to wait for it to fully heal and see if the vision improves, otherwise I can go in for an enhancement procedure a few months down the line. Overall, very satisfied with the outcome of the procedure, and if my left eye can be enhanced to 20/20 then it would be amazing. Of course, not everyone's outcome will be the same but for me it was life changing and I would not hesitate to recommend anyone I know to go in for a consultation. read more

I had lens replacement surgery with multi focal implants done today with Dr Micheal Myles and couldn't wait another minute to tell you how AMAZING the whole experience was. First of all. everyone from the receptionist to the surgeon was impressive. Professional, knowledgable, and at the same time patient and caring. Special shout out to Dr. Beach, a very bright star in the Lasikmd constellation. Ok, having said that, I didn't go there to make friends, I went there to get my eyes fixed cause I hated wearing glasses. Well, I had lens replacement surgery a little over twelve hours ago, my glasses are in the garbage and I am writing this on my ipad quite comfortably (Geez, I can even read where it says ipad in tiny letters in the upper left corner of the screen next to the wifi signal strength) Quick And Painless. Unbelievable results. Absolutely worth the money. I had my free consultation done downtown Toronto. and my surgery at the Mississauga clinic and found the same degree of professionalism and care at both locations. Both my cousin and my aunt had their laser eye surgeries done here, at Lasik MD and recommended me to come to this particular location. I called to make an appointment and the lady I spoke to on the phone was very clear on providing me instructions for my consultation. She also let me know that the consultation is free of charge. The clinic is somewhat hard to find but because my aunt was able to give us clear instructions, we knew exactly where to park and where the clinic was located. Lasik MD also gives you a validation ticket for parking so your parking is free. I walked in and told them I had a consultation, and I was asked to fill out some forms and to help myself with some coffee, tea and cookies. I was then walked into a room where the lady checked my eyes and my prescription. While waiting for my next consultation, I was able to look at all the doctors who perform laser surgery at that particular clinic. There is a full profile of where they studied, how many surgeries they have performed, etc. From there, I was led to another employer who explained to me the process of the surgery and which laser eye surgery I qualified for and depending on which day I would like the surgery, they would choose the doctor for me. After that, we were introduced to another lady who provided us a quote on how much the surgery would cost and which plan would be best for me. I made an appointment for surgery on the same day and was told I can decide which plan I'd like on the day of my surgery. A couple weeks later, I received a call from the receptionist telling me that the doctor that I originally had scheduled for is not available for that day and I had to reschedule for the following week. That was kind of annoying, as I had to take particular days off work to recover and have someone drive me around the following days. Lucky enough, I was able to correspond my schedule and rides with my surgery date. None the less, the day of my surgery was smooth sailing. I arrived and checked in with the receptionist and filled out some more forms. I was then taken into another room to check my vision once again before surgery and after that I had to pay for my surgery. From there, one of the assistants explained the post operative instructions on eye drops and specific instructions on when to use them. After that I was able to meet my doctor (Dr. Sanghera) and he provided me with a muscle relaxer and explained the surgery process thoroughly to me. I waited for another 15-20 minutes and then was called in for surgery. The surgery itself was only a 10 minute process. After the surgery, I was lead out of the room and seated on the couch to get my eyes checked once more. I waited for an assistant to put some gauze over my eyes and put my sunglasses on for me. I waited approximately 45 minutes and got my eyes checked again before I left. After that, I was walked out and driven home, to recover. The clinic also called me later that afternoon to make sure I was doing well and I had a follow up appointment the following day, in which the lady said my eyes look great after surgery. The staff here are all highly professional, friendly and attentive to the client's needs. I had my first Lasik surgery in May 2011 and have been dealing with complications since. I know this is probably a one-off situation, but after my first surgery, my eyes still did not become 20-20 so I had a re-touch done August 2011. My vision seemed to be finally better, but was suffering chronic dry eyes. The doctors discovered that the recommended eye drops from the first surgery had preservatives and that my eyes were not healing properly because of them. So after the second surgery, I was told to change to other drops (BionTears, Acuvisc) which I did notice that it was relieving the dry eye substantially better. Well, in the last couple years, my eyes have regressed again and I no longer have 20-20 vision. The dryness in the eyes have cleared up, but now I am schedule for my third surgery in January 2016. My biggest fear is that I will develop chronic dry eye once again and it may become irreversible. I use eye drops already on a daily basis and I don't even know if this surgery will work. I purchased the lifetime warranty and have been following up every year as requested, and at this point I feel like doing this 3rd surgery will end up being pointless. I've spent over $4k already for this surgery and hundreds of dollars on expensive eye drops and I am still not getting the satisfaction. read more

Sadly I have to select a star or I could not post this. BEWARE to ask if you will need reading glasses after the surgery even if you have never needed them. I had my consultation and was told I was an ideal candidate and was eligible for the least expensive surgery. I was booked for one week later. Four hour process from the time you arrive until you can leave but you meet with several people for different tests, payment and the guy that tries to upsell you so it is well spaced out. When I met with the guy that tries to upsell you he mentioned in passing I should go to the dollar store for a pair of readers after the surgery. Clearly I should have been on alert when I heard that and inquired further but I did not. I thought he meant I may need them while my eyes recover. It has been two weeks since the surgery and not only can I not read or see my computer at work but also cannot see my face in the mirror to put on make up. I expressed my concerns when I went for my follow up. Suzette who I met with at the Centre insisted that people over 40 usually need reading glasses after the surgery? Seriously I was able to read before my surgery and now I cannot even make out my own reflection. I insisted with an appt with the surgeon and it is set for 3 weeks from now. By far the worst mistake I have ever made. I also found it odd when I apologized to Suzette and expressed it was not her I was upset with she commented don't worry it happens all the time I am used to it. read more
