I purchased a $4,000 full body laser package from this business, and my experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I've actually been a loyal customer for years and have even recommended friends and family here, which makes this situation even more upsetting. When I was sold this package, I was clearly told that I would be able to choose which body areas I wanted treated at each appointment. This flexibility was a major reason I agreed to move forward. However, when I recently called to schedule an appointment for a specific area, I was told that I must do full body treatments and cannot select individual areas, which directly contradicts what I was told at the time of purchase. On top of that, I was also told I could use a credit card for payments, but when they attempted to run my card, I was then told I had to use a debit card instead. This was not communicated upfront, and I had specifically clarified this before purchasing. I reached out to the business directly to resolve this. Someone from the facility did call me back and said that upper management would follow up with me, but I never received a call. It has now been over two weeks with no response. I made a good-faith effort to handle this privately, but the lack of follow-through and the inconsistency in what was promised vs. what is being delivered is extremely disappointing--especially for a $4,000 service. At this point, I feel that the package was misrepresented during the sales process, and the lack of communication from management only adds to the frustration. read more

I had an appointment booked for my intro laser service and a day prior I get a text saying my appointment needs to be rescheduled due to one nurse call out. I called and they tell me the one nurse who called out for the next day is the only nurse who can service me and everyone else is booked. Very weird. Before I booked my appointment I read multiple reviews for this location and a handful of people have had a similar experience so I was very hesitant but I wanted to ultimately purchase the Groupon package so I went against my better judgement. I say all of this to say SEV Walnut Creek needs to do better with their poor scheduling and poor customer experience. But I'm sure they won't so I personally wouldn't book with them again. read more

I wanna start my review by saying that I have visited SEV for the past 2 1/2 years and over the past year I have noticed some changes. In the past, they would send you an email or a text message to have you confirm your appointments and now they auto confirm them for you so that you have no choice unless you log into their system. if you've gotten work done there before you know that their system is a little tricky to use like it's honestly hard to find a login, but once you login you're able to switch as long as within 48 hours of your appointment, right. So my experience with them has not been the best within the past year and a half not only do they auto confirm your appointment they text you with changes to your appointment. They did text me. My appointment was for Tuesday. They texted me Saturday midday during Easter weekend. I responded to them on Monday and let them know that you know I would like to reschedule. I thought this would be OK since one. They also confirmed the appointment for me and I did not say I could go to the appointment but they said that they're gonna charge me the 50% fee because I did not cancel in time and their logic was that since I did not reach out with enough time I was getting charged the fee. I communicated them I was like OK you can change my time for 11 instead of 10 which was something I could not do and they're like oh well we kept your appointment since you didn't respond so then why did you confirm my appointment if I did not respond? I will not be going to this location anymore or even the company I'll just find another laser hair removal and do my business there. I've been seeing that this practice is not fair to the client because why are you always auto confirming so it's hard for us to cancel? They are creating a system that profits them. Kudos for your system. The system ignores the client then making it easy to charge us 50% of that fee. Also, neglecting our right to confirm our own appointments. read more

