I recently ran into some major RSI issues, so I was in the market for a number of ergonomic…read moresupplies and devices. I badly wanted to like and support this place, but sadly after attempting to buy something there on a few different occasions, here's why I never have: 1) It's rarely open. No weekend hours, no evening hours. They're 8-5 (8-3 Fridays), and holidays? No way. It took me a while to find a time to come in when I wasn't working and they were open. And even still, I was rushed out the door when 4:55 came. 2) The showroom is a mess. I came in looking at adjustable desks and ergo mice/keyboards, and they had a few models, but the one they were showing off was covered in keyboards, most not plugged in, and several broken and unable to be hooked up (according to the saleswoman). It looks like a great place to sit in chairs, but man, they're really not doing themselves any favors selling other things with that kind of mess. 3) Poor lead time on desks. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks to get a standing/sitting desk in stock, plus delivery. The same desks are available with 1 week lead time online through other retailers, with no Boulder sales tax nor supplier markup, not to mention a greater selection. And the return policy... 4) The Return Policy. I walked in willing to buy a Rollermouse and walk out, but unsure how it would fit into my workflow. I was willing to pay tax, to pay their markup, all I asked was the ability to return it in some reasonable timeframe if it didn't work. I was told, instead, that they have a strict "No returns" policy on electronics. So, I walked out instead, and did the Rollermouse trial through the manufacturer instead, paying a bit more for the privilege. (I ended up loving the mouse, for what it's worth). As I've said, I really wanted to like this place, and to support a local supplier of necessary products, and I'm willing to pay to support places like this. But I really felt like Kare Products was trying to make me buy online from somebody else instead. I can't visit the showroom after work, the showroom itself is disorganized and I can't try the products, I can't get the products in a reasonable timeframe, and I can't even count on them to stand behind their products with a reasonable return policy. These choices and policies systematically erased every single advantage that a local store has, leaving you with the same disadvantages of online, plus the markup and sales tax of a local store. Perhaps I just had a poor experience as a non-corporate buyer, but despite their niche and wonderful products, this place seems fundamentally lazy and stuck in the past. Here's hoping they fix that before the clock runs out.

The folks at Kare Products are a pleasure to work with. Both Craig and Karen have been in the…read moreergonomics industry for years and really know their stuff. I tried out one of their chairs at the Boulder showroom and had a life-changing realization about the importance of an ergonomic workplace. If you're looking for a friendly shopping experience and an education in ergonomics along the way, I would highly recommend Kare Products.

STOP! Do Not Order Furniture Here!…read more I work for a large company in the outer Denver metro. We were building out an office space to suit 9 work stations. We obtained 2 bids, the first from a company we normally use, the second from Citron. We decided to go with Citron because they promised our furniture would be delivered within 4 weeks and during the bidding process they were prompt, responsive and clearly eager to get our business. Once they got our money, that is where the customer service ended. We were promised our furniture would arrive in 4 weeks, this was the primary reason we chose Citron. On week 4, after multiple attempts to contact the company, we were finally told that our furniture was not ready and would be 2-3 more weeks. When we asked why we were not notified sooner about the delay's, we were told "I didn't want to upset you". SERIOUSLY?!?! 2-3 weeks later, after multiple attempts to get an update, we were finally given an install date, only to be told that HALF our furniture was going to be there and the missing parts were still 10 business days out. The partial install did go as planned, and Citron did deliver temporary solutions to our missing items, which was reasonable. 2 Weeks later our missing items arrived and were installed, again after multiple attempts to get status updates with little to no response. To top things off, we requested Citron replace a desk top which they had ordered for the wrong length. At that time we were told they had no idea how long it would take to get a replacement. 10 days ago the VP notified us that the desk top had arrived. When we asked when it would be installed, we got a VERY snide e-mail response saying that he wasn't telling us it would be installed, but rather that he received it. HUH? We have followed up several times to get an update. No response. Not surprised. We are over 3 months into this project and it is still not complete. Our company will NEVER do business with Citron again, and if you were smart, you wouldn't either. Seriously, IKEA would do a better job, or at least answer the phone when you call.
