I went to Karine after reading reviews on yelp, and it seemed she'd be good. She was very nice, and everything was painless. My eyelashes looked nice, (uneven, one side had more than the other) but looked ok. But unfortunately, they started falling out fast and they were glued with thicker glue than I've had before... This was my 3rd time getting eyelash extensions and before whenever an eyelash would fall out, it would be one eyelash extension with one of my eyelashes attached. This time most of them fell out 2-3 extensions glued together with one of my eyelashes. Was very disappointed, I would not return for a fill. One star off for uneven application One star off for easily falling off eyelashes

I found Karinne through Groupon. I had previously gotten extensions done somewhere else and was coming for a fill. I emailed Shawn and asked if coming for a fill from another salon was okay, and I was told yes. Shawn was really friendly and accommodating with scheduling me in at her Lake Forest location. When I arrived Karinne was finishing up another customer so I waited a little but did not mind at all. Once she got started on my lashes she told me the difference between the cheapy lashes I had on and the ones she used. I was really grateful to understand the difference. BUT. I'm surprised by all these positive reviews above her kindness and niceness. She was a little condescending with me. I'm not a sensitive person, I went to law schooli and had to deal with grade A douches all the time. I'm not sure if she's use to a certain type of clientele since she works in Dana Point, or was expecting me to be a certain way. But she made remarks like "some people are particular about where they get their eyelashes done, you CLEARLY are not (laughs)" When is a comment like that ever appropriate to make to a first time customer, who's already paid for a service and bringing you new business? I tried to let that go, and told her I was new to eyelash extensions and that now I know better. And she replied with "well you could have checked google, yelp...looked at pictures..." Again, I told her that I thought I had done my research and the other salon looked fine but how would I know?! Geez.... Trying to move on, i told her I was in the middle of moving from one side of Irvine to the other and she was like "I don't know how people justify paying so much rent in Irvine - and it's not even a beachfront property. I live in Dana Point..." Uhhh okay... There were a couple other minor remarks that were no bigs but just didn't sit well. The fact of the matter is that, I didn't feel comfortable. So while I deeply appreciated her teaching me the difference between eyelash application, and will likely not return to the other salon where I first went - I don't think I will return to her either. My appointment was 8:30am, I waited maybe 15 mins before being seen and Shawn called her asking if she can be at her Dana Point location by 10:30. She said she wasn't sure because traffic and how long I would take. I was in my car by 9:30 (less than an hour), calling my boyfriend (yes, I checked) to discuss my interesting experience! It's been two days. And my new (admittedly) nicer eyelashes are falling off without me doing anything! And I've noticed that the eyelashes are falling off 3 at a time (as if 3 were glued together on one lash) and when I've inspected the 3 fallen lashes they aren't attached to one of my natural lashes so it's not because "they're naturally falling off" So, this experience left much to be desired. While I think they look great and admittedly MUCH better than the first salon I went to, these are falling off in a rapid pace and I anticipate them lasting a week, or week and a half. Im pretty loyal, and once I find a place I like, it's the only place I go. So yes maybe I found her through Groupon but how else can you explore what you like and don't? I was hoping to find my regular eyelash extension person but I guess my journey continues!

What can I say? I love this place and I love Karine!! This was the first time I have ever gotten eyelash extensions so I didn't know what to expect. Karine was great because she explained everything to me and the whole process was simple, quick and comfortable. When she was done I looked in the mirror and my eyes looked amazing!! The cool thing was after that I didn't have to spend time applying any kind of eye makeup including mascara eyeshadow or eyeliner because my eyes when I woke up looked perfect! And they looked so natural that all anyone said was....wow, you look great today or wow, you look beautiful...So, bottom line is that I highly recommend Lash Up in Dana Point!

I feel so pretty after getting my lashes done by Karine. I've been to several eyelash extension places, but she is a total pro. She is friendly and intelligent and has several years of experience. Parking is easy, the building smells good, and Sean is quick and flexible with booking. Karine makes my eyes look awake and cat-like, my favorite.

I like my lashes and service except the fact that my left lashes didn't look like my right eye lashes. There was less curvature compared to the right and some are even under my original lashes making them not be in line with all others(pointing in picture). It annoys me everyday. There was a client that came in in the middle of my appointment saying she had an appt so I believe that my left eye lashes were rushed and that's why they didn't end up the same as my right eye. Almost loved this place, almost! Might give a second try. Overall, mink are great quality and very kind service!.

