I have worked with some very nice and helpful nurses at LaserAway. Unfortunately, the corporate office and salespeople are cons. I bought a package of 12 IPL treatments to secure a 30% discount. On the phone, they said I could get a full refund for any treatments not used. They will tell you ANYTHING to get you to buy. After using 4 of the treatments and having no results (my skin is worse than when I started), I called to get a refund. That is when they told me they do not, in fact, give full refunds. I could save $700 if I got store credit though. I've since called 5 times to get the store credit. Each time I was promised that someone would call me back to consult with me. No one has. Instead, someone decided on my behalf that I didn't want to save $700, and gave me a partial refund. I called back *again* and was told that now that the refund was issued there was nothing they could do. They decided I didn't want the $700 and that was the end of the story. read more

I have been to several LaserAway locations in California, I have had great experiences at all of them. The Oakland location is just as great. Upon coming in Nailah was super welcoming and friendly, which was very kind. I saw nurse Carolyn. She was also great - very tentative and careful that I was having a good experience. She even double-checked with the head nurse to make sure I was not having any bad reactions. I appreciated her being so attentive and cautious. read more

LaserAway is amazing! I've always had such a positive experience no matter what location I go to, but the Oakland one is fantastic. The facility is very clean, everyone who works there is super knowledgeable and great at explaining treatments and pricing (which isn't advertised). The treatments can be pricey but there's almost always some kind of deal going on, and I love that you can have a monthly payment plan. All that aside, the results have been incredible for me. I just finished my 5th treatment and it has been worth every penny! Today's appointment was with a new nurse, Szarlene and she was incredible. She made me feel very comfortable and walked me through what she was doing every step of the way. She was super thoughtful when performing the laser treatment, finding ways to make it less painful for me. I came for an appointment on opening day and was SO impressed with the staff and facilities. Everyone was really welcoming, friendly, and efficient. My clinician Catherine was excellent - thorough, fast, and attentive. Even though there were some First-Day frustrations for the front desk with computer systems glitching, everyone remained cheerful and professional. Got my second treatment today! I noticed fairly significant results after the first treatment and I am excited to be hair free in my chosen treatment areas by the time all of my treatments are done! No more spending an extra hour every time I have to shave these areas and no more cuts and razor burn! If you're on the fence go for it, you won't regret it! You can't even trust the reviews because they take 50$ off your service if you leave them a 5 star review. After completing 8 sessions a lot of hair still grows back. The only positive feedback is less razor burns. So I spent $2000 for less razor burns.... Not really worth it. Also the laser is really painful and the lady's there insisted that because I have tattoos I must be exaggerating.... Her ability to complete procedures swiftly without making you feel rushed is top level. I love that she has different tips and methods to ease any discomfort with tattoo/hair removal that she lets you decide is best for you. And I really appreciated her knowledge of the tools used and spoke with me when a different kind of laser was going to be used for an ongoing treatment (she explained why the laser change, the benefits, but still gave me the space to ask questions or decline if I preferred). My experience with LaserAway has been beyond horrible. I do not recommend them as service provider. Save your money and energy! 1. Package Adjustment & Sales: They will do anything to sell you a package, make adjustments. But once I started receiving the service the clinicians would make such a fuss every-time when I told them about the adjustments I had requested. 2. Training Sessions: I was treated multiple times by "clinician" in training. Why am I paying full price for a training session? 3. Scheduling: Their scheduling is a mess. They have an automated system that sends out the wrong times. It did it to me several times and caused a ton of confusion. 4. Patient Care: There's 0 empathy that you are being zapped with laser. You have to beg them for cooling packs and when you ask for more some of the clinicians give you attitude. My last session in particular was horrible the clinician was extremely rude and treated me like I was crazy for wanting cooling packs prior to the treatment to numb my nerves. But the cherry on top is their Corporate Customer Care (which is nonexistent), when I escalated my issues I had to wait 2 business weeks to get any sort of response -- they would have completely ghosted me had I not followed up via email and phone. I was connected with a Customer Support Coordinator, who completely failed to follow-up and never once attempted to apologize. I even escalated to senior management and they clearly do not care. And even then the first thing they tell you before even acknowledging the terrible experience you've had is that they can't refund you. read more

I was treated by Nurse Jenelle during my last visit and she was so great. Super thorough. She was also very professional yet personable and super nice. She warned me when an area might be "spicy" and counted down- which I found very effective. Hope to be treated by her again! On another note, I've been to a couple of locations throughout the Bay. I moved to the East Bay and started going to the Emeryville location and now the Oakland location because it's closer to home. The staff at the Emeryville and Oakland locations are super nice and accommodating. I found the Santana Row folks in the South Bay a little stuffy and not so welcoming. read more

I have been mislead and ignored for months. I tried to cancel treatment plan and LaserAway is avoiding me. I booked a 10 session treatment plan for tattoo removal for more than $3,000 last March. Such a joke. On my 5th session the nurse asked me if it was my FIRST session because there was such little progress, and that they would credit me back 3 additional sessions at a higher setting to actually remove the tattoo - that never happened. This has been a long, expensive, and extremely painful process. When I tried to cancel treatment and issue a refund back in March, they promised a refund would be issued then dodged my calls and for months until it was "too late to refund" because it was over a year since booking. I recently went to one of these laseraway for Botox. I got sick and it didn't work. Today I read article about cheap Botox making people sick and realized, I too was a victim of this. Bad headaches, nausea for two weeks and it failed to work. I had Botox many times elsewhere very successful. I noted they used 1.5 times the usual dose for me which made even the package deal very expensive. The management were in denial and ghosted. read more

Getting my legs lasered, and entirely loving the results. Nurse Jenelle is amazing (as are the other nurses)--efficient, easy to talk to (I'm a talker), and my legs are looking smoooooth. I've been loving the results, am about halfway done, and am glad I decided to do it. I also go to Laser Away for Botox. I have saved a ton going this route I was paying a plastic surgeon to do it for a while (had a whole thing about not wanting to "ruin" my face) and eventually just didn't have the funds so decided to go for it. No regrets. I much prefer Laser Away for Botox (and not just because of the price). All around, I rec my friends go here whenever they ask.
