From the nondescript store front, it doesn't look like much. But if you are like me. I was grateful for a convenient appointment time and a price at a good value. I was pleasantly surprised that I was the first and only customer! This made me feel like it was a VIP experience, not a slab cadaver on a sea of massage tables like some places. It was quiet, with nice low ambient music playing. The gentle hum of Colorado Blvd simulated the sound of the ocean waves. In under an hour I had a fresh full set of natural looking lashes (individual lashes, not in clumps of 2 or 3 which leave bald spots when they eventually fall off) I went no longer than a 9 in length. Again I went for a natural look. Overall a wonderful experience. Just text when you arrive. It's easy to miss the storefront in the mini-mall. read more

Despite my concern it couldn't have gone better and entire process was satisfying. Yoko took such great care in the process of mapping out my eyebrows, and ensuring that I got the exact look that I wanted. She also adjusted my eyebrows with perfect color and shape from the previous one that I did not really like. Yoko is absolutely amazing! I have been knowing and using Yoko for almost 8 years now. I only trust her with my hair, to do my makeup and eyelash extensions. Yoko not only routinely cuts my hair but she also did my hair and makeup for my engagement photos as well as my wedding and the Chinese tea ceremony that was the same day as my wedding. My makeup for that day, tea ceremony & wedding, lasted me the ENTIRE day and that's saying ALOT b/c I sweat easily and was outside all day in the humidity in Hawaii. I can not thank Yoko enough for how beautiful she made me look and feel on one of the most important days of my life. I knew I was in good hands with having Yoko there. Yoko doing that made it one less thing for me not have to stress about. I used a Groupon for my first visit to Studio Beauty Beauty Lash, when I got home I realized that my right eye was not as full as my left. I called the technician immediately , she said this was normal! I said I was disappointed and asked her if I could come back in to fix it and she said that she had already Gave me additional lashes and that I paid for the Classic set of 120 lashes then proceeded to tell me she added more lashes at the time of services , she said if I came back in she would ad 2 to 3 lashes as a courtesy , She said she would charge $1 per lash which seems alittle excessive in price. I was willing to add another $20 just to make my eyelashes look nicer (which between the cost of the Groupon and adding $20 is almost the amount of a regular price Eyelash Extension Service. ) I was willing to compromise for $20.00 20 lashes! I feel this business was about making a profit over pleasing the customer . I was very diaappointed! read more

The first time I got my lashes done, it was just for fun and because some of my other friends had done it. I found Yoko online - the studio was near my house and the cheapest around with good reviews, so I decided to try it out. I was totally in love and while I don't want extensions all the time (I still want to be able to love my face without them!) I vowed that I'd do it again for special occasions or travel. My best friend is getting married this weekend, so it was the perfect excuse! All the bridesmaids got ours done and we treated the bride - and everyone came to Yoko (some drove from the west side!) since I had such a great experience the first time around. We all look killer and we are stoked that we can cry our way though the ceremony without smudging mascara all over our faces. On a more serious note, I have a lot of inflammation issues and have had trouble with styes, clogged tear ducts and swelling along my lash line for years. I made the switch to clean makeup (Tarte mascara FTW) and it made a huge difference, but I still get irritated by eye makeup across the board. The lash extensions changed everything. I haven't had any irritation (either time) and the break from makeup actually gave my lash line time to recover and grow back some of the eyelashes that had to be plucked (yeah, it was that bad). Thank God for Groupon! I paid $63 for a $180 service and I definitely got my money's worth. Trash! This was my first time at the salon. I have been desperately trying to find a spot closer to home. The girl was okay communication via phone and text but upon arrival that quickly changed. The salon is full of kids toys and a bunch of her personal stuff laying around in plain sight. Looks like she lives at the salon. Anyways the floor was very noticeably filthy which made me uncomfortable. I brought a friend that has never gotten her eyelashes done and she had questions that the girl seemed annoyed to answer. She was extremely rude to the both of us. I couldn't wait to get out of her face! The material she uses for the lashes is super cheap. She was done with me in 35-40 minutes and I knew exactly what to expect when she handed me the mirror which she later snatched out of my hand when I told her to fix the work. Honestly, I thought that the lashes looked beautiful. But the day after getting them done, I noticed that I was feeling a lot of discomfort and being poked by them. After 4 days of this happening, I decided to go to a different lash tech to see if anything could be done, and was told that the lashes were very cheap material and were not applied properly. There were clumps of lashes on one single lash, causing the roots to clump together, which in return weighed down my natural lash, which was why they were poking me. Not only that, but I was told that if I had waited a few more days, I would have been at risk for infection. The worst part is that I have to wait a few weeks now before getting them redone anywhere else. It's a shame because the woman was so so kind and communicative. :( read more

I went to visit Yoko a month ago to get my eyelashes done. I've been to a few other places and I can say that she's is up at the top. The glue was very easy on my eyes and I didn't have a weeping reaction I've had happen at so many other places. She even allowed me to have a small break in the middle to stretch. Oooooohhhhhh my lashes look fantastic!!! Yoko is the bomb! She gave a really great deal, her studio is charming, super cute and easy to find. I felt very comfortable as she helped me feel relaxed. I'm the friend that Gladis brought. I have to admit. My lashes came out amazing. However, her attitude towards us was very unfriendly from the beginning. It was obvious she didn't like us. My intention was to possibly become a permanent client of hers and that's why I was asking questions that she seemed very annoyed to answer. I was not offered any information although I made it clear I knew nothing about her services. Gladis didn't break her table, the owner put up the bottom part of the table and asked her to get on, when she sat on the table the bottom part gave way..... she almost fell off. I was almost going to sit in the same spot too because her table has arm rests that don't allow you to sit in the middle. I feel like we got service with a bad attitude because my friend came with Groupon. It's too bad because she is so much closer to me and I would have become her permanent client if she wouldn't have made it so obvious she didn't like us. my favorite place to get haircut and color done. i used to have really dark hair but now i have nice blonde/brown gradation hair because Yoko has been taking care of my hair. Also she is super down for my requests. First of all I would like to say the groupon deal is not a deal at all. Supposedly it is a $160 value and you get it for $79. When I contacted the place they told me it was $79 ... without me mentioning the groupon. I decided to go and try it out since I had read good reviews. So "Beauty lash studio" is inside the "Nail Design, Vartani nail design" , so it was a bit confusing to find this person. When I got there she seemed like she just wanted to start and get it over with. We didn't spend time going over length or style... which I though was unprofessional. Also when I made my appointment she right away asked how I heard about her, and I felt I was treated differently because of groupon. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought ok, well if the lashes look amazing I won't care about the whole customer service or her way of approaching me. The lashes started falling off right away. I didn't use mascara or eye make up, and I didn't let the water in the shower hit me. I've had these done before somewhere else and they had lasted me a month without a problem. I am very disappointed at having paid $79 for lashes I felt I could've done myself . I've had my lashes done in chino at a tattoo shop(there is a woman there who does them well) and I thought I was saving some money by coming here, also it was closer to home but that was a big mistake. Totally felt ripped off. If you're going to use groupon, use it somewhere else, and read the reviews first.
