I came here and got the "wet set" lashes from Rose. The location is very easy to find, as it's located in a strip mall on Central Ave, with a large parking lot. There were plenty of spots available as well as ample street parking. The location is upstairs on the second floor. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and since I was early, I took a seat on one of their plushy chairs in the waiting area. I then was brought into a room, where I could put my items in a box below and laid on the comfortable bed. Rose did a great job of explaining to me what the wet set was and I was excited to see it on my lashes. I fell into a zen for two and a half hours and it was so peaceful. Time went by very quickly and before I knew it, I was shown my gorgeous new set of lashes. Rose did such a great job of ensuring it looked great with my eye shape. I always worry that the lashes will overtake my eye, and she made sure they didn't! My eyes have really been popping! I was also glad that the glue didn't irritate my eyes, as it's been an issue at some places I've been to in the past. Rose also did an excellent job of explaining the aftercare and showing me how to brush them properly. She was so sweet and accommodating. She even gave me 3 spoolie brushes to take with me! I had the opportunity to model for Rose for natural lash extensions, and she was so friendly and did such a gentle job that I fell asleep for the first time during application. The salon is in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The work is exceptional, the space is very clean, and everyone is so kind. Rose was training, but her work is that of a much more experienced professional, and my lashes look phenomenal. You could feel the care she put into each lash, she also alternated from eye to eye so you didn't get fatigued from her doing one and then the other straight through. She was great with naturally navigating when I wanted to chat or just stay silent, and as someone who normally gets anxious with beauty treatments, she was so reassuring and gentle. There is another lash salon 5 minutes from me (I live in Sherman Oaks), and Rose was so good she is 100% my lash go-to from now on. I had my lashes done at a different salon just one week earlier, but they were already falling out and needed a touch-up. It was almost 7:00 PM on a Saturday, and I knew I was walking in without an appointment. The moment I walked into Bright Star Lashes, I was warmly greeted by Linda (owner). Even though she and her staff were busy with other clients, she took the time to listen to my situation. She explained that everyone was occupied, but her trainee, Rose, could help me under her guidance. She reassured me that Rose would do a great job and that she would personally check in throughout the appointment. To my surprise, Linda also offered me a $10 discount because Rose was still in training. I thought that was incredibly thoughtful and honest, especially since I had walked in without an appointment and they were already doing me a favor by staying late. I am so grateful that Linda and Rose stayed well past their closing time to help me. Their salon closes at 8:00 PM, but they didn't finish until after 9:00 PM. At no point did I feel rushed. Linda repeatedly checked Rose's work, and in the end, she personally finished my lashes to make sure everything looked perfect. They truly took their time and cared about the quality of their work. What impressed me the most wasn't just my beautiful lashes ...it was the kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion Linda showed me. She could have easily asked me to come back another day, especially since I arrived late without an appointment, but instead she went above and beyond to help because I had an important event to attend. The salon is spotless, beautifully organized, and smells amazing. Even the restroom was exceptionally clean. I was there for over two hours, yet I felt comfortable and welcomed the entire time. The lash artists are the sweetest and I never had a bad experience with anyone. However, I will say, you get what you pay for. I was a long-time, regular customer, and this is the place that made me stop all lash work. The lash artists are not experienced enough yo know how to sustain healthy lashes. By the time I stopped going here, I had lost most of my lashes, often due to too much glue or not separating lashes adequately. If you care about the longterm health of your lashes, I would recommend somewhere with more experienced lash artists. I thought after a week, it would start falling off. It took more than a month to completely fall off. The place was super clean. You would need to take off your shoes to enter the salon. I recently had my lashes done by Alice. The studio is clean and I appreciate that the staff isn't pushy about upselling, but I did have a few concerns. During the appointment, she was a bit rough around my eyes and often rested the weight of her hands on or near them, which became uncomfortable...especially over a 2+ hour session. I also mentioned that I didn't want to go past a length 13, but the outer corners were done with 14. Even when she held the lashes out to show me I repeated that I don't like the way 14 looks on me. I've been getting my lashes done for years, so I can tell the difference. I may come back in the future, but I would have to try a different technician next time. read more
