I, of course, was a bit skeptical and hesitant with the whole process of laser but I got the opportunity to talk to a lovely esthetician (Kisha) who cleared up so many questions for me. Going into my first appointment I still had some nervousness, I was promptly paired with nurse Jenelle who patiently answered my questions before beginning. Now I had been waxing for about 2 years prior to this so I expected a less painful experience and I was curious as to how the customer service aspect would compare. My experience with waxing was either a sort of a mom and pop shop situation or like Olive Garden, "fancy" fast food. Jenelle did an amazing job and made a wonderful first impression. She set a prefect pace that respected both my time and my tolerance. Throughout the service she checked in with me to see if I needed a break or something to focus on. I've never had a service provider ask what level of communication I was looking for to optimize my experience. Not to mention at the end of the service she asked to see what areas I felt were more painful than others. To me, that shows a service provider that takes the time to work on their skill set and improve themselves. A big thank you to both of these ladies and I'll see you again in 4 weeks! read more

Laser Away is a scam, full stop. I contacted them to see if they had any treatments that would get rid of a large red spot on my forehead, which I thought was a broken capillary. I consulted first with their marketing folks (which is a nightmare you have to jump through to be seen here) who said that IPL would be a good treatment for me. They had me send them pictures of my face, and conned me into buying a very expensive treatment plan. Before beginning treatment, I also had a consultation with a nurse, to go over my medical history, and make sure that this was an appropriate treatment for me. I found that reassuring after what I went through with marketing, but it turns out that the nurse was scamming me as well. I went through 7 treatments. After the first couple, I was bummed that I wasn't seeing any progress, but every time I went in they said the same thing- that it takes time to see results, that I should finish my treatment plan, and that if I wasn't happy, we would talk to customer service and see what could be done. After my 6th treatment, I was still seeing no progress, and getting really fed up. I did some research, and realized that what I had on my forehead was probably a cherry angioma, so I went to a dermatologist, who then confirmed it, and said that IPL is ABSOLUTELY NOT an appropriate treatment for a cherry angioma. I then explained this to my technician at LaserAway, as well as the front desk person- who again advised me to wait until after my next appointment. But after my appointment I got an email saying, "No, we changed our mind, we'll connect you with customer service now." Then I got the most hateful email from a customer service rep who does not want to be named basically saying "We don't guarantee results. Maybe you should buy more treatments." WTF! Sure, they can't guarantee results, but they can avoid conning people into paying for treatments that aren't appropriate for their condition. So evil. Stay away from this place. If you need skin procedures, go to an actual dermatologist. read more

I reached out to inquire about their names which I believe are Ruva (nurse) and Nailah (front desk representative). They were incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional (but also so down to earth). They were the best people I've engaged with at any laseraway location to date. I was nervous for my first tattoo removal session and they made me feel so calm and comfortable during the entire process. The customer service is terrible, they botched my botox, they sold and gave me a treatment that is very bad for rosacea but told me it was good for rosacea, they use high pressure sales tactics, and are the least empathetic company I have ever dealt with. They made a scheduling error and contacted me telling me I had made the error. I deeply regret having pre-paid for services that are difficult to schedule and with staff who you don't see twice. Not good. Not anywhere as good as working with a doctor whose staff you know and who treat you as valued. read more

Came in today for a full lower body laser treatment + arms and under arms which is around 120 minutes. I arrived 5 minutes late but made sure to call ahead to let them know I was going to be late. When I got here I got checked in and was seated. I waited 10-15, which I thought was ok as I know how busy they can get. They entertain you by trying to offer you more deals and try to get you with the "this is the last day". I refused cause I'm just trying to get my services that I booked for. 40 minutes pass and I had to initiate contact with one of the employees bc no one cared to tell me "sorry for the wait" or "we will be with you shortly" so I asked if the wait was going to be longer and they tell me they are backed up and were running late. My appointment was at 4pm and it wasn't till 4:50 when I told them I could wait no longer bc I had another appointment at 6pm somewhere else. As I'm rescheduling I asked if there was availability for the week coming up as I want to be consistent with getting laser every 6 weeks and I have a trip in July. They asked if I was ok with splitting my sessions for arms and legs to which I replied no. They said they had no availability at their salon and asked if I was ok with Walnut Creek. To my inconvenience, I said yes bc at this point I was upset and wanted to get out of there. I was booked until JUNE 25 a month later after my original appointment. The front desk people again tried to sell me on a new service to which I declined and walked out. Front desk people need to do better in communicating and making sure their clients are well taken care of or at least make them feel noticed!! I pay a lot for my services monthly and to have to cancel and wait is such an inconvenience. read more

I've done an assessment for extra sessions, every time I call them for the updates they'll say the same thing "we will have them reach out to you by the end of the day" and they never call back, this is happening since may and we're in august. I came to LaserAway for my laser hair removal experience, they were great at educating me and making sure I got the best package to cover everything I wanted. My experience today with Nurse Jenelle was amazing, she was super informative during the treatment and answered all my questions before and after. I'm going to laser away in oakland for a tattoo removal. The first session went good I used an ice pack for numbness. On the day of my second session there was scheduling issues went to the office and Nailah was there to assist me. She was very friendly and resolved the problem. I was given a numbing cream on the house for the inconvenience. I honestly prefer to use the ice pack as a numbing method. read more

If you're looking for an outstanding experience getting hair or tattoo removal services done, I highly recommend this LaserAway in Oakland! The receptionists Anika and Brittany are very welcoming upon entering and super friendly the entire time I was there. I went in for a hair removal and the staff, Carolyn and her colleague Karen, were attentive and gentle, walking me through the process and explaining everything they were doing since it was my first time. I love that they check in with you during the entire session and they make sure that you are comfortable throughout your appointment. The young lady was very rude who check me out when I was asking questions & seemed to be getting frustrated. So another young lady had to help her. But I kept my composure & didn't say anything "Very Unprofessional". Also the AC was broke so it was 87° or Hotter in the room & wearing a mask you're even hotter. Why wouldn't you cancel or call & give people a choice to come or not so they wouldn't have to be in that high temperature of Heat. Not happy with my results hair still growing. I purchased 3 sections on my body to do laser hair removal to. I would have absolutely given this review 4 or 5 stars, but unfortunately this wasn't the case. It was my first appointment getting laser hair removal from this location and though the facility was super clean, the staff was super friendly my appointment started 30 min after my scheduled time. This would normally not be an issue but I had somewhere to be after my appointment, having started late I had to choose between being late for work, or skip an entire section I paid for and was scheduled to do. I ultimately had to skip an entire section and had to reschedule for another day the following week. Now if you know about laser hair removal you need 6 weeks between appointments so having one section a week behind I would have to chance being able to get all 3 sections done for my next follow up. Laser away idk what happened whether you were short staffed that day or overbooked but I was disappointed when I paid $4800 for laser hair removal. I hope this does happen again. :( read more

They are a complete fraud their sales rep her name is Samantha forced me to finance through Ally and she didn't tell me the whole truth about a 24% interest in the same time I was ready to pay with my credit card the whole amount but she only care about getting her commission only and who cares about me paying 24% extra and when I call them to solve the problem they refused to give me the corp number or anyone to speak to so be careful of them they will put you in trouble very easy ! read more