Avoid this location if you value timely appointments, communication, professionalism, and most importantly PATIENT SAFETY. I was told to come at 4:10pm for my 4pm appointment which was fine. Once I got there, there were dozens of people checking in, the paperwork process was insane - none of this was even available before check-in. And after all that, I was then turned away for my laser facial for having used certain skincare ingredients when it was never communicated to me during my pre-op. I made an appointment a week ago and they said I had to stop using a product 2 weeks ago. Worse, I asked the nurse and the manager about the type of laser being used and neither could answer my question. The manager is NOT a healthcare provider. In a facility using medical grade lasers, you would think the manager would have this basic understanding. I would do research on the safety of med spas and take your business to a more licensed and professional location. SEV Walnut Creek is under new management, and although there are bumps in the customer service that will take time to improve, I wanted to increase my rating for the attentiveness the staff have shown to resolving these issues. The times for my past two appointments changed without my consent and notification from the staff. The first time this happened, I was confused why other customers were being seen before me, even though I had been checked in before them. I thought to check my appointment information in the SEV app, and that's when I learned my appointment time was moved. I thought it wasn't right how as a customer, I would be charged if I change my appointment time within 48 hours of the appointment, but the staff could change my appointment time within that timeframe and also without notifying the customer about the time change. It should be an agreement that is upheld on both the customer's and the business's sides. Also something I keep in mind is that I've paid a lot of money for this service (thousands of $$$). When anyone pays a certain amount of money for a service, it's justifiable to have a reasonable expectation of a level of customer service that should be met. This issue was addressed at my appointment today, and I was seen at my original scheduled appointment time. I would do your research in the reviews if you are considering starting laser or another service here, but I wanted to share how my experience was improved under the new management for others' consideration and transparency, so you all can make a more informed decision about going here. My first and only laser clinic! I've been coming to SEV for over two years now for my Brazilian. My hair surprisingly responded really well to laser and most is permanently removed after hitting a year of treatments. My latest visits have been sporadic, mostly for touchups. Their prices (especially the packages) are pretty reasonable. The facility is clean and staff are professional. I've never felt uncomfortable during my visits. They've also been kind enough to accommodate me when I'm running late. One thing I'll mention is that they have different laser technicians each time, so you won't be able to request a certain technician that you like. That being said, they seem to be pretty well-trained across the board for bedside manner and proper laser technique. I would definitely recommend grabbing their Groupon deal to gauge whether laser is a good fit for you. NOTE: Parking in the garage across the street is free for the first hour (or two, I can't remember), but if needed, there's usually metered parking in the lot out front ($3 minimum). read more

I had a Groupon for a laser treatment package with Sev and chose the Walnut Creek location. My appointment was rescheduled due to storms so they consider the safety of customers and staff. Possibly because of timing to fit me in, I waited about 25 minutes for the RN to get me from the lobby to start my Brazilian and underarm service. The treatment area was consistently clean when I went. Each RN is knowledgeable and made sure I was comfortable during the process and knew what to expect. This is my recent experience with those location, it's very rare you get a acceptable experience with this location! If I hadn't bought a package from Sev Laser, I wouldn't step inside this location again! It honestly feels like they enjoy turning people away. I arrived just 2 minutes late and they sent me away--even though my appointment was 30 minutes long. I explained that I had driven half an hour to get there and that it's really inconvenient to come back, but the girl just said, "NO!" Overall, my experience with Sev Laser has gotten worse with every visit. I absolutely do not recommend anyone go to this location! I am going to another place, not a Sev, for laser treatment and I am comparing the results, every technician changed the setting every session and I didn't get results what 6 times of hair removal! I've seen a huge reduction in my hair growth since starting laser--so much that it barely grows back now. In areas where I had thicker hair, it's taking longer to vanish completely, and I've needed more sessions than I initially expected. My pain tolerance is very low, but I appreciate that they increase the intensity gradually during each session. The air-blowing feature during