I drive a luxury vehicle so I was a bit concerned parking across the street at CVS but ok whatever the lash tech arrived 20 minutes late to my appointment no apology she had on the most horrendous long nails. Omg like really long & unsanitary for you to work near someone's eyes. I didn't see one person in the tiny room that they apply your lashes with a mask on. They do not sanitize in between clients. It's sooo tacky & unprofessional to hear their private conversations they are so loud even with my AirPods on. I have almond shaped eyes, and she listened to me as I did not want the lashes too heavy on the outer corners of my eye. I am 7 months pregnant, and it was very tough trying to lay down flat for over an hour, however, Jasmine saw I was in pain, so she would kindly stop and help me reposition. A picture is worth a thousand words...The first pic is from Lashes on Fleek. This happened two days after an overpriced eye lash extension session for "volume lashes". I was charged $250, tipped her $50. I don't know what the point of booking online for $150 volume lash package was about. It does cost $15 to remove one's eye lash extensions elsewhere. Numbers just didn't add up. I felt taken advantage of and was blamed for having baby eye lashes that caused the volume lashes to "droop" or something like this. After two days, I had to remove them because both eyes looked different... I even had to use mascara to even it out. My natural lashes were pulled out when removing these volume eye lash extensions by another eye lash extension salon expert. It took an hour. The lash expert said that the gal had glued each volume extension to the skin, not the natural eye lashes. She also said it was the wrong type of eye lash extensions when she made her assessment. She recommended the correct one to use in the future. I'll give my natural eye lashes a break for now. On a positive note, the gals at Lashes in Fleek love their jobs, their work, cute and clean facility. PS I also received a horrible text message from an unknown number to my mobile device this morning on January 28, 2020. This is 100% harassment and just not right or professional. I've been wearing lashes for two years now and as I progressed from classic to volume I was never satisfied with my lashes until I found Lashes on Fleek. I had been keeping up with the business' Instagram page and was extremely impressed with the work displayed and how consistent the work was from all of the lash techs. My first appointment here was in January with Nia before I headed back to school out of state. Before my appointment I was a little concerned with the location being that home was in OC, however I was still extremely excited for my appointment and went through with the service. When I arrived I was greeted by Nia's assistant who was very nice and immediately made me feel welcomed. During my service Nia made me extremely comfortable and she made sure she gave me what I wanted. When I got up, I was amazed. My lashes were beautiful, full, and they lasted for a month! It had been exactly what I was looking for. It is now October and I have not cheated on my lash tech since. Nia makes you feel extremely comfortable during your service and she also educates you on what your lashes can and can not hold. Nia even advised me to take a lash break and I did just that. I will be returning this week for my full set and I have no problem paying $250 for my full set. It is well worth it. I'm a lash technician myself and I am extremely picky about my lashes and lash supplies. LOF is the only brand I use from glue to tweezers to lash glue. This company has never given me an issue and the ONE time I felt my lashes were not as full as they usually are I was accommodated with no hassle. The energy is always great and so is the service. I called in need in desperate measures for one of the lash training doll heads for my state board esthetician exam since something had happened to mine. Ok, I'm an eyelash extensions virgin but thought it'll be nice to get some for my upcoming trip. I was in the Burbank area for work and had some free time so I decided to Yelp salons that specializes in lash extensions. Jasmine hoped it wouldn't be a problem that the shop was being deep cleaned while I was there. (Who in their right mind would be bothered by the smell of freshness and polished furniture). I couldn't imagine that the shop was even dirty, to begin with. The place was spotless and SUPER CHIC. Jasmine was really sweet and patient with me as I informed her that I was a "lash virgin." She answered all my question and made me comfortable enough to go along with the service. Once she began, I completely forgot that it was my first time or that I had never met her before. We talked like we were old friends. Really sweet young lady and very good at what she does! It wasn't painful as expected (experienced a little burning) but overall, I'm very pleased with my lashes. Whether it's as a teacher or lash tech, the number one thing that defines Nia's work is that she is a perfectionist, her number one priority is quality--period. The class is wonderful because she legitimately gives you all the information she knows, she doesn't hold anything back. Be warned though, lash extension application is a meticulous and challenging service. Nia can give you her best but it is up to you to practice in order to master the techniques she teaches. In the class you learn both theory and technique. It is vital to understand the why's and not just the how's of lashing which she offers and many courses don't. Lastly, she offers ongoing mentorship for students. Nia is a BUSY person, but you can always text her with questions and she will take the time to answer and give corrections. I literally just stepped out of their salon so I can't speak for the quality and retention of her work. But wow wow wow this was one of the most horrendous experiences getting a beauty service I've ever gone through. Firstly, the woman doing my lashes never introduced herself so I don't know her name but she's the black girl with long hair. As soon as I laid down her and who I think is jerika started talking shit about their assistant. Something about her getting the wrong starburst candy which isn't serious at all.. but if candy is that serious that you ladies are pressed to talk about it in front of two clients then you need a lesson on customer service. My lash line started to feel slight stinging and when I brought it up to her she said "well don't open your eye so it's not exposed to the fumes".. my eyes were not open and I'm confident the glue was just too close to my eyelid. This is not my first rodeo with eyelash extensions. She had AirPods in her ears and was listening to what I THOUGHT was a podcast(no big deal) ... fast forward a few mins and I can hear lasers and gunshot and all sorts of chaos from her headphones which solidified that this b*tch is watching some sort of show or movie on her iPhone. (IM SHOCKED AT THIS.. it's laughable) AND OMG the iPhone. She placed it right at the top of my head and it was vibrating with text messages non stop. For two hours, every couple mins she got a text and I was the first to know about it. So ya, I'm gonna follow up in a week and see how these lashes are doing but as far as the experience getting them it was a nightmare and I'll never be going back. The women that work here are catty and it's just an ugly vibe to be around. So it's been a while since I was here. My lashes are short and choppy, not the same as before I stepped foot in this place. Also don't let nia's response to my reviews paint her as a professional in the beauty industry. She had texted me soon after I posted my review saying "this is the bitch that did your lashes..." and trying to say my reviews was uncalled for. I asked her to never contact me again. On Saturday 5/22 I called about 5 different lash places to ask if they had available space to take my lash extensions off. At 11:50 I found this place on Yelp, so I called. The woman who answered the phone told me that I could just come right over and I was so relieved. When I got there I had to wait quite a while. I wasn't really surprised though because I'm sure the person who I spoke to on the phone wasn't expecting me to be literally 5 mins away. There were about two other women working on clients when I got there. I sat in their little waiting room which had a lot of personality. I have a bad back and I thought the chairs were comfy as well. I did not catch the name of the girl who removed my eyelashes but she was really nice and personable. I believe it took about an hour for me to get my lashes removed but like I said, I made the appointment literally 10 mins before I walked in, and she probably wasn't expecting me to come so quickly. Totally not her fault. I had to fill out a little form about allergies and stuff like that which is pretty awesome that they show they want to be careful with you.