I love my Lashes done by Karine.She did such an amazing job. I asked for volume lashes which is 3 to 5 fine lashes attached to each of my own lashes and it looks absolutely stunning. It does not feel heavy at all. If you have sensitive eyes make sure you get the classic lashes since the volume might be uncomfortable for some people. I am absolutely happy with mine. Karine is amazing! Putting lashes on is an art and she creates masterpieces! I receive so many compliments daily about what beautiful lashes I have. You can't tell they're extensions. I found Lash Up through Groupon. I went to another eyelash extension place prior and wasn't very impressed, so I thought I would try a new place. A refill on Groupon was only $26 plus $15 for the mink eyelashes. Karine was so nice and gentle, and she did such a good job! Her husband Shawn books her appointments and scheduling, and he is equally as nice! My experience at Lash Up in Dana Point was a 10/10. read more

I found this place through Groupon and I got the full set. I first booked an appointment online but I called a couple days earlier to see if I could find an opening. Her husband schedules her appointments and he helped find an opening right away which ended up being that same day!!! He said there was only an opening for a half set which I was ok with but when I got there, Karine greeted me and had such a warm smile and made me feel comfortable. She talked to me about what kind of look I was interested in and I wasn't sure so I asked her opinion and told her I wanted glam. Although there was only enough time for a half set, she ended up being able to give me a full set in the time allotted which was amazing!!! She was pretty quick and made me feel comfortable the whole time and we talked as if we were old friends. At the end of it, she wanted to make sure I was happy with my results and was willing to make any changes I wanted. A couple lashes fell off the next day but overall I love my lashes and have gotten so many compliments on them! Thank you so much Karine! read more

I called on Sunday for a same day appointment and Karine was kind enough to stay open a little later to accommodate my request since I was flying out the following day. Her space is located in the shopping area just above McDonalds. Karine was very warm and welcoming. She was running a special for new clients for a full set of lashes for $69 dollars. Since I wear minimal makeup when I'm not working, I didn't want anything too full so Karine recommended a mink set which were $35 more, but a great choice for me as they are full but not too heavy without makeup. She explained everything to me prior to starting and checked frequently if I was comfortable and tolerating the procedure well. She took her time and made sure the eyelashes looked natural and full. I absolutely love my new lashes! She went over the care and maintenance with me to make sure to I understood everything. Overall, I had a phenomenal experience and am very happy with Karine and my new lashes! read more

I am from Arizona and I sing for cover bands and was weary of finding someone to do my lashes out here as I had previously worked with a very professional lash expert. KARINE IS THE BEST. My eyelashes look AMAZING. I got the mink ones because that's what I like and they look so real everyone noticed. It's so convenient not to have to do mascara in the morning. I will not hesitate to go back for fills from her. She not only made me feel instantly comfortable, but she also asked all the right questions. She asked how I wear my makeup, what length and style I had previously with the last lash expert, etc. She even made sure they weren't too long for my glasses at work! She is super sweet, easy to talk to, and made sure that I was happy with everything before I left, and even waited around to make sure the glue was dried enough, because she knew I was making a long drive home haha. She is the best, seriously, don't hesitate to meet with her. The ambience of the room was so serene and you are off by yourself so you're not uncomfortable especially if you have any anxiety - it really is nice to feel safe - especially having to keep your eyes closed for that long. Karine is fantastic! I am a former cancer patient and as a result have very thin and short lashes. At a few previous salons, the technicians did not listen to me and put on lashes that were too long and too heavy for me. Karine took the time to go over my best options. What a difference!. They look gorgeous. Her work is impeccable and She is very busy. I have made a standing appointment so that I know that they will always look their best. I'm new to the area and was doing my research on lash salons, prices and reviews. It's scary not really knowing if the person putting on the lashes is experienced and trained the proper way. When I met Karin, I knew she was a true professional and cared about the health of her clients lashes, not just making money off of people and ruining their lashes. I love how she does my lashes and see her every 2-3 weeks for fills. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my lashes. I highly recommend Karine. read more

I found Lash Up on Groupon and am so happy I did! Karine is so very kind and down to earth. Makes you feel at ease and like you've known her forever. Above her kindness...her work is phenomenal. Sure there are the NORMAL couple lashes that shed (that happens with ANY lash application)...but my lashes are almost two weeks in and they still look great. read more

Great experience here. I've had my lashes done a dozen times with franchises, local salons, lash stylists who work from home, etc and these lashes and the ability to do them well in such a short amount of time is SO GREAT. I hated having to lay there for 1-2 hours for just a fill! So glad I found my lash spot finally! read more

Happy as can be with Karine! I can go 3 weeks and lashes look good! No problem with glue or problem fall out. Super kind and efficient. i will give up Starbucks almost forever to have lashes. So far, worth the extra. Booker system gives me problems but Sean always prompt to help me get my appt. read more