the laser treatments is a game changer--it makes the process much more comfortable, especially on sensitive areas like the face. The nurses and receptionists are always so helpful and friendly, which adds to the positive experience. The only downside is that the prices have gone up, making it more expensive. I've been going to this location for the last few months and had nothing but problems with their packages. All I wanted was my chin line and inside my nose. Apparently I continuously buy the wrong packages and have a jawline package that no one has made me aware of until today. The lady that treated me changed it and they charged me additionally (which I didn't agree to). When I went to reschedule she said to reach out to management for a credit because she was not authorized to help me. I emailed the manager and she said she wouldn't credit me because I already had changed my packages. I already paid for a jawline and your Chin line is part of your jaw. I went for my session today, it was pouring with traffic. As a good customer, I called them to let them know that I was running late. Upon my arrival the receptionist tried to turn me away telling me that I was late and that they could only do my Brazilian, knowing I drove for an hour. I can't help but give this place a one star because every time I've gone there it's been a pretty bad experience overall Two of the nurses were good. Ever... I'll say one was great. The other was OK and OK because it seemed very passive aggressive during the entire conversation, not genuine kindness, but she did turn the machine up which I respect. I have had sessions elsewhere before where my hair didn't grow back, but due to the fact that they don't turn their machines up high enough, I simply don't get results so they are just stealing my money I didn't want to ever come back, but since I had money on my bank and they won't cash me out I decided to use my sessions and just never come back. Obviously to each their own, a lot of people like this place... but I don't. Results have been poor, they miss 30% of my hair because they go too fast and leave too much space between zaps. To those who r unaware they may think this service is great. U know 10 sessions "yay my hair won't grow back as much" but no no... it took me 3 to never have to get my arm pit done again! SO DISAPPOINTED. I would NEVER recommend SEV LASER to anyone. I went to several laser 2 years abdomen, full Brazilian, armpit , full legs and 15 months for full face, full leg, and feet. As soon as I stop laser for certain areas and I made my appointment 8 weeks apart as the nurse suggested my hair grow back and a lot of spots missed. I left the review once before and they reached out to me and they set me up with a supervisor to complete my session, but I haven't gotten any better result. Its waist of the TIME and MONEY. The parking lot is daily small, BUT I have always found parking. I love the area around SEV as well. I have gone here for a while now and am a repeat customer. Normally the receptionist is friendly and kind. Today, however, I was about 5 minutes late to my appointment and the lady in the front said they were closed for lunch. I told her I was 5 minutes late, and she said your appointment is only for 10 minutes but you can come back in an hour. I couldn't make that time, and that's all she said to me. I checked the time again, and now it was 7 minutes past my appointment. I asked if she could tell me how many sessions I have left and she was like I can't. I'm clocked out, even though a few moments before she looked at the computer to tell me that I could come back in an hour. It was completely disingenuous, and unprofessional. I have not been so angry before and I had nothing else to say but to leave. I have come here for at least a year (if not longer) and have never seen it like this or been treated this way at any establishment. Sofya S let her know that she was wasting her time and money if she wasn't going to show up for her appointment properly. She basically shamed her. This was not the first time. I was there for the first appointment when Sofya S said something similar- letting her know "if you read the paperwork you would have seen it" SEV looks nice and posh when you walk in, however the front of the house and the back of the house are not the same. They don't leave the room to give you privacy when you dress/undress and their technicians could certainly use some bedside manner training. This is a treatment that could be done at many places. More for customer service than anything and tips for folks coming here. When you schedule, you don't know what machine you'll get. One time I got candela and another cynosure, I found this odd. One time I felt it and one time I didn't. When I questioned this at the front desk, one of the girls was very rude and looked at me like I was crazy, while the other was trying to explain. The whole appointment for a small body part like upper lip and chin is 3 minutes and then they ask for a tip, which is fairly strange. Overall, it kind of feels like a cheaper and less swanky version of skin spirit. Originally thought I'd try Botox and injectables here but you can't compare this place to skin spirit... at least the front desk customer service is night and day... read more

