Hello folks, this review is ... wow over 4 years from my initial appointment. As I was booking…read moreother appointments, i realized I haven't had to book a waxing appointment for my legs in years! Here are the results from areas I lasered: Legs - I haven't shaved or waxed my legs in 4 years. No growth to worry about, no issues. The only place I have hair is on my knees as I wasn't able to do laser on them due to scrapes from a running fall. It is funny to see the hair there when there isn't any elsewhere on my legs. Underarms - I occasionally do shave here. I used to have very thick, south asian underarm hair and shaving it just made it thicker over time. I do have light hair growth here, but the hair is so thin it's rarely noticeable. So yes, there is hair growth here but the discomfort of having thick underarm hair is gone! Face - unfortunately where I ended up having the most re-growth. I've had a unibrow my whole life and I was excited that lasering it would make it a non-issue. Unfortunately, I still get my brows threaded because the hair growth was the same. I do think the mustache area an d chin have less hair growth, but there is still more than I was expecting when getting it done. Overall - Nearly complete hair reduction in 2/3 body parts, with one of those covering half of me! I'm very happy and I've been considering if I should go back and do other areas.

My advice is do not purchase the package deals. Just pay as you go. Super sketchy!

I purchased a $4,000 full body laser package from this business, and my experience has been…read moreextremely frustrating and disappointing. I've actually been a loyal customer for years and have even recommended friends and family here, which makes this situation even more upsetting. When I was sold this package, I was clearly told that I would be able to choose which body areas I wanted treated at each appointment. This flexibility was a major reason I agreed to move forward. However, when I recently called to schedule an appointment for a specific area, I was told that I must do full body treatments and cannot select individual areas, which directly contradicts what I was told at the time of purchase. On top of that, I was also told I could use a credit card for payments, but when they attempted to run my card, I was then told I had to use a debit card instead. This was not communicated upfront, and I had specifically clarified this before purchasing. I reached out to the business directly to resolve this. Someone from the facility did call me back and said that upper management would follow up with me, but I never received a call. It has now been over two weeks with no response. I made a good-faith effort to handle this privately, but the lack of follow-through and the inconsistency in what was promised vs. what is being delivered is extremely disappointing--especially for a $4,000 service. At this point, I feel that the package was misrepresented during the sales process, and the lack of communication from management only adds to the frustration.

The consultation room was a bit shabby and the lights were turned down very low, which I found strange. I asked why it was so dark and she said it's like this in all treatment rooms, so we spoke for 20 minutes in extremely low light. As we went over my skin concerns in the dark, I requested a treatment with 3 goals: reducing PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation), clearing congestion, and general nourishment of my skin. Ida suggested using arbutin and kojic acid for the PIH. I asked if these were bleaching agents, because I love my skin color and am not interested in making my face lighter. She assured me that these were gentle and not bleach. But then later Ida referred back to our treatment plan as "bleaching", which obviously alarmed me. I said "bleaching?", and she again reassured me that was not the case. Very strange. She then told me that because I have sensitive skin that I needed to cover my entire face every time I'm in the sun, with a wrap around mask that reveals no skin. I balked at this, expressing reluctance and confusion. I'm from Jamaica where we have equatorial sun exposure and people still have clear complexions. I said I wasn't sure I could commit to that. She just kept insisting that it was the only way to prevent hyperpigmentation. She said that the skin color on my chest (which is lighter than my face) is my "true" color. I always thought that just my un-sun-tanned color. Hmm. After the session, I researched arbutin and kojic acid and read that the latter requires users to avoid the sun or it increases melanin production. So maybe this is why she was saying I would need to hide my face from the sun? I was confused. At that point I decided that I didn't want to use the kojic acid. So I texted Ida saying I didn't want to do the skin lightening treatment but still wanted to get a facial for the other goals (clearing congestion, nourishing my skin etc). She texted back that that was fine. But the next day I received a text from Ida saying that because I was "rejecting" her treatment recommendations that she could no longer work with me. I was changing my mind about skin lightening, not rejecting her advice. I was still looking forward to working with her. This was a strange and disappointing experience. I was really rooting for Ida as a black female small business owner, but I think she needs to work on a few things including misinterpreting a client changing their treatment goal as a rejection of her expertise. If you go to a restaurant and order a meal, then change your mind and ask for a different dish, they don't refuse you service. ‍

I've had filler once, Botox once, and two RF microneedling sessions and it's like the technicians are OCD. Three full passes, every patch of skin is covered, and the results are the best I've had. They give you time to numb, and they do a great job distracting you from the discomfort if you do decide to go for a more intense setting. Also, really helpful with the GLP, clear labeling on each syringe, and easy FaceTime with the doctor. I've never had to wait past an appointment time and there's always parking. Really grateful I found this spot. Note: Sheila did the rf microneedling if you end up scheduling that service. I normally have some white spots but after the service with her my entire face is covered and it shows in the results.

The interior of the medspa is clean, minimal, and thoughtfully designed. The consultation was pretty short and confirmed what treatment I was looking for. I felt uncomfortable about the various treatment and product recommendations because I didn't feel like I had a say in what I wanted to opt in or out of. Dr. Shay informed me that a package of 5 was recommended (since packages are usually at a discount vs individual) and that it is typically $950/session for the face, but that she would honor the 5-package sessions to use for my arms as well. When I was walked back up to the front desk, I was quoted a different (higher) price for the package. I wish there was more communication between the staff because I definitely felt cheated. I was ready to purchase the package of 5 as quoted by Dr. Shay, but after hearing the discrepancies I felt hesitant to commit to Kintsu for so many sessions and opted to purchase just a single session which I used the next day instead. Additionally, a skincare product box set was brought up to the front as if I was going to purchase it when in fact I never agreed to it. Thankfully the ladies respected my decision and didn't try to push the product, although I did feel like I was being judged in the moment. I was also recommended a facial which I was not interested in and again felt like I was cornered into purchasing. The day of my treatment went much better, but could still use some improvements. It would've also been nice to have a clock in the room where the prep was done. I was sitting in there for what felt like ages and didn't want to move around too much reaching for my phone. The treatment itself felt pretty straightforward and the nurse had a calm demeanor which was appreciated. I couldn't remember what the aftercare instructions were, so a post-treatment care sheet would've been helpful. The nurse also said she would give me an ice pack afterwards to help sooth my skin, but I wasn't given one and just went up to the front to pay - oh well, no biggie but sometimes the details are what makes the clients feel appreciated and coming back. Overall, I wouldn't be opposed to coming back here if I wanted the convenience of going somewhere close by. The treatment itself was fine, but just be aware that products and services may be pushed on you and to just be firm about what your focus is.