3.5 stars. The staff and technicians are nice and professional but the facility isn't very pleasant. The bathroom has been out of order for months (my last three appointments), parking is sparse and paid, the rooms, decor, and ambience are not nearly as nice as other SEV locations. Also, if you're running late and have a morning appointment, then you can't call the location to let them know. You can only get the call center starting at 10am so you cannot confirm if they'll be able to fit you in if you're running late. Sometimes if the place is busy, you'll have to reschedule so it's good to find out before you drive over. The Walnut Creek location does cost more than other SEV locations. Like $90 vs $100 for half legs and $70 vs $95 for bikini (Walnut Creek vs Hermosa Beach). This is strange because Hermosa Beach also has a much higher cost of living compared to Walnut Creek. But I don't mind it too much because most of the technicians are pretty detail oriented and take their time which is nice. But occasionally you'll get a super quick technician who doesn't really try and it's a bummer because you're paying more so you'd expect better service than other locations. Hermosa Beach has nice scented rooms, fresh flowers, a working bathroom, and peaceful ambience. Not a huge deal but it sure makes the experience a bit more pleasant. I'm still a SEV fan but I just wish Walnut Creek was as good as the other locations. read more

I started off getting laser hair removal at Sev for some body parts like underarms and arms and saw decent results. I then decided to get my upper lips and chin lasered as well. I have soft, vellus hair on the rest of my face which I would leave as is and had concerns about getting my face lasered since I have acne-prone skin; during one of my visits, I consulted with the nurse who inspected my face and told me it was fine for me to get my face lasered. I had a few sessions on my face and started noticing more breakouts and PIH/PIE. Then one technician lasered over my hairline by mistake, which made me hesitant to go back. After a few months I noticed that the hair on my cheeks/jawline seemed more prominent and darker than it used to be, which was very distressing. I followed up with my regular esthetician and a dermatologist. My esthetician told me that with my skin tone (I'm South Asian), I should never have been advised to get laser hair removal on my face and that increased hair growth is a common side effect. The dermatologist also mentioned that certain laser settings can have adverse effects. Now along with shaving my upper lips and chin I also shave my cheeks and jaw where before I didn't. On its website, Sev mentions using laser hair removal even on peach fuzz, but after reading up online, it's clear that paradoxical hypertrichosis is a possible side effect of laser hair removal on certain parts like the face and neck especially for people of darker skin tones. This is not a side effect that showed up in a regular Google search until I already knew to search for it specifically. This side effect isn't particular to Sev (one friend who went to a different center ended up with a coarse beard following her treatment), but it's important for laser centers to screen people and be transparent about certain risks for different populations. My treatment for other body parts was generally fine (though I noticed that sessions with different laser techs resulted in very different experiences, with some sessions being pain free and others resulting in a lot of pain (even on similar settings) and some techs missing spots and finishing in half the allotted time). Skimming through the reviews on this page shows that other people have also had issues with missed areas and darker facial hair growth. Sev is more affordable than a lot of other centers and it's a good option for certain body parts, but I'd recommend not getting sensitive areas lasered here and potentially choosing electrolysis over laser for face/neck. My experience getting my face lasered at Sev was upsetting and caused me to stop going there completely. read more

I actually really love coming here, but after 3 sessions my only real complaint is that they are ALWAYS running late on appointments. Social distancing guidelines are on point from the hand sanitizer, disinfecting between clients, glass at the front desk, and limiting the amount of people in the building at once. They send clients a text when they are ready for them to come in so we're not waiting too long inside around other people. My appointment was at 6pm, got a text at that exact time, but they didn't take me in until 620pm. This is even a longer delay from when I came for my first session! How is it possible that they are still running late when they are strictly limiting how many appointments can be taken and when to come in. I hope that they fix this issue soon because it's not fair that we have to pay a ridiculous amount for parking when many of their services only take 2 minutes. read more

My experience was overall great from booking my appt 2 months ago to the moment I walked in the door. We Arrived pretty early to grab a drink next door to ease our minds from what some may hear a painful experience. Walked in to see if there was a chance we could get in earlier- to my dismay she said you lucked out because I can take you both in 15 mins. Woot woot. Super friendly gal working the front desk eased our minds and walked us through it all. My bestie was pretty nervous about it, however I have a high pain tolerance so I wasn't so much. This girl walked out after 10 mins laughing. Acknowledging she totally overreacted. My turn: tech was super nice, very thorough and checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay. You guys! I recently had a very disappointing experience at SEV Laser Walnut Creek. I had an appointment for laser hair removal on my back and shoulders which I've been waiting for a month and a half. Upon arrival, the technician called someone else, having made a mistake with my name. She then realized her mistake and called me back without even offering an apology. Once in the treatment room, I was asked to show the treatment areas. I have a large tattoo across my upper back, and despite having shaved my back to the best of my ability, the technician pointed out a few areas I couldn't reach perfectly. Instead of offering a solution or assistance, she arrogantly and humiliatingly refused to provide the service. She literally walked out of the room for 10 seconds, came back claiming she had talked to the manager, which was obviously untrue, and then stated they were running behind schedule and wouldn't have time to shave the missed spots. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. The lack of empathy, professionalism, and willingness to help was astounding. I left feeling embarrassed and frustrated. Worth mentioning SEV is in the beauty business but also in the service business, and unfortunately, not all of their staff understand that. There is a way of doing and saying things, and sometimes a little empathy and professionalism can make all the difference. I strongly suggest that SEV Laser Walnut Creek train their staff in proper customer service and show a little more understanding and respect towards their clients. Trying to get an appointment was a little harder as they were booked out a month in advance. So plan ahead if you want to be hair free for a vacation or event. All of the rules and prep that's needed before your appointment made me nervous as I didn't want to screw anything up. Luckily I followed the directions without fault. Now the rest was easy peasy! The process took less that 10 mins and Kristine was a gem. She assured me it would be less painful than waxing and quick! She was right.
